LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 I loved everything building up the War Games match and I marked out for CWM! Everyone involved who had promos tonight did a great job. I'm glad to see that the tag division is thriving right now and hopefully all these new teams can get into the mix soon as well. I'm loving the Chris Bryte/Hand stuff lately. You never know when the Hand is gonna up and kill someone again! The Starmaker stuff was pretty funny. Especially changing hosts in the middle of the segment. Great matches tonight. I'm glad to see that many on a show. I hope my stuff was alright. I'm just worried that with the clues about the mystery opponent that I've given away too much. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Great show, best one in a while I think, really solid all the way through. The continuing story of Rick Edwards is always interesting, I liked the Bryte-Stevens stuff and the main event was a good fun match. Tony's STARMAKER was awesome~! Hoff 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Great show this week, I loved it. Highlight for me was nothing specific, just all the build to this Sunday felt really, really good and really important. - AJ's opening promo would set that tone. It felt deadly earnest and serious, and I was incredibly into it. It also lent some more weight to my hoff promo later on, which was nice. - I liked the Rick/Judas/J. Arthur promo a lot. The interplay with all three men was great. LP has been telling what is, to date, my favorite "story" in the whole OAOAST, and doing it well. - Dan Black vs. Sadist was nicely done. It got over the character pretty well, and it made JINGUS and Sadist more credible for this Sunday. I was shocked when Sadist kicked out of the Blackout. Fun match. - The Bryte/Stevens promo was a joint effort, but most the credit should go to Papa. He did all the Bryte stuff, basically everything from the T'Wolves reference on, and I was dying reading it the whole time. The cap and shades were so over the top. Big ups, snaps, AND props (yeah, even props) to Papa. - CWM's appearance was unexpected, but cool. I don't know if I bought him making THAT much of a difference, but the promo was great and it added some fuel to the fire, so to speak. - It was unexpected but good to see Alix again. Nice little match that served its purpose. Scotty Riggs is funny. - Northstar's promo was INTENSE~ and I loved it to death. It was quirky and fun, but serious too and it provided even more fuel to the above fire. I am so glad Northie came back. - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Rick/Eddy Kalm segments, because they so detail Rick's personal battles within. Great stuff from LP yet again. I have a guess as to who the mystery man is, also, and God I hope I'm right... - I didn't see Bryte/Stevens before hand, but Papa, man, I hope you read this because I fucking loved it. That's exactly how I wanted the match to go, and you played off Stevens' experience and got the character PERFECT. I owe you huge for writing this, and writing it so well. Everyone go read this match, it was all tons of fun and gave me major ping pong ball head (Tom knows what I'm talking about ) - OAOAST STARMAKER! was crazy goofy fun. I laughed my ass off. I love segments like this, and it was really well written. Batman's cowl was a great touch, too. And Ed McMahon. - The segment with KID and the bum was great fun. A good light-hearted laugh before.... - Main event time and it was KILLER. Thrillogy teamwork rules. I loved all the crazy moves, and this was a lot of fun to read. The breakdown at the end was great, and the finality of the finish was tremendous and cast the perfect, ominous tone going into Sunday. I was disappointed to not see anything from NYU this week, or from Dama. I know Dama is pressed for time, I'm sure NY is too, but I was looking forward to all that stuff. Especially (and no slight meant to Dama) something, SOMETHING from Drek, heading into what should be a great No Holds Barred match at GAB. I hope that NYU doesn't fizzle out after starting off SO hot, and I also hope Dama doesn't disappear after just returning. Anyway, FEEDBACKPLZ~! on the Hoff promo. I thought it was pretty good, I hope you all did too. I also hope the tension between Hoff and the BS isn't lost on anyone.... muahahahaha..... But, overall, great show, not the best EVAR~! but a tight little program.
Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Since there's nothing to do until the mall opens, I guess I'll leave feedback. I was surprised to get as many quality matches as I did as I figured most people would be more focused on the PPV and not on this show. Hoff and Papa did a nice job with the Bryte/Stevens promo. The interplay between the ego tripping Bryte and the respectful ex-jobber Chris Stevens was well done and rather funny. Solid promo by AJ. I put it as the opener because I was hoping it would give the show a somewhat intense and serious feel as the final HD~! before the GAB. I think I know who the mystery man is for LP's match. If I'm wrong I'm gonna be pissed, because I hate being wrong! Anyway everything else was good, but Starmaker really stood out as the segment of the night with Zack's promo at the end of the main event a close second. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Hoff is a slut. He's made no mention of me for too long now. I am disappointed in Hoff for he's been a great fan of mine for several months now. Hoff is to be punished by not being allowed to read WarGheyms. Instead you must scroll directly past it and miss out on the fun.
NYU 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 I was disappointed to not see anything from NYU this week, or from Dama. I'm graduating HS this week, so I've had to deal with a lot of that senior stuff lately. Unfortunately, I've been really pressed for time and I just didn't have the chance to write a Drek/Cappa segment for this week. I'm also going to be struggling to find some time to actually write my match. I could have done it beforehand, but....well.....that's not how a procrastinator does things. Now, between Graduation and the following dinner tonight.....and work tomorrow afternoon followed by a family Graduation celebration tomorrow night.....and work again on Sunday afternoon.....it's going to be hard to find a solid amount of time to write up my match. I'm sure it'll get done, but it's definitely going to be a challenge. So, while I didn't really have the time to write anything this week, I should definitely have more time in the upcoming months to focus more on my character. Then again....it's nice to see that someone actually noticed I didn't have a segment this week. Hoff, I thought the promo was great. I continue to enjoy Hoff's continuous descent into becoming a total asshole. The rants on Axel and Gunner were great, and the surprise attack from Gunner was the perfect thing to get Hoff to shut up for the time being. The promo not only did an awesome job of furthering Hoff's character, but it really managed to heat up the War Games match - and the Hoff/Gunner/AJ feud specifically - into a fever pitch for this Sunday. Good job, as always. If I get the chance, I'll try to comment on the rest of this week's card. Either way, very good show all around this week, and I really look forward to the PPV. Tony149 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 I'm pleasantly surprise to see the positive reaction STARMAKER (you gotta scream the name, remember ) has received. When I thought of the concept, it sounded fun. Then I started writing it and began having second thoughts which made sense since I had never seen AI, only bits and pieces. I'm glad you guys are beginning to see the rebirth of the tag division. At first Dan & I were disappointed with the lack of love the tag scene had received, but things really clicked after throwing out some ideas. With more teams coming in, the latter part of the year promises to be awesome. Trust me. This may be our best pre-PPV show in quite sometime.
