Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted May 29, 2004 Been wanting to post this for a while... so I finally did it. Some clips from the Norwegian Wrestling Federation's second most recent show. I'm in it for all of two seconds (the guy doing an axe kick on the apron). The Masked Avenger has somewhat more airtime, in the last match before the Battle Royale (the bald guy in black). http://www.nwfwrestling.no/video/NWF21032004.wmv If you liked this, I have a few more... Guest Duncan Eternia Report post Posted June 6, 2004 Cool video. Some of the guys look pretty good. But it looks like there is a good deal of crap wrestlers too. I would be intersted in seeing more though.
Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Glad to be of assistance. The quality of the wrestlers is actually surprisingly even throughout (with a few standouts), and, to my admittedly biased eyes, is quite high. I'll be the first to admit there are a few who have really, really crappy build, though. One more, for fun - this one of a single match, Isaksen vs Sem (reigning champ) for the belt in Trondheim last October. Sem's cut, BTW, is hardway, despite the blade look. http://www.nwfwrestling.no/video/isaksen%2...0netversion.mpg
Slickster 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Any backyard wrestling in Norway, out of curiosity?
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 I haven't even finished watching the video yet, but I gotta say... BEAUTIFUL brainbuster. The German shortly thereafter is nice too.
Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted June 26, 2004 I have heard of two backyard feds, but i don't know if any of them ever actually put on a show. Don't think any of them are active, either. Of course, there could easily be quite a few I don't know of, but I doubt there would be many - there hasn't been wrestling on Norwegian TV since 96, and that was WCW's Disneyland tapings at that. As for the Brainbuster... yes, I'd say he's got that one down pretty good...
Slickster 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Out of curiosity, do either of those backyard feds have a website?
Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted June 28, 2004 Doesn't seem like it - I really suspect neither I knew of ever taped anything, if they ever actually did anything. I know at least one of them had a web page, but that was, of course, all in Norwegian... On a toally unrelated topic, I've just seen that it's confirmed that we'll have Robbie Brookside coming over for our show in August. That should be good. Guest The Masked Avenger Report post Posted June 30, 2004 Seeing as I first discovered Eric's post now, I'll shamelessly bump it to the top:-D First of all, I'm glad you people liked it. It's always nice to hear something positive about one's efforts. Second of all, we all know that we've got a long way to go, both when it comes to technique and looks. Sadly wrestling isn't very big in Norway (allthough we are starting to bring it to mainstream attention), so there's a limit to how many shows we can put on, and how much experience we get. Still, we're getting there eventually. Thirdly: As a recepient of that Brainbuster at an earlier show, I can tell you that it also feels like a beautiful Brainbuster, i.e. hurts like hell... -TMA
Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted July 6, 2004 And just because I feel like it... I have another video! This is from our show on the 23 of May this year. The title match is on first, due to a running gimmick the champ's been using, where he opens the show by telling people he can't be bothered to wait around all day, but he has five minutes to spare right now, if his opponent is ready... It's also a 2/3 falls match, by the way. http://www.wrestling.no/video/NWF23052004.wmv
