So, I just got a DVD player that will play VCD files.

I have an assortment of WMV and ASF files on my computer. I'd like to change them to VCD, then burn them to a CD-R.

How would I go about doing this? Should I be burning them to a CD-R?

I'm totally lost. Thanks for any help.

Download TMPGEnc. It converts video files to mpeg form so they can be burned as VCDs.

Try a different brand of disk, or a CD-RW as they tend to work better.

What program did you use to burn the VCD?

I used Easy CD creator, because when I try and get my computer to load DVD+Rs, nothing happens. It just makes weird sounds.

Anyways, I searched up my DVD player and it is supposed to play DVDRs, CDRs, and VCDs.

Ergh.

Check to be sure that you are burning to a vcd format and not just putting the video on the disk. If your version of EZCD Creator doesn't support making VCDs, get Nero or VCDEasy.

I just got an 8x DVD burner (dual format, really nice..) using a giftcard I got for my birthday and it came with software that turns WMV into VCDs.

Also, for anyone that wants to join WMV together, Windows Movie Maker (which was installed with Win XP) can join them together pretty easily.
