Guest TheBASHER Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Jimmy Hart and Hulk Hogan starting new company, wrestling back on TNT Posted by Justin Rowland on 06.23.04 Source: PWInsider.com The past few weeks the wrestling Internet community has been discussing rumours of a new project being worked on by Jimmy Hart and Hulk Hogan, The time for rumours is now over as just an hour ago www.UWW.com was launched with the following statement which is sure to change the current climate of the wrestling world. Hello to all Wrestling fans In my life I have been lucky enough to work in an industry I always dreamt about. I have been lucky enough to live a dream and give something back to the industry that gave me so many joyful moments as I was growing up watching as nothing more then a curious fan. The industry I am talking about is of course Professional Wrestling, Sports Entertainment, as it is now known. As I stated above I have been lucky enough to work in this industry but as a worker one thing never changed and that is the fact I am still a fan. However as both a fan and a worker I have found the past few years lacking a special quality and that quality is a magical one, Professional Wrestling/Sports Entertainment has the magic quality to bring people of all ages, all races, all backgrounds together. Wrestling in my opinion is an amazing entertainment for the Family unit. Sadly though I believe the magic is close to dying due to many Wrestling companies now going for a risqué edge. The Magic is not dead yet though and as a fan of wrestling who has the chance to give something back to the industry, that is exactly what I am going to do. It is time for the magic to be revived; it is time for parents to feel safe letting there children watch a wrestling product again. It is time for UWW…UNITED WORLD WRESTLING. I am pleased to announce that I have been working with my good friend who also just happens to be the biggest name in wrestling history in the attempts to make this project come to life. Of course I am talking about none other then Hulk Hogan. Together our hard work and countless meetings with investors and TV companies have helped make a dream become a reality,. That reality is UWW. The news gets better as well. I am proud to announce that UWW has secured a weekly TV show on a well-known television network. I am not just talking any network either, I am talking about one that has a rich past history in wrestling which it also wants to revive. I am talking about the Ted Turner owned TNT. Our show “Primetime Showdown” will begin in exactly 2 weeks on TNT, Every Monday night. Together Hulk Hogan, TNT, and myself are going to continue to make this venture the most exciting wrestling product for the family unit. Expect a roster of old favourites as well as new faces, which you will also hopefully be entertained by. It is time to enjoy wrestling again, join us in 2 weeks for our revival…. live on TNT Jimmy Hart The site was updated again shortly after this statement went up. The update contained ticket information for the first "Primetime Showdown" show which is going to come live from the Pepsi Arena in Albany,New York. PWInsider.com will post more information when it comes.
Guest TheBASHER Report post Posted June 24, 2004 Superstars announced for first ever UWW "Primetime Showdown" Posted by Tex Miller on 06.24.04 Source:PWInsider.com Today UWW released more information regarding its upcoming debut show on TNT “Primetime Showdown”. Some big names have been announced for the debut edition of the show, which will air weekly every Monday night, the following is taken direct from UWW.com Hello again wrestling fans The reality that the revival of wrestling is drawing near is now sinking in as tickets have gone on sale for our first ever UWW show. In just under two weeks time “Primetime Showdown” will air for the first time ever in what is sure to be a night that will go down in history as opening a new chapter in the long storied book of the wrestling world. I am personally very excited as both a promoter for this venture and also at heart a wrestling fan myself. It is with great pleasure that I can now announce some of the names you will see live at the Pepsi Arena or if you are joining us on TNT. The following will all be apart of the debut of UWW and also the first broadcast of “Primetime Showdown” STING: It is fitting that one of the icons who wrestled the last ever wrestling match on TNT will also be back for a wrestling revival on that very channel. The man they call Sting is without doubt one of the biggest names in the history of our industry as he goes down as one of the true icons when people remember WCW. The man from Venice Beach does not want to go down as a WCW memory however, Sting is eager to write a new chapter in his career and he wants to write this chapter in UWW, starting on the first ever “Primetime Showdown”. All we know is Sting will be in attendance at the Pepsi Arena, but what will he do? As the man himself likes to say, one thing is sure about Sting and that is the fact nothing is for sure. SID: one-word sums up Sid and that is IMPACT, the big man has always been about that word, using his strength and lethal power bomb to finish off opponents. Sid had great success winning major titles in numerous organizations. Things took a turn for the worst in 2001 however when Sid suffered a severe broken leg which has put him on the sidelines until very recently. Sid will make his first big time televised appearance since that fateful night in 2001 on the first “Primetime Showdown” And a man who needs no introduction will also be in attendance, a man who has had a big role in helping get UWW off the ground. The icon returns on “Primetime Showdown”…the one and only HULK HOGAN. Also confirmed: SUPERSTARS such as Road Warrior Animal, Scott Hall, Zach Gowen, Vader, Dustin Rhodes, Terri, Madusa , David Flair, Vampire Warrior, Luna, and Japanese superstar Masahiro Chono These are just a few of the names UWW will present to you on its debut show. Trust me when I tell you to expect plenty of surprises. The wait is almost over Jimmy Hart In other news Diamond Dallas Page has stated on his website ddpbang.com that both himself and his wife Kimberly have been in talks with UWW. PWInsider.com will post more information as it comes to us.

