Paul Heyman Possibly Starting New Wrestling Promotion

Posted By Ashish on 06.11.04

Strange new website up...

Over the last few weeks, readers have been notifying us of a strange wrestling website that has popped up recently. Although there is only one page to the website, the one page is very interesting, and could mean big things to the world or professional wrestling.

From www.cwa.com:

Greetings wrestling fans, one and all. Welcome to a world of controversy. Welcome to a world of violence and romance, of great wrestling and hardcore insanity. Welcome, to the Controversial...Wrestling...Association. I'm Paul Heyman, formerly of ECW and WWE fame. Some of you may remember me. It didn't take long for me to get back on the wrestling scene. Oh no, Paul E. is right back in the game. Bored with Raw? Sick of Smackdown? Not getting enough enjoyment out of Impact? Well then you've come to the right place. Be on the lookout. Because before you know it, the controversy will be hitting your TV. Thank you for your time.

This is all that is posted on the website. Dave Meltzer has not yet confirmed Heyman's involvement with a new wrestling promotion at this point in time, but we'll keep you posted as new information develops.

Meltzer Confirms Heyman's New Promotion; TV Deal Likely

Posted By Widro on 06.12.04

New company looking to compete with WWE

As we noted yesterday, Paul Heyman is once again involved with wrestling, bringing a new promotion to the table. While little is known about Heyman's company, Controversial Wrestling Association, Dave Meltzer has confirmed Heyman's involvement, and even said that Heyman is very close to signing a deal with the television network FX for a weekly show. Meltzer guesses that Heyman will likely want to compete with WWE, so a Monday night timeslot may be the case.

Breaking News, Paul Heyman's CWA Signs TV Deal with FX

Posted By Widro on 06.12.04

New Monday night show starting in 2 weeks...

Meltzer confirmed moments ago that the Controversial Wrestling Association has signed a television deal with the FX network. Meltzer says that a weekly show will run every Monday night at 11 eastern/10 central on the channel. With the show airing after Raw, Meltzer is not sure whether or not this will be good for the new company.

The deal has also been confirmed by Paul Heyman on the new federation's website, www.cwa.com:

Catch the Controversy in 2 Weeks

The Controversial Wrestling Association has just inked a deal with FX for a Monday Night TV show starting in 2 weeks. The show will air at 11/10 central every Monday for 2 hours. Company owner Paul Heyman says that the fans can expect the unexpected, and he has a great roster at his disposal. Workers for the company have been kept under wraps for over a month now, and in 2 weeks fans will finally be able to catch the CWA on national TV. You never know who will show up, or what will happen, so be sure to check out CWA TV, starting in 2 weeks at 11/10 central, only on FX!

This of course is very big news, as the WWE and TNA have some new found competition.

"Holy shit dude, it's the CWA debut show on FX!"

"Let's watch!"

CWA TV (Week 1 of 4 before PPV)

From Cleveland, Ohio

With your host, Joey Styles

OPENING SEGMENT: The old ECW theme hits as Paul Heyman makes his way out to a huge pop. He gets in the ring and explains what the CWA is all about. The most in your face wrestling in the world, he says. More hardcore, risky, and controversial then any wrestling company before it. This is the Controversial Wrestling Association. Heyman says it’s time to get down to business. He says some of the greatest athletes in the world are here to compete before the fans. He says that in 27 days, the CWA wrestlers will bring you New F’n Day, live and only on PPV. But tonight is not about New F’n Day. Tonight is about right fucking now. Tonight marks the beginning of the road to the CWA Title. He continues by saying that 2 first round matches will take place tonight in the CWA Title Tournament. They include:

Killings

Lesnar

Benoit

Lynn

And next week the other 2 first round matches will take place:

??? vs. ???

??? vs. ???

Heyman goes on to say that 2 weeks from tonight the first semi-final match will be held and 3 weeks from tonight the second semifinal will be held. And the CWA Title will be decided at New F’n Day, live on PPV in 27 days. He then goes on to say that the CWA isn’t just about the CWA Title. There is also the CWA Tag Titles, and the CWA Television Title, both of which will be decided at New F’n Day as well. He says the CWA Tag Team Titles will be given to the winner of a 4 team tournament that starts next week and ends at New F’n Day. The TV Title on the other hand will be decided in a best of 5 series between 2 of the greatest wrestlers in the world. And match 1 of this Best of 5 series is apparently up next.

COMMERCIAL

We return will ring announcer Bob Ortiz in the ring. The crowd pops huge as competitor number one in this Best of 5 series is announced. Please welcome, “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels!!!!!

And his opponent, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles!!!!!!!!!!!!! The crowd is going nuts with split chants of “AJ” and “Fallen Angel” and it looks like we are ready to get underway!

Match 1 of the Best of 5 Series

Daniels vs. Styles

THE ACTION: Both men go at in front of a rockin’ crowd, and tear the house down. Move after move, counter after counter, the crowd is on their feet in anticipation. Late in the match AJ tried the Styles Clash, only for Daniels to reverse it into an ankle lock! AJ almost tapped out, but realizing how important it was to go ahead in this series of matches, he fought out and clocked Daniels with an enziguri! He immediately followed with his quebrada reverse DDT for a heated nearfall. AJ tried to get Daniels up for the Styles Clash again, but Daniels fought off and nailed AJ with a lariat. Daniels tried his Best Moonsault Ever, but Styles rolled out of the ay. However, Daniels landed on his feet and planted AJ with an STO for yet another close fall. Daniels set AJ up for the Angel’s Wings, but AJ fought out, only to be caught in the Last Rites position. Just as Daniels spun for Last Rites, AJ countered into a reverse DDT. He then nailed Daniels with the Styles Clash to pick up the victory!!

