Pussy Ass Varitek then hits him in the face (which wasn't even a punch, some girl like shove) which starts up the fight. Bullshit. Varitek is doing what he often does after one of his pitchers hits a batter: starts walking him down to first. A-Rod gave him two extremely audible fuck yous, starts moving towards the mound, then says, quite clearly, "Bring it." V-tek did. Get over it. A-Rod wanted something to get started, and Varitek brought him the fire. If anyone deserves something for instigating the brawl, it's A-Rod. It was funny though, because the announcers were saying today's games (Yankees 10, Red Sox 11) was the "Best Worst game they have ever seen." What a battle, and this is what baseball is about. Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Report post Posted July 25, 2004 Drury, if you were paying attention to the damned game (which evidently you weren't), you would have noticed that Buck and McCarver blamed the incident on the Red Sox, and not shitfuck Gay-Rod. They also kept trying to say that Ortiz actually hit Sturtze, but if you pay attention to the replay, Sox bench coaches held him off, and that it was Kapler and Nixon who beat on him. Oh, and the way that Quantrill threw, Gordon was hit pretty well the evening before, etc. these guys are starting to break down. With the number of quality appearances they have had, not counting the mere 1/3 or 2/3 of an inning that sometimes they get credit for, they have tossed a lot of pitches and are the top three in appearances in the league. Their bullpen will really be hurting later on in the season. Then again, the Sox seem to have caught Alan Embree during his Mr. Hyde year, Scott Williamson found the injury bug again this year, and their closer is fly-ball friendly in one of the best flyball parks in the country. And that's when a Yankees fan shows up to a non-Yankee game @ the ole ball park. I'm sure there were at least a couple good fights out in the bleachers. Speaking of Derek Lowe, anyone care to play the Red Sox Pitchers' Drinking Game tomorrow? Here's how my edition goes: Error=1 Natural Ice Single=1 Guinness Double=Vodka Bull Triple=Chug 20 oz Rum and Coke Homer=Shot of 151 Grand Slam=Everclear Bonus drinks for each time Lowe looks like he's about to shit himself. (edit: you only drink when the Yankees are at-bat. Otherwise you'd really be screwed.) It's guarenteed to be a grand ole time. And from the past couple of days, a sure visit to the hospital.
