Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 And I thought that violet was pink...
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I love CWM. A lot. I do what I can.
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Violet is Purple with a little more red in it than usual.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 That's Magenta. Purple and Violet are the same thing.
Guest croweater Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 This thread has reminded me of a pet peeve of mine and that is people saying that primary colours are red, yellow and blue!!! It frustrates me beyond reason.
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Why does that frustrate you? Are they not? They're the three colors that you don't have to mix anything together to get.
k thx Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 IIRC, the primary colours are blue red and green. Red and green make yellow, ya dig?
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 but blue and yellow make green so it's not a primary. I was an art major for two years and I was told that the actual primaries are red, blue, and yellow. Computers and such use red, blue, and green for reasons I don't know. Fun with Colors
Guest Anglesault Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 That's Magenta. I thought it was maroon.
The Czech Republic Posted June 2, 2004 Author Report Posted June 2, 2004 but blue and yellow make green so it's not a primary. I was an art major for two years and I was told that the actual primaries are red, blue, and yellow. Computers and such use red, blue, and green for reasons I don't know. Fun with Colors I hope you don't try to paint using the principle that green is a primary color, or you'll get some crappy yellow. And by crappy I mean brown. With light, the primaries are your RGB, and all of them together make white. With paint, it's red YELLOW and blue, and all the colors make black.
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Why would I? I'm the one saying green isn't a primary color.
Hoff Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 In photography and printing, the principal hues are Yellow, Magenta, and Cyan. I have no idea why I just capitalized those. Anyway, someone tried to pull that "look at this indigo object" on me once. Problem was that the object in question (some old vase) was COBALT. We went to the library, I found a book on colors, then hit him with it. The moral is, don't fuck with color names unless you know your shit, because I will hit you with a book.