WINNER: AJ Styles via pinfall in 16:27

COMMERCIAL

BACKSTAGE: DDP and Kanyon are talking! They say how great it is to be back in the same company. They continue talking and joking as the camera cuts away.

Joey talks about the new era of wrestling that the CWA brings to the table, and the off-the-charts matches we will see, like the AJ Styles vs. Chris Daniels from just a few minutes ago. The two will meet again in Match # 2 of the best of 5 series. Up next though, the CWA Title Tournament begins with Ron Killings up against Brock Lesnar.

First Round Tournament Match

Killings vs. Lesnar

Lesnar cuts a promo pre-match about how he will never like wrestling fans again after what happened to him the last time he wrestled. The fans start chanting “You Sold Out” at him, which only pisses him off more. He tells them to shut the fuck up before he comes out into the crowd and beats the shit out of every single one of them. He’s only back in wrestling for the money, and apparently he’s too good for the NFL.

THE ACTION: Lesnar dominates Killings most of the match with suplexes and power moves with Killings getting in an occasional hope spot. Lesnar starts getting too cocky mid-way through the match, taunting the fans and letting Killings slowly build a comeback. The crowd gets behind Killings and he fights out of an F5 attempt and nails Brock with an axe kick. Cover, but Brock kicks out! Killings goes for the Truth or Consequences, but Brock reverses and hits the F5! He covers, 1…2…but Brock lets Killings up at 2! Brock starts jawing with the fans again as they continue to get under his skin with chants of “You Sold Out”. He finally turns around, and Killings is back up! Ron tries a rana, but Brock blocks it and plants Killings with a spiral powerbomb! 1…2…but Brock lets Killings up again! The crowd chants are getting even louder now and Brock even goes so far as to get out of the ring and get into with a fan in the front row, even taking the fan’s beer and pouring it on him. The fan takes a swing at Brock but security grabs him and takes him away. Brock flips off the crowd and gets back into the ring. He toys with Killings some more, and then hoists him up for another F5. However, Killings falls back into a crucifix and gets the 3 count!!!! Ron Killings defeats Brock Lesnar, and Brock is fucking PISSED! He grabs Killings and starts beating the shit out of him. He grabs a chair and starts pounding the fuck out of Killings with the chair. Brock sandwiches Killings head in the chair and starts beating it with another chair as officials run out to try and stop what is going on. Brock simply smashes the officials with the chair and continues destroying Killings, eventually F5ing him out of the ring and through the timekeeper’s table!!!! Brock leaves as Killings is checked on by officials and medics, before being loaded onto a stretcher.

WINNER: Ron Killings via pinfall in 12:08

COMMERCIAL

We return as Joey is SHOCKED by Brock’s actions.

Sirens hit as Bob Ortiz announces “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner and Midajah to the ring.

PROMO: Steiner gets on the mic and says some of his trademark stuff. The basic point is he is in a bad mood after not being entered into the Title Tournament. He threatens to destroy the CWA-Tron if Heyman doesn’t come out here right now and give him what he wants. Heyman walks out with a worried look on his face. He tells Steiner not to destroy anything, and to tell him what he wants. Steiner says he wants an apology first of all for not putting him in the tournament. Heyman says that Steiner could still be in the tournament because there are 4 spots still open. Steiner tells Paul not to give him that bullshit, he knows who the other four are, and one of them is not him. Heyman eventually apologizes and starts to head to the back, but Steiner says that’s not all. Since he was left out of the tournament, he wants a chance to showcase his abilities in the ring, just like the 8 guys in the tournament. Heyman says that’s fine, and next week, Steiner will meet a close friend of his. Eventually Steiner agrees.

Meanwhile, Joey ponders who Steiner will be facing next week. He also runs down the rest of next week’s card. Boy that ??? guy sure is in a lot of matches:

Steiner vs. ???

Styles vs. Daniels

Tag Tournament Begins

CWA Title Tournament Continues:

??? vs. ???

??? vs. ???

Apparently we know Steiner is not one of the ??? in the tournament.

Joey says up next is the main event.

COMMERCIAL

We’re back with Ortiz in the ring, announcing Jerry F’n Lynn to a big round of applause. Then the crowd erupts for the Crippler himself, Mr. Chris Benoit!!!

First Round Tournament Match

Lynn vs. Benoit

THE ACTION: Both men give it their all to give the fans a great first main event for the CWA. Lynn starts bleeding buckets after being busted open on the guard rail, but surprisingly the pace doesn’t slow down much. Benoit kills Lynn with some old school moves he hasn’t used in forever, including a dragon suplex and tombstone piledriver, both for heated nearfalls. Jerry impresses the fans by hanging with the former WWE World Champ, including hitting a sick tornado DDT off the apron, planting Benoit neck first on the outside. Jerry also hits a sunset flip powerbomb off the ropes, driving Benoit onto a chair late in the match, and almost gets the win, with Benoit barely getting his foot on the bottom rope. Benoit slowly fights back, and almost gets Jerry in the Crossface, but Lynn rolls through and just boots Benoit right in the face. Benoit retaliates by chopping the fuck out of Lynn’s chest. He then german suplexes Lynn to hell, driving him down to the mat straight on his neck! Benoit climbs up top and hits the headbutt! 1…2….but Jerry kicks out! HOLY SHIT! Lynn is bleeding buckets from his forehead, and he is also bleeding from his chest from the chops! Sick. Benoit is now looking for a way to put his opponent away. He sets Lynn up for a superplex, but Lynn shoves him off the top and follows with a guillotine legdrop! 1…2….NO!!! Jerry puts Benoit on the top rope and tries a frankensteiner, but Benoit counters mid-move, and kills Jerry fucking DEAD with a top rope WILD BOMB! Holy FUCKING SHIT, Jerry is out cold! 1….2….3!!!

