Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 This could serve as a discussion thread about it (them), but I just had a question about the Halloween movies. I'm not an avid Horror movie watcher like some but tonight decided to watch Halloween: Resurrection since I still have yet to see it from the beginning. But my question is what exactly is the deal between the guy and his sister? :/ I've only seen like two of the movies..and I can never catch it from the start, so I still don't know why he's always trying to kill her, or vice versa. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted June 20, 2004 After being institutionalized as a child, Michael Myers breaks out and goes on a murderous rampage for no real reason (with his doctor bringing up the rear in the first one). I loved the first, but thought that they deteriorated as they went on. And Halloween H20 gave birth to Josh Hartnett...
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 I've only seen like two of the movies.. Pretend the third, fourth, fifth and sixth ones never happened (H20 was number 7, right?) -- you'll stay saner that way...
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted June 20, 2004 Exslade, if you're planning on becoming a bit of a horror buff, remember: - If you see a great horror film, it having at least 3 shitty sequels is a given.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 You might hear otherwise, but Halloween 3 is good. It has nothing to do with Michael Myers, which I think is part of the sometimes bad reputation it sustains. But yes... good.

Would probably be liked a lot more if it weren't tacked on to the Halloween Series. 4&5 - neither was totally horrible which is all you can ask for (in this case) a 2nd and 3rd sequel. 6 - totally stupid if you see the theatrical version, a bit more comprehensible but still mostly stupid if you see the extended version. But from an H20 standpoint, I think you are supposed to ignore the fact that 4-6 even exist. H20 was the last of the series that I've seen..
Guest Big_Jay101 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 Michael Myers killed his sister Judith when he was 6 years old. Then when he is 21 he breaks out of the institution. Dr.Loomis(Donald Pleasence) his doctor chases after him. Michael makes it back to Haddonfield after killing a few on the way. He targets one young lady named Laurie Strode for no apparent reason. She is later found out to be his sister. He is shot six times and then disappeared. Halloween 2 picks up where the first one left off. It's still Halloween 78'. Michael kills some more mainly in a hospital where Laurie is. Michael and Loomis end up in a room where they both are blown up. Halloween 4 shows that loomis nor Myers is dead. Myers is after his psychic niece Jamie, which laurie had with a guy in pt.2 but it is never shown. Laurie Strode supposedly died in a car crash before the 4th one so you know. He pursues his niece in 4 and 5. Some guy in a coat is helping Michale in 5 from the shadows it is not known who until the 6th one. It is an ancient celtic cult called thorn. This cult wants him to kill all his family. Michael finally catches up to his niece and kills her in 6. But she had a baby that he is after. The boy that Laurie was babysuitting in one takes care of the baby. Loomis is on the case with him. It is said voices made Michael kill all these people. Michael is supposedly dead int his one at the end. Halloween H20 ignores 4-6 and says they don't exist ignoring Laurie's kid she left behind and all the events. Michael finds Laurie at a remote private school where she is principal and she has a kid named John I believe and it is his 17th birthday, the same age she was in pt.1. Lauris still shook from the events of 1 and 2 and sees Michael everywhere when he isn't there. John and his friends are suppose to go on a school trip, but skip, and stay and have a little party in which Michael kills two of his friends. John and his girlfriend go to his house with his mom and her guidance counselor boyfriend and she sees Michael. he chases her kills her boyfriend. Laurie is driving an ambulance and pins Michael against a tree. He reaches out for her , then she decapitates him with an axe. Resurrection starts Laurie is in a mental institution, looking to have gone insane. It turns out Michael switched outfits with an Cop and got away and Laurie actually decapitated the cop. They then put her in the institution. Michael came and eventually killed her, then you know the rest of Resurrection

chaosrage 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 After being institutionalized as a child, Michael Myers breaks out and goes on a murderous rampage for no real reason (with his doctor bringing up the rear in the first one). I loved the first, but thought that they deteriorated as they went on. And Halloween H20 gave birth to Josh Hartnett... He was EVIL! You could see it in his eyes, THE DEVILS EYES! I like Halloweens 1-4. 1 and 2 are pretty much just two halfs of the same movie. I've been over 3 too many times already, it's unbelievably underrated, and people just hate it because it doesn't have Michael in it. H4 would suck but it's saved by the awesome acting of the little girl (she pulls off seeming like she's really scared to death the entire movie better than most adult actors) and the ending, one of the best endings ever. Dr Loomis screaming "no!!!!" over and over and trying to shoot the 9 year old girl 5 was okay but was pretty fucking dumb. Where the hell did Jaime get telepathic powers from? Let's just forget the ones after 5 ever happened.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted June 20, 2004 Dumb sequels never fail in delivering fun, if not credibility. There's the Hitchcock influence: Dr. Sam Loomis.

Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 I haven't seen 8... but Busta Rhymes saying "Tricka treat, muthafucka." from the previews makes it ok with me.
