King Arthur!

Recommended Posts

I saw this movie earlier tonight and I have to say that I really....really enjoyed it. I read most of the Morte De Arthur(I think that's how it's said) in High School and I just loved all of the various stories of Arthur, The Knights, and Camelot.

This was a very good movie and very well done. It might just be that I'm into the medieval stuff......or it could be that it was good.

Anyone else?

I'm seeing it Friday afternoon. I say Friday because it's currently that nebulous time between Thursday night and Friday morning.

I'm anticipating it greatly. I love the whole Arthur mythos and I'm interested in the "historical" take the film is supposed to be taking.

And Kiera looks especially hot. Just something about warrior women from a matriarchal society.

I saw it today with a friend of mine. I really enjoyed it, but I missed the first 12 minutes cause we showed up a bit late, but from what I saw I was able to pick up really easy. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

I saw the movie the other day, i also missed the opening 10 mins but was able to pick up the story pretty quick. I thought was movie was pretty decent, I really liked some of the war seens with all of the arrows and such. I really wasnt feeling the actors who played arthur or Lancalot but otherwise i felt everyone played there part quite well.

I got into the movie for free and free food so I thought i got my moneys worth but if i had pay I would have skipped it i think. Overall i think its a solid 6.5 out of 10

John Stewart last night ripped the movie during his interview with christina applegate, I think this movie will bomb maybe making 25 million during its 5 day total

So what is the "historical" story based on? Is it like the History Channel described it as Arthur was a Roman knight who decided to stay in England to defend them from an invading army?

Raz - haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

I'll probably see this next week, since I'm a mark for Arthurian stuff, and because I want Keira Knightley to have my demon child.

But I hear ya, bort, about the actors. I just don't feel Clive Owen at all. I'd be mortified if they make him the new Bond, as has been rumored so often.

There are several historical angles. Arthur is one of those legends that probably assimilated other things into itself over time so tracking its origin point is almost impossible.

That sounds pretty close to what this film seems to be about. I've also heard that Arthur was a Roman governor that rebelled against the Empire as it was near its end and crumbling.

Going to see it tonight. Will review when I get back. I've been waiting for this one for a while.

Saw it tonight.

I loved the Historical take on it, and I thought it was extremely well done. I smell some big cuts to make PG-13, though. Hopefully we'll get a Director's Cut on DVD. The theatrical cut, however, shines brightly enough on its own. Highly reccomended.