WINNER: Chris Benoit via pinfall in 24:21

****1/4

After the match, both men shake hands as the crowd gives them a standing ovation. Jerry almost passes out from blood-loss, but Benoit helps him to his feet. Paramedics walk Lynn to the back as the crowd chants “Jerry!”

Fade to black.

"Dude, CWA TV kicked so much ass last week."

"Yeah, I'll definately be watching again."

CWA TV (Week 2 of 4 before New F’n Day)

From Detroit, Michigan

With your host, Joey Styles

Joey welcomes us to the show and runs down what we will see live tonight on CWA TV:

Steiner vs. ???

Styles vs. Daniels

Tag Tournament Begins

CWA Title Tournament Continues:

??? vs. ???

??? vs. ???

It looks like we’re kicking things off this week with a match.

First Round Tag Tournament Match

Technically Gifted vs. Currency Connection

(Benjamin/Haas) (Kid Kash/EZ Money)

THE ACTION: CWA’s first tag team match kicks off the show, and it’s not just a tag team match, but a match where the winners advance to New F’n Day to fight for the CWA Tag Team Titles. Great double team moves from both teams, including Benjamin bodyslamming Kash onto Haas’ knee, and Kash and Money hitting Technically Gifted with stereo somersault planchas. EZ Money nails Haas with his Money Clip, rope flip clothesline, and The Currency Connection grab Shelton. They set him up for a double fisherman’s suplex but hold him in the air, possibly looking for a double muscle buster. Benjamin fights out however and nails Money with a superkick! Haas then gives Kash a bridging german suplex! 1…2…3! Technically Gifted get a nice ovation for their victory. They head to the back as Gorgeous George makes her way out! She gets in the ring and says something to Kash and Money. The 3 of them leave together.

WINNERS: Technically Gifted via pinfall in 8:44

COMMERCIAL

We return with ring announcer Bob Ortiz in the ring. He says that up next is a first round match in the CWA Title Tournament. Introducing first, Rob…Van…Dam!!!! The crowd pops huge for Van Dam’s entrance.

And his opponent, Eddie Guerrero!!!!!!!!!!! The crowd pops even bigger at this announcement. Eddie makes his way to the ring to kick off what should be an excellent contest.

First Round Tournament Match

Van Dam vs. Guerrero

THE ACTION: The crowd is split on who to cheer for here, as “Eddie!” and “RVD!” chants resound throughout the building. Both men give it their all in this match, with hopes of advancing to the semi-finals. Van Dam hits some of his flippity flop offense to pop the crowd while Eddie works on Van Dam’s legs to try and slow him down. Eddie hits a kneebreaker, and segues directly into a figure four leglock, shades of “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. RVD fights out but Eddie stays in control. He sets Rob up for a superplex, but RVD shoves him off and connects with a flying side kick from the top! He tries to hit Rolling Thunder, but his leg gives out! Eddie goes right back to work on the leg, this time locking in the El Paso Lasso! Van Dam almost taps, but is flexible enough to stretch his way to the ropes. RVD fights back with some kicks and punches, all the while selling the leg. He nails a nice northern lights suplex, but can’t hold the bridge because of his sore leg. Instead he slowly climbs up top and leaps off with the Five Star Frogsplash! But Eddie moves out of the way! He locks Van Dam in a version of the Indian Deathlock, and Van Dam gives up! The crowd applauds both men as RVD heads to the back and Eddie celebrates in the ring.

WINNER: Eddie Guerrero via pinfall in 13:15

***3/4

We see highlights of last week’s match between Styles and Daniels. Joey says that up next, we will see Match 2 of the Best of 5 series!

COMMERCIAL

We return with “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels being introduced to a good reaction.

AJ Styles is then announced to an even better reaction. The fans are in anticipation for this one, and it’s only match 2.

Match 2 of the Best of 5 Series

Daniels vs. Styles

THE ACTION: These two pick up where they left off, as the crowd is way into this match. Daniels controls early and hits a beautiful single leg dropkick. He dominates AJ with his methodical offense, but eeventually AJ fights back and busts out a cool spot. Styles hits Daniels with a nice top rope asai moonsault to the outside in one of the best spots of the match. Back in, Daniels fights back with a great STO and the Best Moonsault EVER! 1…2…kick out! “The Fallen Angel” whips AJ to the ropes, only to be met with a huge clothesline! And another! And another! Styles nails a beautiful leaping enziguri kick! He tries for his quebrada reverse DDT, but in an awesome counter, Daniels turns around as Styles springboards, and plants AJ with an inverted atomic drop as Styles lands! Daniels picks AJ up, but AJ nails him with a forearm to the head and a spinning clothesline! AJ tries for the Styles Clash, but Daniels fights out and hits AJ with the final cut. He then picks Styles up and nails the Angel’s Wings! 1…2…3!

WINNER: Chris Daniels via pinfall in 11:58

***1/2

Up next, we’ll hear from Brock Lesnar.

COMMERCIAL

PROMO: Lesnar is backstage. He says that thanks to some punk named Ron Killings, he is out of the CWA Title Tournament. Apparently Killings didn’t know who he was messing with, but now he does. Killings should think twice about pinning Brock Lesnar, because now he’s in the hospital with 3 broken ribs and a fractured shoulder. Lesnar says if anyone else makes him mad from now on, they can expect the same.

Joey says that Killings may not be able to compete in his semi-final match next week. If this is the case, Chris Benoit will receive an automatic bye into the finals.

BACKSTAGE: Scott Steiner is warming up for his match against a mystery opponent.

Up next is the final First Round Match in the CWA Title Tournament!

COMMERCIAL

Bob Ortiz announces, Masato Tanaka! He comes out to a decent reaction, as some fans remember him from ECW.

And his opponent is….TAZ! The Human Suplex Machine comes out, fresh off his WWE release, and ready to wrestle!

