Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 We haven't had a Shire Reeve oversee the WWE...
BHK 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 the good: raw overseas should be interesting. More rock=ratings Less McMahon and more wrestlers on my tv the bad: Brand overexcposure with too many PPVs Tough Enough cutting back Wrestling og SD! the Diva search The election concept. We do not need more of that.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 -Linda also commented that the McMahon family won’t be appearing on television as much. This is a method to help strengthen the individual brands. Thank you very much, Linda. -WWE will have continue to only have FOUR mixed brands pay-per-views (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series). However, the brands will have the opportunity to compete with superstars on the other brand at WRESTLEMANIA ONLY. Bah, you'd think they could use the idea for Survivor Series also. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 I always wonder where does Linda do this conferance call to? Who picks it up?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted June 23, 2004 - When asked about talent loss and a lack of substantial star power of SmackDown, Linda says that they will continue to "establish new stars", and that the Eddie/JBL is a "budding feud" that will "continue to grow over the course of the year." Good thing she's been saying the same thing about new stars for almost 4 years now and we could still see HHH and Taker as the brand champs going into the fall. And also who aside from the WWF gives a damn about the Eddie/JBL feud? Seriously they've probably killed themselves in Germany over this feud and it looks like they want to reward Bradshaw for his stupidity. Good to see the WWF totally ignores it's failures. Also these are totally boring without the one caller that always ambushes her with facts and reality and gets hung up on.
res37618 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 I think it's just a call done for stockholders and so forth. Linda probably does it from home in her PJ's or something . . . it sounds like there's probably a group of the WWE executives that handle the call and then take questions from the stockholders. Most of the interesting info comes from answers to the questions from those stockholders. I'm not sure how you go about getting involved, but I would think that anyone who owns WWE stock is eligible to call into the conference call.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 - An upcoming "storyline" may see a "Presidential Election" around the time of the US election that will see a "WWE President" elected by the fans - this President will apparently oversee both Raw and SmackDown. A "Tough Enough" type segment, similar to the RAW Diva Search, may also be in the works. Do they mean they're bringing back Tough Enough or will it just be some Diva Search for men? Unless they're searching for male managers it would be disasterous. I assume it would be for the men because the Diva Search is for the women.
res37618 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Also these are totally boring without the one caller that always ambushes her with facts and reality and gets hung up on. Didn't appear to have one of those callers this time. Everyone pretty much behaved themselves The only truly exciting prospect from the call is the continued effort to release more DVD's and the potential to release more of the classic footage in different formats . . . . Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted June 23, 2004 I'm pretty sure they've banned the guy that was doing that from these meetings. Great to see that they treat their investors like shit if they dare to question them.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 I wonder if there is any Smart Mark stockholders? Maybe someone who asks the eternal questions like if you have Paul London on the payrole why don't you use him to his full potential and not to get some 6'3 250 pounder over like a 7 foot monster?
