Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 The 94-95 Cobra engine, rated at 240, was supposedly underrated, but that's just SVT owners trying to rationalize being beaten by a 99-04 GT. I've read where an 87-93 5.0 stock made 205-210 at the rear wheels, despite a rating of 225 from 87-92 and a lower rating for the 93s of 215 thanks to a new piston design and trying to make the heavier 94 models look more powerful. Guest 5.0Fanatic Report post Posted June 22, 2004 yeah my spelling sucks but 93's came with a hypereutetic (something like that) pistons instead of good old forged. 205 at the rear wheels? Damn thats the first time I heard of that. I'm trying to get my dad and some of his mustang buddies to get a group dyno going. I want to see what mine dynos at since it's bone stock at the moment, but no one wants to go with me. On a side note his freind's 89 with just bolt ons dynoed 342 at the rear wheels, now if only I could hit that.... Guest 5.0Fanatic Report post Posted June 22, 2004 nope I watched him dyno it. I've been taught that if you dont have to take the motor out, then its a bolt on. Hes got pretty much the usual, exhaust, intake, throttle body, that kinda junk, but he also put on a Kenne Bell twin screw supercharger although theres no intercooler I belive, plus hes got a shot Nitrous bolted on. Guest 5.0Fanatic Report post Posted June 22, 2004 Yeah most too, thats why I gave my definition of bolt ons. Still its pretty damn impressive on a stock block that hasn't been rebuilt or anything. Its got like 80,000 mi on it. Hell its still got the stock 19 lb injectors. Now if that isn't a disaster waiting to happen I don't know what is, but hes an old man, 63, that only drives it to car shows so he doesnt want to take it apart to throw some bigger injectors on...
