Triple H Vs Chris Benoit is a money match that deserves a serious push with the sell being Benoit's refusal to let his title slip from his hands and Triple H's passion to be the greatest and to be the top act in the business but he needs that title for the world to know it, that Benoit never pinned Trips but Trips hasn't been able to avoid the Crossface yet.

 

 

Instead we'll get Eugene's "funny" antics and it'll ruin it all.

Shawn is better conditioned now at 38 to take bumps then he was back in 1996 when he bumped so hard and so long that it made Curt Hening go "god damn it kid, stop that".

 

 

Who else would HBK be suited for? Kane is a big name on shawn's level...

 

 

Benjamin? Edge? maybe but shawn has to turn for that and despite all conventional wisdom...they wont do it.

If he turns heel, then maybe he can have a match with Jericho and finally put Jericho over. And he can have matches with Benoit leading up to Summerslam.

 

Or if he doesn't turn, he could always go to smackdown and give Anglesault his dream match, with Angle. Or have a match against RVD. Lots of things he can do.

Sid was great at making it look sick...but i dont recall anyone actually getting hurt.

 

I still believe Sid's Powerbomb is the best ever..because it looked deadly as hell yet was still safe.

 

Nash is the worst...simply because he has actually dropped people on the heads...

 

Mike Awesome should send thank you cards daily to DDP for saving his life on that one Nitro when Nash had Awesome up for a Bomb and had started to bomb him off the stage(10-15 feet) and Awesome's head was like two inches off the ground and nash was struggling but Page caught it and lifted Awesome up so nash could deliver the shitty bomb.

It was a disappointment though BECAUSE it was 10 minutes and because HHH interfered. Not to mention it was shawn's third match back after 4 years, and he was still rusty.

 

I still liked what I saw. shrug. It was just a letdown because it should have been more.

Amazing, this looks like a great card, IMO. I CANNOT wait for HHH vs Benoit, Eddie vs Taker, and even Cena vs Angle. Rest of the card is looking very good as well but these 3 matches I can't wait for.

 

It must be noted, however, that last year we got a card for Summerslam a couple of months ahead of time that looked great but turned out to be totally different and a decent at best PPV.

The 100% serious roles that Edge and Angle have taken on have been MEGA hits. The fans clearly hated goofy Edge. Listen to the amazing response he gets right now! The serious face push hasn't hurt his progress one bit. And humorous Angle....ugh, the fans detested it. Quite frankly, they thought it insulted their intelligence, which is why the guy never got a reaction. Evil General Manager Angle has surely invoked both MORE crowd reactions and HIGHER ratings. I mean, why would Eugene be any different?

 

WWE needs humor once in a while. And it needs characters that could be used for comic relief. There really isn't any point bumping them all off the face of the federation. There are enough serious wrestlers as it is. Dinsmore dropping the Eugene character and becoming just "plain, ol' Nick Dinsmore" would be a disaster at this point and time. Which is why it confuses me that so many people, not just yourself, are requesting it already.

Interesting new match, Shawn wins of course.

OMG, one of them will finally have a singles title again, WOO!

 

Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton vs. Christian -- Intercontinental Title

 

I hate triple threat matches and Shelton should be against Randy in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

 

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle

 

I liked their match from No Mercy, this time Kurt will be putting John over.

 

Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin

 

Shelton should be replaced by Chris Jericho. Edge / Y2J never did happen on an American PPV.

 

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero -- Cruiserweight Title

 

Makes sense although they should just let this match happen at the GAB and then let Mysterio face somebody else at SS.

 

Dudleys vs. Hardyz (assuming Jeff is cleared to return) -- Interpromotional Tag Team Match

 

DUD, sorry I just hated this endless feud back in 2001.

 

Other than Trips/Benoit, that card looks shit.

 

Its already better than last year's.

Either Benoit wins or Eugene costs him the match. The good news is that Benoit is protected either way.

 

Undertaker w/ Paul Heyman vs. Eddie Guerrero -- WWE Title/Casket Match

Undertaker is too much of a part-time player now to be WWE Champion and it would be a mistake putting the title on him. This match could be okay, but only if Eddy pulls it out.

 

Shawn Micheals vs. Kane -- streetfight

Probably the most pointless match on the card. Kane was red-hot this time last year, but now is simply stale. And he's the better off of the two. Shawn's been boring since 1998. It won't be bad, but it will be boring as hell.

 

Rob Van Dam vs. Booker T -- U.S. Title

Assuming Rob is even still with the company by this point.

 

Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton vs. Christian -- Intercontinental Title

Orton is better than RVD, and it won't get as much time, but Christian is not the world's best worker and he will be coming off a back injury if he's even healthy. Jericho/Orton is much more interesting than having Christian in there.

 

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle

Angle's done. I know it, you know it, his doctors know it, but for some reason he can't take the hint. He's still a great wrestler, but his matches just aren't as enjoyable when you are worried that his next big bump could be his last.

 

Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin

Good enough for me. I could even see this being for the IC Title.

 

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero -- Cruiserweight Title

Should be good, but on this card it will be lucky to get more than 5 minutes. Also, the loss of Chavo Classic has put a dent in Chavo's popularity.

He won't be. Lets move on. It is very apparent by now that Edge & Christian were the strong point of the three way feud in 2000 anyways.

I really don't like where this card could lead us for the fall. I might completely stop watching if HHH/Taker take us into September as the Champs.

 

Also I imagine HBK's going to go back into a feud with Triple H once he's done finishing off Kane's credibility and once Triple H gets the belt back from Benoit.

I've got mixed feelings about this. Why wouldn't Shelton be in the IC match? Hasn't Jericho moved forward from the IC division? Why not pair him with heel Edge to help Edge get over as a heel? Orton doesn't need the help anymore, and I think Christian's gotten more than enough help. Quite frankly, I don't want to see Christian and Jericho in the same ring together for a long time. Overkill much?

 

Another thing: Would Christian be even healthy at that point?

 

I'm glad that HHH/Benoit will be blown off at Summerslam. It should be a good match and the champ coming out of the match will have plenty 'o feuds. HHH would have Jericho, Benjamin and Benoit would have Orton, heel Edge.

 

On the Smackdown side, I'm actually glad it'd be Eddie/Undertaker because at least people will care about it.

 

Cena/Angle? So Cena drops the belt to Booker or RVD? Isn't it sort of funny how people though Booker and RVD would be in the main events on Smackdown, but they're fighting for the US belt. On the otherhand though, the US belt is held in higher regard than the IC belt was when those two were fighting for it.

 

I'm begging for another cruiserweight match either than Rey vs. Chavo that doesn't involve any ridiculous opponents. It should be a solid match, but, yet again, feud overkill.

 

See, I don't mind if Jeff Hardy comes back, but do him and Matt really have to team? Can't they just be allies and not a tag team? Please?
