TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2004 As you would expect, there was a lot of praise for Impact last night before the PPV, with workers and management very happy with the way the first episode came out. The word going around the locker room was that FOX Sports Net was very happy with the program, and the feeling is that FSN liking the show is the most important factor for the company at this point. As Mike Johnson reported earlier, there is a lot of hope that FSN will give the show a Sunday AM slot, and add it to the weekend schedule on most of the affiliates. As I mentioned earlier, Shane Douglas is now working as an agent for the company, and was involved in laying out the tag team title match on the show. Jerry Lynn is also working as an agent in addition to his in-ring duties. Lynn and Scott D'Amore handled most of the X-Division matches on last night's show. Vince Russo and Dutch Mantell are handling the other segments. While most of the crew went to Florida last week for the Impact tapings, only those who were needed for the show are headed to Orlando today. Obviously, it doesn't make sense for the company to fly people to Orlando that aren't needed for the show. A few people were overheard grumbling about having to take a 5am flight to Orlando today (last week they were flown out at 10am), but all realize that it just "goes with the territory" and would rather be going than not. None of the wrestlers have complained about the switch to the six sided ring, and several people within the company feel it really works in making TNA seem "progressive" and different than WWE and other promotions. Also, with Impact having such a high-tech look, plans are in motion to improve the appearance of the Asylum. Laser lights and a new smoke machine were added, and there are plans to add pyrotechnics to the PPV events. With Christopher Daniels' shoulder injury, plans for a AJ Styles-Christopher Daniels feud have been put on hold (Styles reportedly had been pushing for a best of seven series with Daniels), and Styles will be programmed with Kid Kash for now. It is expected that the Styles-Daniels program will take place down the line, and several people I spoke with are looking forward to it. Hopefully the timeslot move is something that has actually been discussed and not just wishful thinking on TNA's part, because that timeslot would improve Impact's chances for success alot. I agree that the six sided ring helps them look different from WWE, and that's important to their success. The Asylum set definitely looked better last night, and once they add the pyro, it will be even better. I'd look forward to a Styles/Daniels feud as well, but Styles/Kash is an excellent substitution.

Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted June 10, 2004 Damn, figures they'd move Impact to the ONE time a week I can't watch it.

Kid Kash is my hometown hero, and AJ Styles is great. I'm gonna go nuts for this.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted June 10, 2004 I can't stand Kash lately. If he's gonna work AJ he HAS to cut out the cheap heat and stalling shit. He can work a pretty good match sometimes, but not unless he cuts down on the coward act.