Guest TheBASHER Report post Posted June 25, 2004 UWW “Primetime Showdown” Episode 1 (week 1 of 4 before PPV) From the Pepsi Arena, Albany, New York Commentary provided by Tony Schvione and Scott Hudson Opening Segment: The camera pans the sold out crowd of the Pepsi Arena before focusing on the ring, which has a red apron and a yellow canvas with the UWW logo on the turnbuckle pads. The camera then shows us the stylish silver entrance ramp, which has a giant square video screen above it and two smaller circular video screens connected to its left and right sides. Tony Schvione and Scott Hudson welcome us to the beginning of UWW and a night that they say will go down as one of the most historic in wrestling history. The crowd pop loudly as “American Made” kicks in on the arenas sound system and the already loud response grows even more when Hulk Hogan appears through the entrance curtain and walks to the ring. Hulk Hogan grabs a microphone and has to wait for the crowd response to die down to begin talking, when he begins to speak he tells the crowd how he has had many chances to start his own wrestling company over the years but he never took these chances due to the fact he could never completely trust the parties making the offer to him. Hulk Hogan goes on to explain that this situation is completely different as he it was not just anybody he helped to get this company off the ground, it was a man he considers a brother. Hulk Hogan introduces the brother he speaks of…the mouth of the South Jimmy Hart. The crowd cheer respectfully as Jimmy Hart makes his way down the ramp way as a new theme tune made specially for UWW kicks in on the sound system. Jimmy Hart is not in a colourful outfit wrestling fans may have come to expect from him. Hart is instead dressed in black. Jimmy Hart gets into the ring and shakes hands with Hulk Hogan; the microphone is then handed to Hart from Hogan. Jimmy Hart addresses the fans live in the arena and watching the show live at home on TNT by telling them they are witnessing what will go down as a revival in the world of wrestling. Jimmy Hart promises us that UWW will make wrestling fun again, he then tells us the time for talking is over and it is time to get this show on the road. Jimmy Hart then passes the microphone back to Hulk Hogan who says “What ya gonna DO when UWW runs Wilddddddddd on Youuuuuuuuuu” to a loud pop from the crowd. Tony Schvione and Scott Hudson tell us the first match in UWW history will take place straight after a short break. COMMERCIAL We return to see UWW ring announcer Vito Scarlo standing in the middle of the ring with microphone in hand. Vito introduces the first competitor “Spanky”. The crowd greet Spanky with a fairly good pop, as many know him from his Indy work and WWE run, the crowd are also a little shocked as Spanky was not previously announced as being at this show or even being apart of UWW. Commentators Tony Schvione and Scott Hudson comment on this being one of the suprises Jimmy Hart mentioned on the UWW website. Vito introduces the second competitor “Accompanied by Luna..this is the Vampire Warrior”. Luna and Vampire Warrior get a small pop, most remembering Vampire Warrior from his WWE days as Gangrel. Match 1: SPANKY vs THE VAMPIRE WARRIOR (With Luna) Match description: The match served its purpose of keeping the crowd excited, mostly thanks to Spanky playing to the crowd in the face role and Luna jaw jacking with fans at ringside. For most of the contest Spanky managed to overwhelm the Vampire Warrior with his speed advantage. The contest was basically Spanky overwhelming the Vampire Warrior with some impressive speed and high flying attacks and Vampire Warrior then trying to avoid Spanky by going outside the ring to get himself some time. The crowd where clearly behind Spanky and started to get annoyed with Vampire Warriors attempts to avoid his opponent. The match came to a conclusion with Luna getting on the apron and spitting a red substance from her mouth into the eyes of Spanky. The Vampire Warrior then rolled Spanky up for the cheap victory, to the anger of the fans. WINNER: The Vampire Warrior via Pin fall in 8.27 After the match the Vampire Warrior and Luna leave as referees attend to a blinded Spanky. The fans give Spanky a respectful applause for his efforts as referees help him to the backstage area. Backstage: Vader and Dustin Rhodes are shown talking in a locker room when David Flair walks into the