First Round Tournament Match

Tanaka vs. Taz

THE ACTION: Both men pulverize each other in this hard hitting match. Suplexes and clotheslines from Taz, Forearms and more suplexes from Tanaka. A chair gets introduced fairly early in the match, and gets planted against Tanaka’s head! He’s still up! And two more brutal chairshots from Taz! And Tanaka finally goes down. But he’s getting back up! Fighting Spirit!! But Taz kills him again with a release dragon suplex! Fuck. Taz goes to get a table as Tanaka slowly comes to life again, and rolls outside for ANOTHER chair! Is he crazy? Taz is over big time as a badass with this crowd, while Tanaka is quickly getting over as the guy who won’t give up. Taz props the table in the corner of the ring, but turns around right into a chairshot from Tanaka! Tanaka then nails Taz with a tornado DDT onto 2 chairs! 1…2…Taz kicks out! Tanaka goes for the roaring elbow, but Taz ducks, and puts Tanaka through the table in the corner with a release german suplex! Holy fuck that looked painful. Both men are down as the crowd starts getting behind both men. Taz slowly gets to his feet, and Tanaka soon follows, but stumbles back right into the Tazmission! Tanaka may pass out from the pain! No, he fights loose!! Tanaka bounces off the ropes, and nails the roaring elbow!! 1…2…but Taz kicks out! I don’t believe it! Tanaka drags Taz to the corner and tries the Diamond Dust onto the 2 chairs, but Taz fights him off and nails Tanaka with a top rope head-arm suplex onto the chairs!!! 1…2…3! This war is over. Both men receive a standing ovation after the match from the crowd.

WINNER: Taz via pinfall in 12:45

***3/4 based on sheer brutality

COMMERCIAL

And we’re back as Joey talks about Scott Steiner. He then runs down the card for next week:

Daniels vs. Styles

Tag Tournament Continues

Benoit vs. Killings (may not happen if Killings is not cleared to wrestle)

Sirens hit as Steiner and Midajah make their way out for Steiner’s match.

Heyman comes out and tells Steiner there is no way to prepare for his opponent. His opponent is one of the most unpredictable, and crazy men in wrestling. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, MICK FOLEY!!!!!

Holy shit, the roof of the arena is almost blown off from Foley’s pop. Steiner looks shocked that he has to face Foley, but realizes he got himself into this, and charges at Foley while he makes his entrance.

Steiner vs. Foley

THE ACTION: Steiner pounds away on Foley in the isleway. The two brawl all over the arena, as the crowd goes nuts for everything Foley does. Mick pulls out a chair from under the ring and hammers away on Steiner’s back, but Steiner catches a shot aimed at his head and levels Foley with a sick chairshot to the face! Big Poppa Pump then gives Foley a belly to belly suplex on the concrete floor! He rolls Foley back into the ring and covers, 1…2…kick out! Steiner heads outside the ring and grabs the timekeeper’s table from ringside. He slides it into the ring and starts setting it up, but Foley attacks him from behind. Mick nails Steiner in the head with the chair and then hits the double arm DDT on the chair! 1…2…but Steiner somehow gets his shoulder up. Mick then motions to the crowd, before pulling out the world famous Mr. Socko! Steiner slowly gets up and Mick tries to shove the sock in Scott’s mouth, but Steiner quickly dodges it and gives Mick a t-bone suplex through the partially set up table!! 1…2…but Mick kicks out! Steiner grabs Foley around the neck and is about to put him in the Steiner Recliner, but Mick elbows him in the gut repeatedly, breaking the hold. He then gives Steiner Mr. Socko! Steiner struggles around the ring with the sock in his mouth as Foley won’t let go! Steiner may have to give up, but no! He kicks Foley low in a desperation low blow! He then grabs Mick and kills him dead with a fucking Steiner Screwdriver on the steel chair!!!! Holy SHIT! 1…2…3 as the pin is academic. Scott Steiner defeats Mick Foley. He slowly gets up and stands over Foley, taunting the fans with his peaks. The crowd is booing him unmercifully and throwing trash into the ring.

WINNER: Scott Steiner via pinfall in 16:23

**3/4

Joey questions if Scott Steiner really is as good as he says he is.

Fade to black.

"Man, Steiner beat Foley's ass last week."

"Yeah, but ya gotta admit, it was damn entertaining."

CWA TV (Week 3 of 4 before New F’n Day)

From Minneapolis, Minnesota

With your host, Joey Styles

OPENING PROMO: Scott Steiner and Midajah make their way to the ring as we come on the air. Steiner cuts a promo about how he’s an unstoppable machine as the crowd chants “Your on Steroids”. Steiner tells them to shut the fuck up. He says last week he beat a hardcore legend named Mick Foley. But that still doesn’t make up for him being left out of the Tournament. He says that New F’n Day is 2 weeks away, and if he’s left off the card, it will be Heyman’s head.

Highlights are shown of last week’s Styles/Daniels match.

Match 3 of the Best of 5 Series

Daniels vs. Styles

THE ACTION: Crowd isn’t quite as hot as the previous 2 weeks, but that’s just because we’re in Minneapolis. Another great match from these two, but not as fast paced. More submissions are used, including a sweet Muta Lock segued into an inverted Muta lock from Styles. He takes out Daniels with a somersault plancha and the crowd finally seems to come alive. Back in the ring, Daniels takes control with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. He taunts AJ, but walks right into a kip-up rana. AJ hits the vertical suplex into a neckbreaker for a close nearfall. He follows with a german suplex rolled through into a faceplant! 1…2…Daniels gets his foot on the ropes. AJ sets Daniels up for the Styles Clash, but The Fallen Angel counters with a back body drop. Daniels then nails a sweet shining enziguri to the back of AJ’s head! 1…2…kick out! Daniels tries his Best Moonsault Ever, but Styles rolls out of the way! Daniels lands on his feet and Styles immediately tries his quebrada reverse DDT, but Daniels reverses it into the Last Rites! 1…2…3! Daniels goes up 2 to 1 in the series!

