Any fans of Tom Stoppard?

Recommended Posts

Anybody here a fan of Tom Stoppard, author of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Arcadia, and Shakespeare in Love (Among others, I assume)?

I've read his first two and seen the last mentioned, and I've enjoyed all of them. I'm curious as to what other plays he's written, and if he's written any novels, and if so, what your thoughts on them are.

I liked R and C are Dead. I read another one of his plays but I can't remember which one it was.

first play i ever did in high school was a one-act of stoppard's called 'the real inspector hound'. TONS of fun, lots of energy in the writing, and insanely clever. i highly recommend it.

in fact, i think i'll dig out my old marked-up copy of it now to revel in its greatness and the memories.

I too did The Real Inspector Hound and thought it was awesome.

I've read some other stuff, but don't remember the names of it, except Ridley Walker, but I'm not even 100% sure that's Stoppard. Aside from that, I've only seen Shakespeare In Love, I think. But it's all quite good.

R and G is good, but I saw a version of his Fifteen Minute Dogg's Hamlet that was hillarious. It's about a group of people who speak dogg ( it uses english words, but in different meanings. For example, the word apple to them may mean flower) and they try to put on Hamlet. It was very funny. I highly recommend.

If you like him, I highly recommend Don Nigro.

who did you play? i was magnus/puckeridge/hound/lord albert.

I honestly don't remember who I played. I remember reading it, and I remember some of the plot, but I don't remember my character.

I am pretty sure I was the original Inspector Hound, but I may be gravely mistaken.
