PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 "By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Chinese Camp, CA - Much like America's favorite feline Garfield, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) is a big fan of lasagna, and the subject of a major motion picture. To celebrate the release of the new Tom Hanks feature "The Terminal," which is loosely based on PWG, we present "Rocktoberfest!!" on Saturday, June 19th at the Santa Ana Elks Lodge, which will function as the film's unofficial premiere. While we can't guarantee that the film will actually be shown at the event, we can guarantee a fantastic night of professional wrestling action, and a possible appearance by big time Hollywood star Tom Hanks! (It is plausible that Tom Hanks might buy a ticket to the show, isn't it?) PWG's "Rocktoberfest!!" will feature: Bobby Quance vs. Puma After the events of May's "44 Ways To Kill You With A Pimento," Commissioner Paul T created "Rocktoberfest!!" in some sort of perverse plot to further certain hatred and rivalries that exist in PWG! Despite unclear motives, Puma has seemingly aligned himself with the team of Ricky Reyes, Rocky Romero, and Samoa Joe. There are many theories as to why this has occurred, but the simplest explanation (which is often the best) is that Bobby Quance is a huge fan of cookies, and Puma isn't! In fact, nothing disgusts him more than cookies, and therefore, these two men will battle not only for their pride, but who's culinary taste reigns supreme! Samoa Joe vs. B-Boy After his impressive victory over Scorpio Sky at "44 Ways...," B-Boy demanded a "main event level" match from Commissioner Paul T. Because Paul T is not accustomed to receiving threats and demands from the likes of B-Boy, he was taken aback and needed some time to think. After a game of Street Fighter II and some long division to clear his head, he did what any clear thinking Asian-American would have done, and decided to punish the "New Age Punisher" in the most sadistic way possible. Well, he could have killed him, or simply not put B-Boy on the show, but opted instead to make him face off with Samoa Joe, who many consider the most dangerous man in wrestling today. If B-Boy can defeat Samoa Joe, surely he would be in line for a title shot. If Samoa Joe comes out on top, B-Boy will be in line for months of intense physical therapy. CM Punk vs. Spanky Interoffice Memo From: T, Paul, Commissioner To: Staff, PWG Message: Hey, this s--t will rule, so we be puttin' it on the show. PWG Tag Team Title Match Super Dragon & Excalibur © vs. Scott Lost & Joey Ryan After defeating The Ballard Brothers and subsequently banishing them from Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, the X-Foundation find themselves one step from the top of the PWG Tag Team Division, however tag champions Super Dragon & Excalibur are not the biggest obstacles the X-Foundation need to overcome. Over the past few months, fans have witnessed the storybook romance of Scott Lost and Joey Ryan unravel before their eyes, but their relationship has endured long enough to climb the tag team ladder. Will the titles that so easily divided the X-Foundation be the promise ring that keeps them together, or the force that splits the up for good? Do Super Dragon & Excalibur care about the delicate nature of the X-Foundation's relationship, or are they just concerned with defending the PWG tag tiles a record 2nd time! Or just with seeing Garfield The Movie? Who knows! But you'll find out on June 19th! PWG Championship Match Adam Pearce © vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Babi Slymm vs. ??? Interoffice Memo From: T, Paul, Commissioner To: Staff, PWG Message: It is with great joy... I mean deep regret that I must announce that SoCal's own 9 foot lucha master, Hardkore Kidd, will be unable to attend the next PWG show. All my hatred aside, I wish him the best of luck in WWE, and I hope they are smart enough to bring El Jefe too. Now the rest of those three fools hate each other, so we gotta find somebody crazy enough to jump in there and take the title from Pearce. Plus Scorpio Sky, Quicksilver, Disco Machine, Top Gun Talwar, Chris Bosh, Charles Mercury, Sal & Vito Thomaselli, and Apollo Kahn are scheduled to appear! Also, watch for a major anouncement regarding Pro Wrestling Guerrilla DVD's in the next few weeks! Pro Wrestling Guerrilla "Rocktoberfest!!" takes place Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the Santa Ana Elks Lodge, at 8:00PM. The Santa Ana Elks Lodge is located at 212 S. Elk Lane, Santa Ana, CA 92701. Tickets are only $15 each, and will be available at the door. For more information, please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com or email [email protected]. " Holy crap... this could be one the best PWG shows ever. Every match announced so far should be freaking amazing I tells ya.