room. David Flair looks around the locker room in disgust and says he deserves better then this and he deserves his own private V.I.P room. David Flair looks around again before leaving the locker room with a look of disgust on his face. Vader and Dustin Rhodes begin to talk about David Flair. “Who does he think he is” says Dustin Rhodes to Vader, Vader says he has no time to be worrying about arrogant kids like David Flair who sponge off of daddies success as he has a match to be getting ready for with Scott Hall. Elsewhere Backstage: We are shown medics attending to Spankys eyes when suddenly the medics are pushed aside and a still blinded Spanky is assaulted with a crutch. The camera pans up to show the face of the attacker and it is none other then Zach Gowen. Security run into the room followed by Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan tells Zach Gowen he thought he knew him and asks him what his problem is as he has never seen him act this way. Zach Gowen remains silent as security remove him from the room. Hulk Hogan watches Zach removed from the room with a confused look on his face. COMMERCIAL We come back to see a replay of the attack on Spanky on Zach Gowen. Tony schvione and Scott Hudson express how confused they are by the event they have just witnessed. We are then shown ring announcer Vito scarlo inside the ring getting ready to introduce the next match. Vito introduces the first competitor “Scott Hall” who gets mainly cheers from the crowd until he arrogantly throws his toothpick at a ringside fan. The cheers then turn to booing. Vito announces the second competitor “Vader” who gets a large pop from the crowd as he heads to the ring. Match 2: SCOTT HALL vs VADER Match Description: The match starts with Scott Hall basically bumping around for a dominant Vader to the delight of the crowd. Scott Hall manages to turn things around with a low blow following by constant jabs to Vaders face, which makes the big man stumble. Scott Hall goes for a clothesline on Vader but it merely staggers him. Vader then grabs Scott Hall by the throat and pushes him into the corner. Vader then backs up and gives Scott Hall a running corner splash. Scott Hall slumps to the floor and quickly gets lifted back up to his feet by Vader. The fans pop loudly as Vader positions Hall for a Vaderbomb but the fans soon groan as Scott Hall manages to hook his legs around the ropes to avoid Vader hitting the move. Vader has no choice but to release Scott Hall and this leaves him open to another low blow from Hall followed by an impressive Vertical suplex. Scott Hall goes for the pin but only gets two. Scott Hall pulls Vader up to his feet and grapples him only for Vader to use his strength to push Hall into the corner. Hall staggers out of the corner straight into Vader who sets him up for a Vaderbomb. This time Vader gets the move and it gets him the 3 count to win the match. WINNER: Vader via Pin fall 12.45 Backstage segment: We are shown Jimmy Hart sitting backstage in his office. Jimmy Hart tells us that next week there will be some huge announcements regarding the UWW titles and also regarding the first ever UWW PPV. Jimmy Hart tells us next week will be exciting but tonight is far from over, Hart then goes on to announce we will see Sting in action tonight, but before Jimmy Hart can tell us who Stings opponent will be he is interrupted by David Flair who barges into his office. David Flair shouts that he is appalled that he has not been given his own V.I.P room and he goes on to tell Jimmy Hart that he should be fair to a Flair. Jimmy Hart says he will be fair to Flair and he has a surprise for him, which is better, then any V.I.P room. Jimmy Hart tells David that is going to give him an opportunity tonight against somebody who is eager for a match. David laughs and says he will wipe the floor with whomever Jimmy Hart has planned for him. Jimmy Hart tells David he better get ready because the match is up next. COMMERCIAL We return to see David Flair inside the ring cutting a promo about how he is a cut above everybody else on the UWW roster. David says as a Flair he can be fair and tonight he is being fair by giving some poor loser a match. David goes on to say Jimmy Hart told him that this guy was eager for a match, David says it is obviously some curtain jerker in the back that nobody has ever heard of but being a nice guy he is willing to give this curtain jerker an opportunity. David