WINNER: Chris Daniels via pinfall in 14:34

***3/4

COMMERCIAL

BACKSTAGE: We return with Paul Heyman talking to Jerry Lynn backstage. Heyman tells Jerry that he was very impressed with his match 2 weeks ago. He tells Jerry that he’s a great talent to have, and he’s booking him in a great match at the PPV. He says that at New F’n Day in 2 weeks, it will be Jerry Lynn vs. RVD. He also tells Lynn that Killings isn’t cleared to wrestle tonight against Benoit, so now he doesn’t have a main event. He thinks that since Jerry is in his hometown, he should main event. His opponent: Masato Tanaka.

BACKSTAGE: It’s DDP and Kanyon. Kanyon says that he convinced Paul E. to give them a tag match tonight.

Currency Connection vs. DDP and Kanyon

THE ACTION: Kash and Money are accompanied by Gorgeous George. DDP and Kanyon get a nice pop. Kanyon works most of the match for his team as Money and Kash play the heels. They use some cool double teams including a double northern lights suplex on Kanyon. Kanyon fights back with his own unique offense, at one point even putting EZ Money in a boston crab on the top rope. Kash and Money’s heel double teaming, along with Gorgeous George interference makes Kanyon the face in peril. Eventually he gets the hot tag to DDP, who cleans house. He levels Kash with a clothesline sending him out of the ring, and hits Money with the Diamond Cutter for the win!

WINNERS: DDP and Kanyon via pinfall in 7:31

COMMERCIAL

BACKSTAGE: The Sinister Minister cuts a promo, with Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri in the background! The Unholy Alliance is back! He says tonight they will destroy the opposition and go on to New F’n Day to win the belts. Meanwhile in the background, Tajiri accidentally lights Mikey on fire! Tajiri starts freaking out and Mikey doesn’t know his shirt is on fire! Mikey wonders why Tajiri is freaking out but Tajiri starts acting like nothing is wrong.

Paul Heyman is now in his office. Suddenly Brock Lesnar comes charging in. Brock stares at Heyman, and Heyman tells Brock to sit down. Brock asks Heyman what he needs to talk to him about. Heyman says that Brock’s promo last week convinced him that Brock truly is a monster. He says that someone like Brock deserves to still be in the tournament, but he lost fair and square. He will do the next best thing however, and that is, at New F’n Day, Brock Lesnar will meet Masato Tanaka for the #1 Contendership to the CWA Title. Brock grins before leaving Heyman’s office.

First Round Tag Tournament Match

Unholy Alliance vs. Los Locos Mexicanos

(Whipwreck/Tajiri) (Super Crazy/Psicosis)

THE ACTION: Great fast-paced match here, with the crowd finally getting into the match about halfway through. Mikey and Tajiri bust out some sweet double teams including a leg pull through slam type of thing. Crazy and Psicosis do put up a great fight though, even hitting The Unholy Alliance with stereo asai moonsaults! Back in the ring, Mikey and Tajiri hit stereo straight jacket suplexes! 1…2…double kick out! 2 chairs get involved and Mikey and Tajiri end up baseball sliding both chairs into Crazy and Psicosis’ faces! Mikey then gets a table from ringside as Tajiri and Crazy go at it. Crazy hits a sweet Ligerbomb for a nearfall. Psicosis tries to give Tajiri the guillotine legdrop, but Mikey attacks him from behind and gives Psicosis a top rope Whippersnapper! Tajiri then sets Super Crazy on the table that Mikey brought in and gives him a top rope double foot stomp through the table!!! Holy shit! Mikey and Tajiri grab Psicosis, double brainbuster! 1…2…3! Mikey and Tajiri advance to the PPV!

WINNERS: Unholy Alliance via pinfall in 13:11

***3/4

COMMERCIAL

BACKSTAGE: Taz is in a dark room with a towel over his head. He cuts a promo on being back. It’s the old ECW Taz too, not that motherfuckin pussy from the WWE. Taz goes on to say “fuck” about 80 more times and says that next week, Eddie Guerrero will be just another victim. Beat him if you can, survive if he lets you.

Joey goes over what will happen next week on CWA TV:

Daniels vs. Styles

Guerrero vs. Taz

Plus tons more. Don’t miss the last show before New F’n Day.

Suddenly Chris Benoit’s music hits! He’s out to the ring, but not dressed to wrestle. He cuts a promo, saying that even though he only had to win one match to get to New F’n Day, that doesn’t make him any worse off than whoever his opponent is. He’s the best technical wrestler here too. At New F’n Day, he’ll become the first ever CWA Champ. I guess you’ll have to order it to see if he’s right. Or just watch the show after the PPV.

COMMERCIAL

We’re back as ring announcer Bob Ortiz announces Masato Fucking Tanaka! He comes out to a decent reaction.

Out next, the hometown hero, JERRY LYNN! He arrives to a large pop and the crowd is way hot for Jerry, chanting his name before the match even starts. It’s main event time kiddies, and it should be a doozy.