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2004 Hey! Hey! Well, since the show is this saturday... I'd thought I'd give some of my dreaded "Thoughts and predictions~" on the event!! This time it's a TSM boards exclusive!!! cool eh? On with the show.... "Shooting Star" Bobby Quance vs. Puma Thoughts: This time we get our monthly PWG dose of the Inoki Dojo with Quance vs. Puma. This should a fantastic juniors match with some amazing chain wrestling. Flat out both men are just incredible in there and should know each other well enough to produce a great match here. Plus where will they take the battle of the Inoki Dojo angle? Prediction: PUMA continues his PWG winning streak (He's currently 6-0 as a solo wrestler in PWG) Samoa Joe vs. B-Boy Thoughts: I can explain this match in 5 letters.... STIFF. I think these two will just kill each other in there. This is not their first singles encounter either, IIRC their last singles match was in MPW on 1/12/02 and I thought it was pretty darned impressive and quite brutal. The scary thing is that both men have really stepped up their games and have improved by great leaps and bounds since then. So by all means this one should blow the already awesome MPW match out of water. I'd expect a great hard hitting contest here. Prediction: Samoa Joe CM Punk vs. Spanky Thoughts: First time ever singles meeting between two of wrestling's more... unique personalitys. Honestly I'm looking forward to seeing if these two will mix well in there. Will Punk do a 3rd straight hour long match? well no probably not. but regardless of that I think we should get a hell of a fun match here. Really anyone reading this folder should know what these two are capable of. I just hope they exchange promos before the match. That'd be truly classic... Prediction: CM Punk PWG Tag Team Title Match Super Dragon & Excalibur © vs. Scott Lost & Joey Ryan Thoughts: I have very high hopes for this one, as their last match in APW-LA last summer was one of my favorites from 2003 and only a clean finish away from being a SoCal MOTYC IMO. Whenever and wherever Super Dragon and Joey Ryan hook up it always produces a memorable match be it in RevPro, GSCW/APW-LA or PWG. Not to mention the incredibly underrated Scott Lost who can just do wonders in there if given the chance and the always ginormusly entertaining Excalibur. Hopefully they expand upon what they started in the APW-LA match and give us a classic here. This is my pick for match of the night.... Also, I'd look for the X-Foundation to finally split up here, after months of dissension. Which would then lead to nothing but great things for both of them in the future as singles wrestlers.. Prediction: S.B.S. retain after the X-Foundation finally split up. Maybe setting up Lost Vs. Ryan for the Huge anniversary show July 10th. PWG Championship Match Adam Pearce © vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Babi Slymm vs. ??? Thoughts: This should be the blowoff to whole Pearce-Kazarian-Slymm feud which started back in Novemeber when Pearce first jumped Kazarian. This feud has already produced alot of fun matches like the Street Fight at "Taste The Radness" and Pearce Vs. Slymm at "44 Ways..." and I'd expect this one to continue that trend. In fact a similar 4-way dance between Pearce-Frankie-Slymm-Samoa Joe already took place May 1st in AWS and that was a fun match... only with a bad double pin ending. Don't forget the "Tango and Cash" 4-way either which saw Kazarian and Slymm hook it up for the first time. But the big question here is who will replace the WWE bound Hardkore Kidd and be the 4th man? Could be it The Messiah? (who will be nearby in AWS earlier that day) American Dragon? A Havana Pitbull? Ultimo Dragon? Teddy Hart? Silk Wagner Brown? Could it be someone already on the card? or maybe it'll be someone no one would ever expect like maybe Retired Chief Justice Warren Burger? Who knows... but I'd expect this 4th man to make a serious impact on this match and perhaps even on PWG itself. Prediction: Adam Pearce retains. Plus: The AXP (Scorpio Sky & Quicksilver) Disco Machine, Top Gun Talwar, Chris Bosh (fresh off a huge RevPro title win over Super Dragon), Charles Mercury, Human Tornado (according to his site) PWI's Sal Thomaselli, Vito Thomaselli, Apollo Kahn and more are scheduled to appear! hip hop huray! I'd like to see them add something like The AXP Vs. Thomaselli's. That would be an excellent match and would probably be my choice for sleeper match of the show if it's booked. Plus it'll be interesting to see where they go with Disco Machine leading Top Gun, Bosh and Mercury. Maybe an 8 man tag of somesort? Overall a hell of show on paper (maybe PWG's best yet?) I can hardly imagine what they could have planned for their biggest show ever next month. So to recap... June 19th Santa Ana California PWG... be there! Take your friends! Take the family!! Makes a great early father's day gift!!! Really If you live in the SoCal area and want to get into Indy Wrestling for the first timw, this is a great place to start! But if however some unfortunate twist of fate (like having a broken leg or living on a dirt farm in Northern Iowa) will prevent you from being able to attend the event live. Don't fret! you can enjoy PWG from your own living room!, basement!!! or van down by the river!!!!! by purchasing a top notch PWG DVD or VHS tape from http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/merch Buy 2... watch one and keep the extra in a nice dry place with your X-Men back issues, It'll be worth money one day. So...anyone else have any thoughts on the show? Predictions on the 4th man? other criticisms? feedback of any kind? ANYTHING? (geeze it's hard to get a reply to anything not Feinstein related nowadays) Anyway thanks for reading....
Tawren 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2004 This show is going to be so incredible. SBS vs X-Foundation, Punk/Spanky, and Quance/Puma sound the best, but really this could be one of the best shows ever. I can't wait to see the results for this and eventually get the tape. Damn. I can't get over how good that looks. Seriously, right now SoCal is BLOWING ROH and the overrated East Coast away.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted June 19, 2004 this looks great. Punk is now offically the Indy GOD. Going sixty in back to back nights, and he will most likely put on another great outing.