Flair tells whoever is due to face him to walk the isle and learn a lesson in respect. Jimmy Hart comes down to ringside to a pop from the crowd with a microphone in hand. Jimmy Hart tells David Flair that he thinks he got the wrong idea in their conversation backstage. Jimmy Hart says that the opponent he has in mind for David is no curtain jerker and the only reason this person did not have a match scheduled is because nobody wanted to face a man so angry and so intense after a long absence. David Flair starts to look worried. Jimmy Hart introduces David Flairs opponent… SID. The crowd greet Sid with a large pop as he makes his way to the ring and a terrified looking David Flair. Sid steps into the ring and Jimmy Hart calls for the referee to ring the bell to get the match underway. Match 3: SID vs DAVID FLAIR Match description: David Flair gets on his knees and starts begging for Sid not to hurt him. Sid gives a maniacal grin and laugh before lifting David to his feet. Sid gives David Flair a Choke slam and hooks his leg over his stomach for the quick pin attempt..1..2..3, a quick victory for Sid and an embarrassing loss for David Flair. WINNER: Sid by Pin fall in 1.07 After the match Sid yells that David Flair knows nothing about respect before spitting on his knocked out body. Sid leaves the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. Backstage Segment: Hulk Hogan is shown sitting down backstage when Jimmy Hart approaches him. Jimmy Hart tells Hogan that something seems to be bothering him. Hulk Hogan says it is Zach Gowen because he has never seen Zach act how he did tonight. Jimmy Hart asks Hogan where Zach is now and Hogan says he had security take him home. Hulk Hogan says he hopes Zach will calm down and his actions tonight where just a one off heat of the moment thing and Spanky was just caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Elsewhere Backstage: Dustin Rhodes is shown getting a drink from a vending machine when we see what looks like a females hand tap him on the back. Dustin Rhodes turns around and we see it is Terri. Dustin asks Terri what she is doing here and she says she has decided to return to the wrestling business after a short break away from it, she says she has a proposition for Dustin and she goes on to explain how despite there personal issues and there marriage breakdown they can still have a professional working relationship as they are both grown adults. Terri tells Dustin that being his manager could be beneficial to both of them, purely business of course. Dustin looks unsure and tells Terri he needs time to think about it. Terri tells him to take all the time he wants and she smiles before walking away, Dustin is left looking puzzled. In Ring segment: Tony Schvione and Scott Hudson explain that up next we will have a ceremony in memory of the late Michael Hegstrand aka Road Warrior Hawk who was one of the true pioneers of tag team wrestling. The crowd pop loudly as a version of “Iron Man” plays on the arenas sound system and Road Warrior Animal makes his way out to ring, Animal gives a moving tribute to his tag team partner followed by a 10 bell salute. Road Warrior Animal then says on the microphone that this is not a goodbye and the legacy of the Road Warriors will continue, as Hawk would have wanted it that way. Animal then quotes Hawk by saying “As Hawk himself would say…Ohhhh what a Rush, because I promise you this is not the end, and there’s going to be some wild times to come” COMMERCIAL Backstage Segment: Sting is shown backstage talking to Jimmy Hart and he asks Jimmy Hart who is opponent will be in tonight’s Main event. Jimmy Hart tells Sting his opponent will be Japanese Star Masahiro Chono. Sting says he knows all about Chonos reputation and he respects Chono for all he has done in NJPW, but he also remembers Chono was apart of the N.W.O in WCW and he remembers the grief that group caused him. Hulk Hogan walks up behind Sting and Jimmy Hart having heard the conversation and Hogan looks Sting straight in the face and tells him those days are history. Sting then steps right into Hogans face and tells him he agrees, but history is never forgotten. Meanwhile back at ringside: Ring announcer Vito Scarlo announces our next contest will be a Woman’s match; Vito introduces the first competitor “Jacqueline” who gets some polite cheers from fans who know her from her many years in the WWE. Vito Scarlo then introduces her opponent “Madusa”. The crowd give Madusa quite a large pop as she makes her entrance in a monster truck that is decked out in red white and blue. Match 4: MADUSA vs JACQUELINE Match Description: Jacqueline starts the match off with a quick pace as she moves around Madusa each time Madusa tries to grapple her. Jacqueline manages to take down Madusa with a back leg sweep and she quickly jumps down and gets Madusa in a headlock. Madusa struggles in the headlock but she manages to get the ropes forcing Jacqueline to break the hold. Both Women get up to their feet and Madusa pulls Jacqueline down with an arm drag. Madusa then waits for Jacqueline to get up and she gives her a crossbody into a 2 count. Madusa shows her frustration at not getting the pinfall by kicking Jacqueline rather hard in the ribs. Madusa then lifts Jacqueline up but Jacqueline elbows Madusa in the face and rolls her up for a near 3. Both women get back up and regain their balance, Jacqueline clotheslines Madusa to the canvas and Madusa hits her head hard. Jacqueline waits for Madusa to get up and proceeds to give her a sunset flip for the 3-count victory. WINNER: Jacqueline via pin fall at 9.28 After the match Jacqueline helps Madusa to her feet and both women shake hands in a show of respect, which gets a good pop from the crowd. Tony Schvione and Scott Hudson tell us we are taking our final commercial break of the show and when we return it is going to be Sting vs Masahiro Chono in the main event. COMMERCIAL As we return a brief video package is aired to show viewers who Masahiro Chono is and what he has accomplished in Japan. We then return to live action and we see Masahiro Chono is already in the ring and is getting a decent response from the crowd. The decent response turns into frantic cheers when the music of “Sting” hits and he makes his way down to the ring as Vito Scarlo announces him. Sting and Masa Chono have a brief staredown before shaking hands, the bell is then rung to get the main event underway. Match 5 (MAIN EVENT): STING vs MASAHIRO CHONO Match description: The match begins with Sting playing to the crowd, as the arena is hotter then it has been all night. Masahiro Chono runs at Sting with a Clothesline but Sting ducks it, Sting then turns Chono around and gives him some chops across his chest. Chono responds with his chops of his own which seem to startle sting. Masa Chono goes behind Sting and puts him in a headlock variation, Sting manages to kick Masa Chono and make him break the hold. The two men exchange wristlocks and arm bars for the next few minutes of the contest until Masa Chona speeds things up by irish whipping Sting into the ropes. Masa Chono goes for his trademark Mafia kick but Sting manages to grab Chonos leg, Chono loses his balance and falls to the floor, Sting then grabs both legs and locks Chono in the Scorpion Death lock. Chono struggles for a while but he has no choice but to tap to the Death lock. WINNER: Sting via Submission at 10.50 After the match Sting celebrates his victory before helping Masa Chono to his feet. Masa Chono responds by waiting for Sting to turn his back and ramming him into the corner. The crowd begin to boo Masa Chono for his actions as he beats on a stunned Sting in the corner. The crowd then pop as HULK HOGAN makes his way down to ringside. Masa Chono greets Hulk Hogan as he steps into the ring by friendly tapping him on the back. Masa Chono then invites Hulk Hogan to join him in beating down Sting in the Corner. Hulk Hogan shakes his head and tells Masa Chono to back off; Hogan can be heard telling Chono that those days are over. Masa Chono seems to do as Hogan requested and leave the ring. Hulk Hogan then bends down to help a wounded Sting. The fans then yell in disgust as Masa Chono gets back into the ring with a Steel Chair and smacks Hulk Hogan across the back with it. The show ends with Masa Chono leaving the ring to a chorus of boos as the camera pans on the fallen bodies of both Sting and Hulk Hogan. Fade to UWW logo, then Fade to Black NOTE: Please leave me your feedback and opinions. I am really interested to know if people enjoyed reading this and what else they would like to see in upcoming shows I write. Thank you for reading

