Questions about Taker/Kane

That's fine but I mean, Jesus, most people watch wrestling when they're trying NOT to think, as an escape. At least that's why I do. Then again I'm guessing a sizeable portion of the people picking apart the plotholes are around 13 years old so pro wrestling does qualify as intellectually challenging for them.

Bradshaw, is that you? Just because you don't want to 'think', don't shit on people who do.

Now, I've been known to be a real ass nitpicking their minor plotholes, but when they leave gaping wholes in a story that they've created, it's bad.

You wouldn't allow it in a movie, which can also be "an escape" while allow it in wrestling?

Relax, I think it's stupid too... just saying that if you're expecting to see the same sort of attention to detail and plot development in a WWE tv show that you would see in a major motion picture then you're out of your mind. Remember, washout TV sitcom writers are coming up with this stuff, they're not the people who wrote Donnie Darko.

Paul London wakes up in the ring with "28:6:42:12" written on his arm....

Vince and Shane walk over to him

Vince: Hey, it's Jimmy Snukka's kid!

Shane: I think its Paul London

Vince: So what were you doing kid? Sleep Wrestling?

London: I'm sorry Mr McMahon it won't happen again

*London walks off*

Did I detect a hit of sarcasm there?

The scene fades in showing the arena at the start of a smackdown taping

<"Mad World" hits as Sable comes to the ring in a limo and drops off Torrie and Paul.>

Sable: A random limo driver will bring you home after Smackdown.

Torrie Wilson: Bye Sable!

Sable: Paul? …. bye honey …. Paul, good luck.

Dawn Marie: Oh my God! OK, tell me everything.

Torrie Wilson: I’m not allowed to talk about it.

Dawn Marie: Oh, my God.

Torrie Wilson: Hi, Hiroko.

Hiroko: Shut up!

Shannon Moore: London cheats jobbing! Huh? You’re like a celebrity man! I’ve been calling you like a jillion times, where you been.

Paul London. We stayed at a hotel.

Shannon Moore: Shane told me you were asleep in the ring. You sleepwalking again now buddy?

Paul London: I don’t want to talk about it.

RVD: And now that you’re famous you gotta have a smoke.

Paul London: What happens if you tell Sable about this, Torrie?

Torrie Wilson: You’ll put my implants in the garbage disposal.

Paul London: Goddamn right I will.

Dawn Marie: So grotty.

Shannon Moore: Hey Hiroko, you want a cigarette?

Hiroko: Chut up!

Shannon Moore: Chut up!

<JBL appears on the titantron>

JBL: Go back to Japan, bitch!

<JBL disappears again>

Paul London: Just leave her alone.

Shannon Moore: That’s some good shit huh.

Paul London: It’s a fucking cigarette

If you don't like people discussing wrestling from a critical perspective why post here?

I don't think the pointing out of the inconsistencies in the stories of Kane/Taker are nitpicking at all. Can someone please go into detail about both their characters since Kane arrived at Badd Blood in 1997? However I will sign a waiver to not get sued by the brain damage that it may inflict trying to make sense of any of it. I rest assure we will all see how STUPID the writing has been. Vince likes to claim "I make movies", well I don't think this particular topic would ever get him to have hollywood big wigs knocking at his door to produce a movie(isn't there a Kane movie on the way too  ). Vince recently stated in public that NWA wasn't a challenge because they were in the pro wrestling business and he was in the entertainment business. Well, if he wants people to not put wrestling in a box and think outside the circle he better write better plots. Remember Kane being burned in fire last fall? Come on, this stuff is mindnumbingly stupid that you would think it was 12 year olds writing this crap at times. He has a SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT show and not something like ER. He needs to get a clue sometimes.

2) Did the announcers even bother to entertain the possibility of criminal charges? You've got Taker for murder; Heyman for accessory to murder; Heyman for conspiracy to committ murder of some sort (didn't he publicly promise/threaten to kill Bearer a couple weeks ago?); and I'm sure Vince and/or Angle are up for something criminal, since they oficially sanctioned the match.

Y'know, they could have VERY easily said that Heyman had someone holding Bearer in a secure location at gunpoint in case the cops thought of getting involved.

While I agree as to the angle's stupidity, wondering why the police didn't get involved would mean wondering why no-one has gotten arrested for assualt and battery committed during various heel turns the last thirty years or so... Heck, the Four Horsemen not only videotaped their parking lot mugging of Dusty Rhodes, they showed it on national TV, and that was when people were supposed to think it was real!

As for Undertaker murdering (or attempting to murder) Bearer, the whole point was that he discovered that he cared about what happened to Bearer - firing him as a manager wouldn't help at all, since he could still be used as a hostage. If he was dead, however...

I'm not necessarily saying this was a good idea - at least not for a wrestling show (for a movie, book, or comic it might be pretty awesome, though)

Didn't The Dames try to explain the whole Kane/Taker story once in one of his Diatribes?

It's the only thing that could make ANY type of sense out of this storyline.
