The Eddie DVD: If Smarks could choose the matches

Recommended Posts

Guest Real F'n Show

I know it's not coming out until September, but I'm already looking forward to this DVD as much as the Benoit one. Anyway, inspired by the Benoit DVD thread, what matches would we see on this if smarks could choose them? My picks:

w/Art Barr vs. Octagon and El Hijo Del Santo- AAA When World's Collide

w/Great Sasuke vs. Wild Pegasus and Shinjiro Otani- 10/16/94 Tag Tourney Finals

vs. Scorpio- ECW Three Way Dance

vs. Dean Malenko- either the Hostile City Showdown or Enter Sandman match

vs. Wild Pegasus- 6/16/96

vs. Jushin Liger- 6/16/96

vs. Rey Mysterio- WCW Halloween Havoc (it's going on the DVD, even if it's already on the Rey one)

vs. The Rock- Raw, not sure of the date

w/Chavo vs. Benoit/Angle- WWE Rebellion 2002

vs. Edge- No DQ, Smackdown

vs. Brock Lesnar- NWO 2004

I'm probably forgetting a bunch.

1 WCW match?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

You can toss that Rock match and that Rebillion match. Add the match where he wins the title and 1 or 2 more WCW matches.

One of his matches against Rob Van Dam in '02, either the one where he wins the Intercontinental title or the ladder match from RAW. It is pretty significant since it was his first feud since returning and he proved that he could still go in the ring.

Replace that with the 10/9 league match, which Eddie wins.

How successful were we on the Benoit dvd?

Not too far off, WWE really went all out for the Benoit DVD and put tons of awesome matches on it. Let's hope they do the same with the Eddie one.

I agree as the benoit dvd doesn't have a single bad match save for the historical significant Sid match and hit pretty much all the important matches.

Good Matches were left off but that had to be expected...The only injustice was the lack of Jericho on the dvd.

Eddy should be good as well...I don't think Eddy's North American Body of work is deep as Benoit's...and I dont know how much Puro/Mexican wwe has...

WWE Matches of his that I'd like to have on DVD. I left some great stuff out because I have it, already.

*** Vs. Bradshaw, Judgment Day '04. I wouldn't order the PPV. I'll never buy the DVD. I do want to see this match, though, because I'm sure it will be the best match of their (what will be a) 4 month+ feud.

*** Vs. Lesnar, No Way Out '04. One of Guerrero's finest performances in his WWE stay, and probably the 2nd best match of the year. Have pretty clear on the computer already, but wouldn't mind it on the DVD.

*** Vs. John Cena, Parking Lot Fight '03 from Smackdown!. An intense brawl that was really, really enjoyable.

*** There was a really great (most were good but one in particular stands out) Tajiri/Eddie Vs. World's Greatest Tag Team match from Smackdown that I'd like to have.

*** Edge Vs. Eddie, No DQ match from Smackdown '02, featuring a ladder.

*** Eddie Vs. Angle Vs. Edge Vs. Benoit. Dec '02 Smackdown! four-corners elimination match for the title shot at Armageddon '02.

*** 10-Man Tag featuring The Radicalz, Triple H & X-Pac Vs. Rock, Foley, 2 Cool and Rikishi from Dallas, TX, Feb' 00 Raw.

Is this on Benoit's DVD? If so, scratch this. But they need to get this out, soon...they're running out of chances. Unless Rikishi or Scotty 2 Hotty are getting DVDs soon...

*** I'd like to see Eddie & Saturn against The New Age Outlaws from the Smackdown! debut of The Radicals, where Eddie messes up his arm and they changed the finish...just because I missed it the first time.

*** Eddie Vs. RVD from Judgment Day '02.

WCW-wise:

*** Eddie/Ohtani at Starrcade 95.

*** Eddie/Syxx from nWo Souled Out's ladder match. I liked the atmosphere of the PPV for some reason and want to see it again.

*** Eddie/Jericho from Fall Brawl 97.

I've got the rest of his WCW stuff.

Though I'd like a montage (even though they never feuded) of Eddie and Benoit's matches against each other.

I'd really only like, say....2 of Guerrero's Japan matches at the most. I'd like this (and personally think it WILL, unlike Benoit's DVD) contain just ECW/WWE/WCW stuff and focus on that stuff.

Forgot the AAA PPV tag match, one of my favorite matches ever, and one of the first "indy/non-WWF/WCW/early ECW" matches that I really appreciated. I've got it on VHS but want a DVD copy, def.

Good lord, NO.

That match was awful and Flair wasn't even trying.

Deon, IMO, Guerrero/Mysterio (WW 3 1997) was not only dissapointing, following the Havoc match, but also very boring for the most part.

And you definately want Eddie/Dean from UNCENSORED...not Starrcade.

Uncensored, once the crowd woke up, was a hot match, fluidly worked, and showed off both men's skills tremendously.

That's already an extra on the Armaggeddon 2002 DVD. Eddie's gone early but a super sweet match.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Shinjiro Ohtani from Starrcade '95 and Dean Malenko vs. Eddie Guerrero from Uncensored '97 should be on it, and one of his matches against Dean Malenko from ECW.

Vs. Test - Wrestlemania XVII

No way. Without the spot where Test gets stuck in the ropes for 2 minutes and Eddie falls on his ass trying to get Test out, this match is worthless... and you know they won't show that. It wasn't terrible, but it shouldn't go on a DVD that's supposed to show Eddie's best work.

Eddie carried Test's useless ass to a *** match. That's an acomplishment.

Then put it on a "Best Carry Jobs Ever" DVD... or a Test DVD (imagine the sales).

 Best of Test

A Sakoda DVD would sell better than that...

what would be on this Best of Carry Jobs dvd?

Test/Eddy-WMX7

Angle/Kane-Smackdown 2002

Bret/Bulldog-Slam 1992

Shawn/Sid-Series 1996

What else?

And the lost footage of Angle vs Test at Australia's Global Warning. The only possible reason this was editted from the DVD HAS to be the spot where Angle went for his "run up the ropes and belly to belly him back down" spot but Test fell to the floor. Other than that, it was easily the best Test match in history. I'm sure everyone that was there would agree with that.