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 Quick results from SocalUncensored... As usual, I apologize if these are out of order. Disco/Bosh/Mercury/Topgun over Supa/Tornado/Phoenix Star/Lil Cholo Apollo Khan over Tommy Williams Aerial Express over Thomasellis Quance over Puma CM Punk over Steve Corino [subbing for Spanky who was in Japan] X-Foundation over Excalibur/Super Dragon despite Scott Lost turning on Joey Ryan... yes, Lost turning on Ryan. Joe over B-Boy in a hell of a match Frankie Kazarian wins a four way elimination match by DQ when Pearce clubs him with a chair... then hits special enforcer Vander Pyle with it as well. Jardi Frantz was the fourth in this one. Next show is announced as July 10th in Hollywood at the Los Feliz JCC. This is the 1st anniversary show and is stacked to the roof with the flyer featuring the usual PWG stars plus AJ Styles, Am Drag, Brad Bradley, Christopher Daniels, CM Punk, Colt Cabana, M-Dogg, and the return of both Pitbulls. Hell of a lineup, huh? Oh... and to add to it, the main event will be Adam Pearce defending the title against Frankie Kazarian... Loser Leaves PWG... ...inside a steel cage! ================================================== Gotta think Pearce beats Kazarian in a cage, sending Frankie off to TNA, right? JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 Other thoughts from SocalUncensored's board: "Very good show overall. Thoughts: -B-Boy got owned. Man, that match was brutal -Kahn/Williams was a very good match. Williams' shined here. -I marked out for Corino. The match was very old school with lots of entertainment. Man, Corino has surely got a gut now. -I was too late to buy a Hustle 3 program. -Opening match was very, very fun. -Man, the Lost/Ryan thing is surely on the road to being a kick ass feud. -Glad Jardi is back, he was very over. -I feel sorry for Knox :-( -I don't want to see Kazarian or Pearce go, but the cage match should rule ass. -Can't fuckin' wait until July 10th, I'm going to be luring my friend to come to this show." PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 This was a great show... maybe one of PWG's best efforts yet. Some short thoughts: 8-man opener was a great comedy match with some high flying thrown in for good measure. Good to see Phoenix Star and Lil Cholo back in PWG. After the match Disco and company challenged ANY 4-man squad to an 8-man tag match next show. Later in the show The AXP accepted the challenge. Tommy Williams (Formally Funky Billy Kim) Vs. Apollo Kahn was a good mat based match. FBK has really been improving lately now that he's involved with the Inoki Dojo. AXP Vs. Iron Saints was a good match with some great comedy thrown in. Ring announcer Jon Ian giving Sal/Vito's Paul Heyman looking manager a headlock actually got the pop of the night. Finish came after AXP hit their dropkick/piledriver finisher. Quance Vs. PUMA was a really good mostly ground based juniors match. Even if they spent the first half the match laughing at each other for some reason. Quance wins it after an SSP. I was kinda surprised to see Quance win this one.... Punk Vs. Corino: I was upset about Spanky pulling out, but I was very happy to see Steve Corino. He and Punk had an ok match that was really fun. Corino's nearly non stop talking to the fans was classic... "I thought you guys were supposed to be smart marks?" and such. - SBS Vs. X-Foundation Tag Title match was a near classic, It was jam packed with action and drama. Best match of the show IMO. Late in the match Scott Lost finally turns heel! Watch out world I predict Scott Lost will be a breakout indy superstar in the very near future. - Samoa Joe Vs. B-Boy was a "stiff head drop fest" as the super smarks say. Really enjoyable match, if you are a fan of either man you should dig this one. I thought it was alot of a fun... 2nd best match of the show. - Adam Pearce is god. Nuff said.... no other heel today even comes close to Pearce. - Jardi Frantz as the 4th man in the main made little sense at first... but towards the end it made perfect sense. It's pretty clear that they didn't want the 4th man to overshadow the huge announcement at the end. Jardi played his part well... - The Next show looks totally awesome, The talent list is pretty unreal... this could be the show of the year. Can't wait for the Pearce Vs. Kazarian CAGE MATCH... that'll be worth the admission price alone. Just hate to think that either Pearce or Kazarian will be gone after this one. PWG won't be the same without them. Overall, it was a really great show. Buy it when it comes out.... (whenever that is) Next show is The huge PWG 1st Anniversary show on July 10th in Hollywood CA with AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, American Dragon, CM Punk, Colt Cabana, M-Dogg 20, Havana Pitbulls, PUMA, IWA:MS' Brad Bradley, S.B.S, X-Foundation, AXP, Chris Bosh, Top Gun Talwar, Charles Mercury, Babi Slymm, Adam Pearce, Frankie Kazarian and "MORE MORE MORE" set to appear. Be there! The show after that is August 7th back at the Santa Ana Elks Lodge with Colt Cabana already set to appear!!! Be there too...
