Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 (edited) CZW today announced six wrestlers to their annual junior heavyweight tournament, to be held July 10th. Alex Shelley Roderick Strong Sonjay Dutt (CZW Junior Heavyweight champion) Ruckus Petey Williams (IWA Mid-South Heavyweight champion) Jimmy Rave Announced previously: B-Boy Bobby Quance Jardi Frantz (confirmed by SoCal Uncensored, not CZW as of yet) As mentioned in the show thread, the winner of this weekend's Trifecta Elimination (most likely Justice or "Spyder" Nate Webb) will also compete in the tournament. LucharesuFan619 Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 From what one of his friends told me, Jardi will be on the show. Him or Quance vs. Sonjay would be SO off the hook.
PsychoDriver Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 This looks like it'll be a tremendous event. It's just too bad PWG is running the same day or I'd be there live... oh well maybe next year. Right now I gotta go with Alex Shelley to win it, with Bobby Quance having the break out performance of the show.
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 the only problem is so far there are no obvious 1st round job boys. especialy if they decide to move teddy & homicide into the tourney as they have sorta hinted at in the news collumn. if they are both in the tourney then it is at least on paper an incredible tourney.
JustJoe2k5 Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 I could see Jardi Frantz, Justice, Petey Williams, and Ruckus going out in the first round. Alex Shelley vs. Jimmy Rave, B-Boy vs. Teddy Hart, Bobby Quance vs. Homicide, and Roderick Strong vs. Sonjay Dutt would be great second-round matches. Alex Shelley vs. Roderick Strong and Homicide vs. Teddy Hart in the semi-finals, and Alex Shelley vs. Homicide in the finals.
PsychoDriver Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Just to update the BOTB field is now: Alex Shelley Roderick Strong Sonjay Dutt Ruckus Petey Williams Jimmy Rave B-Boy Bobby Quance Trent Acid Homicide Teddy Hart Nate Webb With Acid Vs. Homicide Vs. Hart being the first announced 1st round match. I guess Jardi Frantz and Sabian are out...
Guest Deviant Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Easily the best BOTB field to date. It all depends on how it's booked and which match combinations we get though.
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 addition final 1st round match in the xss tourney chris hero Vs mysterie opponent
Guest 5.0Fanatic Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Are they having the Best of the Best battle royal as well?
Guest Real F'n Show Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Are they having the Best of the Best battle royal as well? I would imagine, and probably a deathmatch as well. What do you guys think will be the other first round matches? I'm thinking maybe: B-Boy vs. Quance vs. Rave Ruckus vs. Petey Williams vs. Nate Webb Shelly vs. Strong vs. Sonjay Looks like a great show, especially with the addition of Chris Hero wrestling. Quance will definately get over with the fans, and I'm picking Roderick Strong to win it.
Guest 5.0Fanatic Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 If I had to guess, I would say: Petey Williams vs. Alex Shelly vs. Nate Webb B-Boy vs. Quance vs. Ruckus Rave vs. Strong vs. Sonjay Maybe its just my wishful thinking to arange them like this but I really wanna see Williams vs. Shelly and B-Boy vs. Quance
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 Alex Shelley VS Jimmy Rave VS Petey Williams Roderick Strong Vs Nate Webb Vs Sonjay Dutt Bobby Quance Vs B-Boy Vs Ruckus they probably will do a battle royle hopefully with much fewer people. i doubt a deathmatch. Deathmatches are more a main event thing but botb finals has been the main event of botb every year so far.
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 they continue to roll out the big guns there is an article on the czw site announceing for best of the best 2nd round xss match nick gage Vs dan maff
Guest Aecas Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 they continue to roll out the big guns there is an article on the czw site announceing for best of the best 2nd round xss match nick gage Vs dan maff Yeowch that match is going to be hard hitting to say the least.
Guest Real F'n Show Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Any guesses as to who Hero's opponent will be?
Guest 5.0Fanatic Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I can't remember, has Dahmer or Hatred competed in the XSS Tourney yet?
PsychoDriver Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I can't remember, has Dahmer or Hatred competed in the XSS Tourney yet? Dahmer has. He lost to Joker (I wonder who will replace him?) but Hatred hasn't been in it yet. I really didn't like the first Hero-Hatred match though... so I hope it's someone else. Like Arik Cannon maybe...
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 http://www.czwfans.com/BOTB_Vol2.wmv ^a must-see movie hyping the tournament.
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 no battle royle this year acording to the czw web site also messiah mondo zandig webb & dutt were in cali last week for promotional stuff for the second backyard wrestling video game. also messiah is skipping botb also it apears czw is fed up with wgtw and fakeyoutv will no longer appear on that station
1234-5678 Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 I'm considering going to this, but I barely know who any of these guys are.
Guest 5.0Fanatic Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 If you're digging 3PW, I'm sure you'd like CZW and all of these guys. There doesn't look like there will be one bad match on the card
JustJoe2k5 Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 I'm considering going to this, but I barely know who any of these guys are. If I had the chance to go, I would go just for Homicide vs. Teddy Hart vs. Trent Acid and you get that and the rest of the Best of the Best tournament which looks to be just as awesome. I usually wouldn't recommend CZW's recent shows, but this could easily be show of the year.
LucharesuFan619 Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 also messiah mondo zandig webb & dutt were in cali last week for promotional stuff for the second backyard wrestling video game. The show was last Tuesday in San Francisco and Sonjay beat El Drunko, The ICP beat the Psycho Surgeons, Messiah beat... Making his return to wrestling for the first time in six months, your and my (well, mine only probably because a lot of people hate him) VIC motherfucking GRIMES in a tables, light tubes, and chairs match, Zandig def. Nate Webb, and Madman Pondo def. Supreme. in a thumbtacks deathmatch when New Jack interfered.
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 czw has teased hero's opponent CZW owner John Zandig is in serious negotations with an international superstar to face "The Savior of CZW" the Iron Man Champion Chris Hero in the first round of the Xtreme Strong Style Tournament. This man, who's identity was not told to CZWWrestling.Com yet has competed in Japan and other countries and has had past PPV expierence. The announcement of who this man is expected within the next 24 hours so stay tuned to CZWWrestling.Com for more news and info on who this man is. czw has added a station in the south to the stations that carry fu tv KEJB-TV broadcasts to North Louisiana, South Arkansas & the fringe of West Mississippi
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I think CZW WANTS us to think it's gonna be Masato Tanaka or Low Ki, but it'll most likely be Kaz Miyamoto, since he's done TNA PPVs and will work Hero for H2 this weekend.
PsychoDriver Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I'm wrong but I really think it's Samoa Joe. He doesn't appear to be booked for PWG that day. Plus he's worked in Japan and The UK ("Other countries") and I think for Zero One on PPV. But Low-Ki Vs. Hero would be nice...
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 well since it did not say ppv experience in the usa it coude be just about anyone in japan as most puro feds have had ppv's in japan in the past.
JustJoe2k5 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I doubt they would mention the Pay-Per-View experience if it wasn't on American soil, but this is the same company that cheated the fans out of B-Boy vs. Teddy Hart so who knows what they'll pull. All of that aside, I am going to say Super Dragon will be the mystery opponent.
Guest 5.0Fanatic Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 As long as its not everyones favorite international superstar, NOSAWA, I think it will turn out ok. I know hes not "Strong Style", but is Spanky booked?