Tanaka vs. Lynn

THE ACTION: Great main event here, with 2 of the toughest guys in the business going at it. Jerry goes all out for his hometown fans, bleeding buckets, AGAIN. Who is he, Steve Corino? A chair gets introduced, and a bloody Jerry just SMOKES Tanaka in the head with it. 3 times. But Tanaka’s back up! Jerry charges but Tanaka dropkicks the chair into his face! There’s blood all over the place. Tanaka gives Lynn a snap powerslam! 1…2..but Jerry kicks out! Tanaka tries the roaring elbow, but Jerry ducks and plants Tanaka on his neck with a release german. But Tanaka rolls through, and nails Jerry when he turns around with the roaring elbow! 1…2…kick out at 2 and 9/10!! Death Valley Driver from Tanaka! 1…2…another kickout! Jerry won’t stay down. Tanaka’s going up top, frogsplash! Misses! Jerry hits a TKO! 1…2…kick out by Tanaka! Jerry hits Tanaka with his version of the Van Daminator! 1…2…Tanaka JUST gets the shoulder off the canvas. Lynn picks Tanaka up for an Air Raid Crash, but Tanaka fights out. He charges Jerry, but gets kicked in the gut! Cradle Piledriver! No! Tanaka backdrops out! Running elbow smash! Tanaka drags Lynn to the corner and hits the Diamond Dust! 1…2….NO! Neither man can put the other away! Tanaka goes outside and grabs another chair. He sets both chairs on the mat and nails Jerry with a tornado DDT on the two chairs! 1…2…Jerry kicks out! Holy shit, what a match. Lynn is a bloody mess. Both men back up, and we have a chopfest~! Lynn gets the better of it and kicks Tanaka in the gut! Cradle Piledriver!! 1…2…but TANAKA KICKS OUT! Sweet mother. Both men back up again and Tanaka kills Lynn with another running elbow smash. He sits Jerry on the top rope, and follows him up there. Tanaka looks to be trying for a superplex onto the two chairs in the ring! No, Jerry fights it off and now both men are standing on the top rope. Lynn grabs Tanaka by the head, and hits a motherfucking TORNADO DDT while both men are standing on the top rope, to the outside, and through the fucking timekeeper’s table!!!!! Holy shit, bump of the year!! Both guys are out cold, possibly dead. The ref doesn’t know what to do, so he calls out some paramedics. They check on both men and bring out stretchers, but they both somehow get to their feet! Lynn rolls Tanaka back into the ring and covers! 1….2….3! Lynn wins one HELL of a match.

WINNER: Jerry Lynn via pinfall in 20:08

****1/4 sick fucking match

Joey Styles is going nuts and the crowd continues chanting “Jerry” as Tanaka and Lynn shake hands, before both collapsing. Paramedics help both guys to the back.

Fade to black.

Guest Real F'n Show

from www.cwa.com

CWA: From a fan's perspective

Hello CWA fans and FX viewers, my name is Real F'n Show, and I've been a wrestling fan since 1995. I sent this column to the webmaster of cwa.com, in hopes of him putting it up on the site. So, if you're reading this, he probably did.

So anyway, a little over three weeks ago, I was flipping through channels after Raw had just gotten over, and I stumbled upon CWA TV. I had read about this on the net, as it was all over 411mania.com and even Dave Meltzer had talked about it. Even though I had heard about it, I completely forgot about it, and luckily stumbled across it while channel surfing. And I'm glad I found it.

The Controversial Wrestling Association brings something new to the table. Paul Heyman, who alot of people will recognize from ECW and the WWE, was the mastermind behind this new wrestling promotion. Sure, I'll watch WWE and TNA, but if I had to choose, I'd take CWA over either of them right now. You see, CWA is different. Sure they have former WWE talent in the likes of Chris Benoit (the company's champion), Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam, and The Dudley Boys. But they also have alot of young talent, that most WWE fans have never heard of. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, and Kid Kash are just a few of these names. These guys are just as talented as the veterans, and work just as hard as well.

Well, after watching the first CWA TV show, lets just say, I was impressed. The show had a TV-MA warning at the beginning, so it's definately not recommended for family viewing. So if your whole family likes to watch wrestling on Monday nights, send the kids to bed after Raw. But be sure to check out the show yourself. There is a reason for the TV-MA warning, which is the incredible amounts of violence that occur during each match, and some harsh language. But no, this isn't some crappy, XPW-like fed that's trying to make a name for itself by being too "risky" for televison. Oh no. You see, beneath all of the violence in the ring, you will notice that CWA's wrestlers actaully "wrestle." Sure, the occasional chair or table will be used, but these are some of the best athletes in the world. There is a perfect example in the Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Benoit match from the first show. Sure, a steel chair was used as the competitors busted each others skulls open, but if you look deeper, you'll find some of the best wrestling that the world has to offer. And with world-class athletes such as Benoit, Lynn, Eddie Guerrero, and Rob Van Dam, how can there not be?

Heyman really did an awesome job in selecting the best for his roster. No "hosses" as they're sometimes referred to on the net. You won't see 400 pound men that couldn't wrestle to save their life in the CWA ring, let me tell you that. And I'm not saying that the CWA roster is all little guys either. There's guys like Brock Lesnar, a big man who actually CAN wrestle.

So after watching the debut show from start to finish, I was already a CWA fanatic. I got on the net and started telling other wrestling fans on message boards to check it out. And of course, I was looking forward to next Monday night, when the second episode would air. I watched Raw that night, not really caring much, but as soon as it was over, man was I hyped! CWA's second show was just as good as the first one, if not better. And the week after that, the third show was excellent as well.

So far, I've only seen 3 CWA shows, but I'm already hooked on buying their PPV, "New F'n Day" next Sunday. And if you want to see what all the buzz is about, I suggest that you do too. Thanks for reading.

Lynn's doing better here than with "Sex Addict" gimmick in World's Worst.. ;)

good stuff

Although extremely disturbing that you stuck him with that gimmick, it works in a really creepy way.

"Are you gonna watch CWA TV again tonight?"

"Shit, I have date planned, but I guess I'll tell that bitch she has to wait."

CWA TV (Week 4 of 4 before New F’n Day)

From Milwaukee, Wisconsin

With your host, Joey Styles

Joey welcomes us to the show, and we are just 6 days away from New F’n Day live on PPV, this Sunday! Joey says tonight the final Tournament Match will take place, with Eddie Guerrero going one on one with Taz! Joey is interrupted by The Currency Connection’s music, as they make their way to the ring along with Gorgeous George. It looks like we’re kicking things off with a match.

