Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Come on and tell us about the highways and interstates in your area. Here's the ones in the KC area. US24 (which is really close to where I am) - And it's always fun to go out and drive about 65 on it in the more rural areas US40 - goes across Southern Independence, and also piggybacks off of I-70 US50 - Look at it on a map, I think the person who designed it was on something. All those sudden curves. I-70 - Goes across Missouri I-435 - Yep Other thoughts: If you've ever been though the Grandview Triangle, you would know that it is a clusterfuck. How about in your area? Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 The highways around my area are made out of concrete and asphalt. Not really much else to tell.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 On the highway 277 I can't drive 55 and cannot resist pushing the pedal to the metal to see how fast I can go before the car starts shaking up. I be hating the 410 Loop I-10 intersection and 1604 is just asking for a accident on a daily basis.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted May 28, 2004 I'll give em for LA and Miami... LA- If you want to talk the 10, 405, or the 101 just remember: TRAFFIC. That's all I'm going to say. The 5 isn't too pretty at times either. Miami- I fucking hate the 836. It is pretty much the lifeline of the whole city, turning into the 395 Causeway to get to Miami Beach to the east, and reaching all the way past Miami International Airport to the Florida Turnpike going west. One day I sat in traffic coming home from school on the 836 West (My school is in downtown) and I sat there wondering if it was plausible to make another level to the freeway to alleviate traffic since there was no way in hell they could add more lanes since everything in Miami is packed so tightly as it is. US-1/South Dixie Highway is pretty fun though, but the I-95 is only slightly better than the 836.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 I hate I95 south towards Philly where all the sudden it justs drops to 55. And I hate the Garden State Parkway with a passion in the summer.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted May 29, 2004 The Highways are pretty good around central Ohio unless there's road construction. You wouldn't believe how much road construction there is around Columbus. Last year was probably the first time in 12+ years that all the roads around my house are not being worked on. Perfxion 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 195 sucks ass. Between New Haven and NYC it is just so fucking slow as hell to drive, more like a parking lot. The Marriot[15] isn't much better either, some times its faster to drive on the post road.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 LIE (I-495) isn't too bad in my area, but as you get closer to NYC, it starts to suck tremendously. Sunrise Highway (NY 27) needs to be made three lanes each way much further east. The two-laned parkways (Northern State, Sagtikos, Southern State, Meadowbrook, Wantagh, Sunken Meadow, Robert Moses) need more lanes and better merging lanes. As for other roads, Montauk Highway near me is decent other than the part of it in Mastic/Shirley and going into Southampton (before it turns into Hill St.). Jericho Turnpike/Middle Country Road (NY 25) is littered with too many businesses, lights, and cars and in some parts is bumpy as hell (just east of Smithaven Mall). William Floyd Pkwy. and Nicolls Rd. in any other area would have been upgraded to interstate quality but on LI, they're just piddling 4-lane Suffolk County roads with lights. Rt. 25A (Northern Blvd. in Queens and most of Nassau, and just called 25A in Suffolk) is kinda bad. Nesconset Hwy./Smithtown Bypass (NY 347) sucks horribly. Veterans Hwy. (NY 454) is okay. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 Chicago can be bad. Understatement of the year right there, eh? I've felt confident on the Kingery (which isn't a main expressway), Eisenhower, North-South, and East-West, but I'm not ready to mess with the Tri-State. I haven't had to use the Stevenson or whatever the hell there is on the south side (Calumet?)
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 50 - goes from Ocean City to across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and points west 13 - goes north into Delaware and south into Virginia and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted May 29, 2004 I-69 is a flat-out high speed burn through Northern Indiana. Everyone who drives that road hauls balls the whole time they're on it. Anyone who likes to drive the speed limit usually chooses State roads 9 and 37. The highway is nothing but speeders and semis, unless you get around Indy and Fort Waste, then it can get clogged. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted May 31, 2004 Just to add something for Columbus. You have to be careful about speeding on the highway because the State Highway Patrol are the biggest bunch of assholes on the planet.
treble 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2004 Well, there's the 401 that goes through town. That about covers it.
