EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Manny Ramirez career OPS+: 157 Albert Pujols: 167 Gary Sheffield has also been better two of the last three seasons.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I don't just mean Power Hitter. I mean overall hitter. Happy Birthday to the best right handed, power hitter today
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Well he's stereo-typed as a power hitter, still he's a great all around hitter. I'd take Pujols over Manny due to age and the difference in contract dollars. However Manny has proven season after season he's one of the best hitters in the game. Sheffield did roids, don't even bring him into the equation. He's a cheater.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Sheffield did roids, don't even bring him into the equation. He's a cheater. Proof?
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 The list released with his name on it of recieving hormones can be found on that site with all the celeb mugshots. List from BALCO that is.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 1. That is not proof. For one, we do not know what those supplements from Balco were, or what sustances were in them. We do not know that Gary Sheffield actually took those supplements. 2. Who is to say that Manny Ramirez never took steroids, or corked his bat?
Bruiser Chong Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Manny strikes out way too much in comparison to Pujols to be considered a superior hitter. Look at Albert's numbers right now. That's a slump for him. No contest on this one.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 2. Who is to say that Manny Ramirez never took steroids, or corked his bat? Manny is quite the lardo minus his biceps. If he was taking steroids he may want to request a refund because they clearly aren't working on the rest of him. He's also shattered hundreds and hundreds of bats in his career with none containing cork. O know you love the game Al, but it isn't completely pure right now. Certain people have cheated and could possibly still be cheating. There are hard facts, don't be blind to them for your love of the game.

But to completely discount accomplishments due to mere suspicion is a dangerous area to get into.
Slayer Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 I suspect that Al has been posting with the assistance of steroids and request he be stripped of all his journalistic recognition
