Vyce 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 Two things: 1. Amazing Red, little spotmonkey that he is, is SOOOO much more entertaining than the minis. I'd wager large, substantial sums of money that the vast majority of the public would rather see an Amazing Red match than dozens of Mascarita Sagrada matches. 2. If the AAA workers got over with the TNA fans, then wouldn't logic dictate that the CMLL workers, WHO ARE BETTER THAN THE AAA WRESTLERS, would get over as well? There's nothing that Heavy Metal or Abismo Negro can do that the top CMLL workers can't do better.
tekcop 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 The whole Electro Shock / Lady Apache / El Zorro v. Chessman / Tiffany / Charlie Manson feud is much more compelling. Bleh... another one of those fueds you wish would just go away but won't. It has dragged on a bit, but let's be honest - this is as compelling as AAA gets. This is probably the only Sportz Entertainment thing I've seen them do that has succeeded on any level. Okay... good point. I'd like to see Shocker brought in. Negro Casas isn’t the best they have to offer…..I’d rather see Tarzan Boy or even Zumbido. And I’d like to see AMW defend against Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucanero. Casas is awesome, but he's more about the brawling and mat work and couldn't do "X-Style". But, yeah... CMLL>>>>AAA. You might not find it entertaining, but these are the fans that like Amazing Red, and find him amazing. Well, Mascarita Segrada and Mini Abismo Negro are so much more amazing. What is not amazing about so many amazing weird combos, that will be ripped by American crusiers ten years from now. I love you. I'd rather see El Hijo del Santo rather than any of those guys. El Hijo del Santo owns the mat, and is so graceful. One of the best in the world. I would drive the hour and a half to Nashville every week just to see Santo wrestle. Guest Donners Report post Posted June 22, 2004 Is there any reason they're bringing in Miyamoto but not Honma? Seems a bit odd to go with an unestablished team and clash of styles if he was available.
Guest Markingout Report post Posted June 22, 2004 1. Amazing Red, little spotmonkey that he is, is SOOOO much more entertaining than the minis. I'd wager large, substantial sums of money that the vast majority of the public would rather see an Amazing Red match than dozens of Mascarita Sagrada matches. Why is Red entertaining? Because of his moveset, of course. But look at the moves! Mascarita Segrada can hit a satillete headscissors out of any position practically. His moveset is triple of what Red can pull. Plus, most people will look at the mini's as being more entertaining because of there size. People haven't seen mini's on a national level since 1997 when the WWF brought them in, so of course the general public would rather see more Red matches, he is more established. But just watch when Mini Abismo Negro and Mascarita Segrada get in there, they will amaze everyone. 2.If the AAA workers got over with the TNA fans, then wouldn't logic dictate that the CMLL workers, WHO ARE BETTER THAN THE AAA WRESTLERS, would get over as well? There's nothing that Heavy Metal or Abismo Negro can do that the top CMLL workers can't do better. You misinterpeted what I said. I said why bring in the CMLL luchadores because the AAA luchadores are already over. I already know Lucha skill wise the CMLL guys are better. I only watch AAA for the mini's. You think I want to watch fake La Parka? I would drive the hour and a half to Nashville every week just to see Santo wrestle. Word man, I would order just about every PPV to see him on a national level. He rules.
Guest Donners Report post Posted June 22, 2004 For comparison, here is the card from week 1, on June 19, 2002: - The Flying Elvises (Sonny Siaki, Jimmy Yang, & Jorge Estrada) vs. Low Ki, Jerry Lynn, & A.J. Guest sean pyro Report post Posted June 22, 2004 June 22, 2004 (Nashville, TN) – Yesterday, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling X-Division champion “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, issued an open challenge to anyone in the world of professional wrestling for the defense of his championship this Wednesday at the TNA 2 nd Anniversary Show on pay-per-view. Last night, TNA executives were contacted about the open challenge and have accepted a match for the X-Division championship. At this time the only thing known about the challenger is that the person is not on the current TNA talent roster but is a “major player” in professional wrestling. Styles was originally scheduled to defend his title against rival Kid Kash before Kash suffered a broken fibula two weeks ago at the Impact! tapings in Orlando, FL. TNA officials have not medically cleared Kash to compete despite his assurances that he could wrestle this Wednesday. The Notorious KID has been informed he will receive a title shot once medically cleared. The X-Division title match between AJ Styles & this mystery challenger is one of three main events this Wednesday on pay-per-view as TNA celebrates its 2nd anniversary. Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted June 22, 2004 a thought just hit me. TNA has a working relationship with AJPW, right? Well maybe to stress the no limits thing they'd bring in muta/muto.... he's undenyibly a major player....

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted June 23, 2004 You might not find it entertaining, but these are the fans that like Amazing Red, and find him amazing. Well, Mascarita Segrada and Mini Abismo Negro are so much more amazing. What is not amazing about so many amazing weird combos, that will be ripped by American crusiers ten years from now. I've seen Segrada. Seen him a lot. He has never, on his best day, APPROACHED Red's level in terms of entertainment value. He's armdrags, hurricanranas --- and absolutely nothing else. This is not even Mascarita Segrada's most amazing move this year, this is how it went: He jumped up on Mini Abismo Negro's shoulders, then lept down into a wheelbarrow, then from the wheelbarrow, he goes behind MAN, and does a satillate headscissors. Note that whole "headscissors" thing? IT'S ALL HE DOES. Hurricanrana and armdrags. If that is not amazing then how about a move, where Mascarita Segrada, jumps and MAN arm and then goes over and under his arm twice, then goes with a head scissors all in about 4 seconds. The mini's are 2 times more amazing and quick than regular crusierweights because of there size. No, they're REALLY not. I don't care if they are small --- they are still quite horrendous in the ring. Why is Red entertaining? Because of his moveset, of course. But look at the moves! Mascarita Segrada can hit a satillete headscissors out of any position practically. Of course, Red can do things BESIDES hurricanranas and armdrags. Segrada cannot. People haven't seen mini's on a national level since 1997 when the WWF brought them in, so of course the general public would rather see more Red matches, he is more established. But just watch when Mini Abismo Negro and Mascarita Segrada get in there, they will amaze everyone. They were bad in the WWF, too. -=Mike