Currency Connection vs. Los Locos Mexicanos

(Kid Kash/EZ Money) (Super Crazy/Psicosis)

THE ACTION: Nice little spotfest to kick off the show. Crazy and Psicosis quickly send their opponents outside with stereo flying headscissors, and follow with stereo asai moonsaults to the delight of the crowd. Back in the ring, it’s back and forth action, with neither team staying in control for very long. Kash and Money show off some innovative teamwork as Money gives Psicosis a face-first suplex right onto Kash’s knee. Los Mexicanos regain the advantage, only for Gorgeous George to trip up Super Crazy as he runs the ropes. Kash and Money try for their Cha-Ching, double muscle buster, but Crazy slips out, and he and Psicosis hit stereo hurricanranas for the flash double pin!

WINNERS: Los Locos Mexicanos via pinfall in 9:03

**1/2

COMMERCIAL

BACKSTAGE: The Currency Connection are pissed off that they lost again, and are in Heyman’s office, asking for a rematch. Heyman says fine, and at New F’n Day, it will be Kid Kash and EZ Money vs. Los Locos Mexicanos. BUT, if Kash and Money don’t win, then Gorgeous George has to take her top off in front of the entire PPV audience. George is about to protest, but Kash quickly agrees with the deal, upsetting Gorgeous George. They leave the office, and Kash assures her that she won’t be taking her top off, because there’s no way they can lose again. I smell PPV ratings.

BACKSTAGE: Jerry Lynn and Rob Van Dam are arguing about their match at New F’n Day. RVD says that Lynn’s been very impressive the last couple of weeks, but everybody knows that R…V…D is winning. Lynn says that the best man will win.

Back to ringside, as Brock Lesnar’s music hits. He comes to the ring in street clothes.

PROMO: Brock cuts your basic heel promo, while making fun of fans at ringside. He taunts a fat guy to get in the ring so he can beat the pounds off of him. The basic point to the promo is that Lesnar’s seen Tanaka the last couple of weeks, and he knows what to expect at New F’n Day. Tanaka may be tough, but Brock is tougher. At the PPV this Sunday, Brock Lesnar will become the #1 contender to the CWA Title, whether the fans like it or not.

COMMERCIAL

We return with Bob Ortiz in the ring, announcing Chris Daniels. He comes out to a mixed reaction, but the fans are already buzzing for this match.

Next up, Ortiz announces AJ Styles to a huge pop. Styles has quickly gotten over with the CWA fans for his innovative and high flying offense. Joey says that AJ must win tonight, or Daniels becomes TV champion and there will be no match 5 at the PPV.

Match 4 of the Best of 5 Series

Daniels vs. Styles

THE ACTION: Yet another great match from these two, with a hot crowd making it even better. This is probably the most spot oriented match of the series so far. Daniels uses more highflying then he has thus far in CWA. He busts out a lionsault for a close fall in the earlier stages of the match. Daniels tries the Blue Thunder Bomb later in the match, but AJ reverses it into a hurricanrana in a cool spot. Daniels rolls outside to take a breather, but AJ has none of that, and runs off the ropes, possibly looking for a highspot. Daniels moves out of the way, however, and AJ is forced to put on the brakes. Daniels tricks AJ to coming outside the ring, where “The Fallen Angel” whips Styles into the steel steps. Daniels then climbs to the apron, and hits his awesome rope bounce moonsault to the outside! The crowd ate that up. Daniels continues to be in control, as the crowd gets behind AJ. Eventually Daniels misses his Best Moonsault Ever, and AJ takes over! Quebrada reverse DDT! 1…2…Daniels kicks out! AJ tries a northern lights suplex, but Daniels knees him in the face and hits the Angel’s Wings! 1…2…kick out! Daniels tries the Last Rites, but AJ counters by jumping up and kicking Daniels in the head! Styles Clash! 1…2….but Daniels gets his foot on the ropes!! AJ is heading up top, Spiral Tap!! 1…2…3!

WINNER: AJ Styles via pinfall in 12:16

***1/2

COMMERCIAL

We return with sirens playing and Scott Steiner, with Midajah, making their way out. Steiner says that Heyman better tell him that he has a match at the PPV right now. After a few moments of silence, Mick Foley’s music hits! Foley comes out to a huge pop, probably the biggest of the night. Steiner demands to know what Foley wants. Foley says he just got done talking with Paul Heyman, and Steiner has his match at the PPV, against him! Steiner says that he already beat the shit out of Foley two weeks ago and calls Mick a pussy. Foley says that he is a pussy, so he called upon someone else to beat Steiner. And that person is….CACTUS JACK!!!!! That’s right, Cactus Jack is back! Bang Bang! Foley rips off his shirt to reveal the Cactus Jack attire. Steiner looks a little worried, but says that it’s no problem. He pinned Foley two weeks ago, and it will be no different pinning Cactus Jack. Cactus tells Steiner that pinning won’t work in this kind of match. Steiner asks what the hell Cactus is talking about. Jack says that at New F’n Day this Sunday, it’s going to be Scott Steiner vs. Cactus Jack, in an I QUIT MATCH! Steiner freaks out now, as Cactus says “Bang Bang!” and leaves.

COMMERCIAL

BACKSTAGE: Steiner is in Heyman’s office. He’s super pissed that Paul booked him against Cactus Jack in an I Quit match. Heyman says that he thought Steiner would be able to handle it. Steiner gets an angry look on his face and leaves Heyman’s office, slamming the door behind him.