Guest TheBASHER Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Statement by Jimmy Hart (Injuries and backstage turmoil) Posted on 06.26.04 Source: UWW.com Greetings UWW fans I hope you all enjoyed our debut show, the first ever episode of “Primetime Showdown” live from the Pepsi Arena and also airing live on TNT. The night will certainly go down as memorable but sadly not entirely for positive reasons. It saddens me that such cowardly and negative things took place on our debut show. This is a very personal subject to me because Hulk Hogan is a great friend of mine but in the interests of the fans and UWW I am going to try my hardest to remain professional. The fact is due to the cowardly act on “Primetime Showdown” by Masa Chono the Hulkster has suffered bruising and a strain to his back which is going to keep him out for about a month. I have been with Hulk to the hospital, I was with him when he got checked up and despite his current injury status he is very lucky the extent was not more severe considering the force of Masa Chono’s chair shot. The problem with Hulk is that he is so eager for revenge that he wanted to go against doctor’s orders and come back straight away. I have told him to rest up like the doctors also said and I hope he takes my advice. Considering the circumstances Hulkster got away lucky, it saddens me to say that somebody else was not so lucky and that is Sting who was also a victim of a brutal beat down by Chono. Sting has suffered damage to his ribs, this is not the first time Sting has suffered damage to his ribs during his career and that has made this injury of his even more severe. It is important Sting rests up and gets back to full health before even considering a return to UWW. As for how long he is going to be out I would not like to guess at this stage. According to what doctors have said he will be out longer then Hulk Hogan. In some more positive news, Spanky did not suffer permanent damage to his eyesight due to the red substance that was spat into his eyes by Luna. He only suffered mild bruising from the Crutch attack of Zach Gowen as well. This is luckily due to Security and Hulk Hogan getting to Spankys aid before any serious damage could be done. Masa Chono, Luna, and Zach Gowen will all receive punishment for their actions this week on “Primetime Showdown”, I promise. Now for some massive news which I am not very fund of…. but still, it is massive nonetheless. The news concerns my role in UWW as an active matchmaker and law enforcer; my role is going to be put on standstill, for the time being anyway. Confused? Allow me to explain, Despite myself and Hulk Hogan launching and owning this company the fact is TNT also has shares in our company and they believe that there show could be at risk with me in a role of power when close personal friends of mine like Hulk Hogan have been hurt. TNT believes that I may be unfair when my friends are involved in situations and they believe that it could harm the show. Basically TNT have threatened to pull out of airing “Primetime Showdown” unless I decided to become a silent partner, at least for the time being. This is what I have decided to do in the interest of all the viewers out there, and the interest of fairness in UWW. TNT have said that during the upcoming “Primetime Showdown” an active Law enforcer who will judge things fairly and take both sides of things into account will be announced. I have no idea who TNT has in mind but I am sure they will pick somebody good for the job. This weeks Primetime Showdown will come from New York cities “Madison Square Garden”. That’s right baby, we started in Albany and now we are headed to the heart of New York and one of the most famous arenas of all time. This week you will see My last act as an active power, and I promise that last act will make sure Masa Chono, Luna, and Zach Gowen are punished for there recent actions. The new active Law Enforcer will be announced and will be in live attendance. Dustin Rhodes (with Terri) vs. David Flair The Vampire Warrior vs. Vader Scott Hall vs. Spanky And more matches which will no doubt be announced by the new Law Enforcer, the Law Enforcer will also announce things which I was due to announce this coming week, Such as the first ever UWW PPV and an announcement regarding titles. I am going to be working in a backstage role, Offering ideas to our staff and giving support to the roster. Hopefully my years of experience in this business will help somebody out. As for when TNT allow me to enforce my power on the show again, well I don’t know the answer to that question, but one thing I know for sure is that this weeks show is not one to be missed.