Joey Styles runs down the New F’n Day card, which is this Sunday, live and only on PPV:

Steiner vs. Cactus in an I Quit match

Lesnar vs. Tanaka for the #1 contendership to the CWA Title

RVD vs. Lynn

Daniels vs. Styles for the TV Title

Unholy Alliance vs. Technically Gifted for the Tag Titles

Currency Connection vs. Los Locos Mexicanos where if Kash and Money lose, their valet Gorgeous George must take off her top in front of the entire PPV audience.

And of course, Benoit vs. the winner of tonight’s main event for the CWA Title

And speaking of tonight’s main event, it’s up next!

COMMERCIAL

We return as Taz makes his way out to loud mixed reactions.

The Eddie Guerrero arrives to a huge pop. He gets in the ring as our main event is underway…

Semi-final Tournament Match

Taz vs. Guerrero

THE ACTION: Taz plays the heel for this match, and the crowd is firmly behind Eddie already, although a few are cheering for Taz. Another great main event for CWA TV, which is becoming a trend very quickly. Taz uses his suplexes and various submissions to try and get the win early, while Eddie stays in the match with his speed and technical expertise. Midway through the match Taz brings a table into the ring. He starts setting it up in the corner but Eddie attacks him from behind. Eddie hits the rolling vertical suplexes! 1…2…Taz kicks out! Eddie stays in control though, locking Taz in the El Paso Lasso!! Taz is in the middle of the ring with nowhere to go, but he somehow powers out of the move with great leg strength. Eddie continues working on the leg of Taz, even busting out a ringpost figure four! Taz can barely stand on his leg, but fights back anyway, grounding Eddie with a release head-arm suplex! 1…2…Eddie kicks out! Taz is still limping, but he gets up. Tazmission on Eddie!!Eddie may have to tap out here, as it’s not looking good. Eddie slowly starts fading as the crowd chants his name. Suddenly Eddie uses a burst of energy to run up the table that Taz set up in the corner and fall back in the Tazmission in a pinning predicament!! 1…2…NO! Taz gets his left shoulder up. Taz continues selling the leg as both men get to their feet. Eddie charges Taz, but Taz nails a super fast overhead release belly to belly suplex, sending Eddie through the table in the corner!!! 1…2….Eddie kicks out!! The crowd is getting pumped now. Taz pulls Eddie up and tries a german suplex, but Eddie flips out and dropkicks Taz’s injured leg! Eddie tries the El Paso Lasso again, but Taz is able to kick him off!! Taz gets up and hits Eddie with a northern lights suplex bridge! 1…2..but Taz can’t hold the cover because of his leg! Taz tries for the Tazmission again, but Eddie rolls forward into a unique leg submission!!! Taz is screaming in pain as Eddie looks to be on the verge of winning, but somehow Taz jolts forward and gets to the ropes! Taz’s knee is fucked though, and Eddie heads up top and hits the frogsplash, right onto Taz’s injured leg!!! FUCK! Eddie then locks Taz back in the El Paso Lasso, and Taz taps out!!!! Eddie vs. Benoit for the CWA Title at New F’n Day!!!

WINNER: Eddie Guerrero via submission in 19:17

****

After the match, Eddie offers Taz a handshake, but Taz refuses. He grabs a mic and says he doesn’t deserve to shake Eddie’s hand, and calls himself a worthless piece of shit. An angry Taz then heads to the back as Eddie continues celebrating in the ring. Suddenly Chris Benoit’s music hits! Eddie stares at the entrance as Benoit makes his way to the ring. Benoit stops at ringside and the two men stare each other down.

Fade to black.

MAIN EVENT

CWA TITLE TOURNAMENT FINAL

Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero

31.jpg24.jpg

Two of the greatest wrestlers to ever step into the squared circle will face off this Sunday night with the ultimate prize on the line: The CWA Title. These two have gone toe to toe their entire careers, and with gold on the line, this should be one for the ages. In what could be an all-time classic, these two will battle it out in front of the CWA fans, until a champion is crowned.

I QUIT MATCH

Scott Steiner vs. Cactus Jack

Steiner destroyed Mick Foley in their first meeting, but he has never faced Cactus Jack. And with Steiner unable to pin Cactus in this match, if Steiner wants to win, he’ll have to make him say “I Quit.” This match could be the most brutal match in wrestling history, and you’ll have to tune in to see who says these two dreadful words.

#1 CONTENDERS MATCH

Masato Tanaka vs. Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is not happy. Not only did he lose to Ron Killings, but he lost his shot at the CWA Title. Brock took out his frustrations by destroying Killings to the hospital. Now Brock must step into the ring against one of the toughest wrestlers ever, Masato Tanaka. And if Brock wants a shot at the title, he’ll have to get through Tanaka first.

CWA TAG TOURNAMENT FINAL

Unholy Alliance vs. Technically Gifted

The CWA Tag Team Titles are on the line as Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri take on Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas in what should be an innovative match to say the least. Will Mikey and Tajiri’s unique double teams overcome the technical prowess of Haas and Benjamin? Tune in to find out!

GRUDGE MATCH

Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn

One of the most storied rivalries in ECW history returns on a new stage: The CWA. Who will win what could be the last match between these two? And will these two steal the show like they have on so many different occasions?

BEST OF 7 FINAL FOR CWA TV TITLE

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels

These two men have torn the house down over the last month. This Sunday they meet in the 7th match of their series, to determine the first ever CWA Televison Champion. This should be an innovative and high flying match, and you’re not gonna wanna miss it!

LOSING STREAK VS. TOPLESSNESS

Currency Connection vs. Los Locos Mexicanos

Kid Kash and EZ Money have agreed to put their valet’s top on the line in order to end their losing streak. Gorgeous George protested, but Kash promised her they would win. Will the losing streak come to an end for the Currency Connection? Or will Psicosis and Super Crazy defeat them once again, and cause Gorgeous George’s top to come off?

You’re not gonna wanna miss the first ever CWA PPV, this Sunday, only on PPV!
