Either the voting or the bracketing has something seriously wrong with it.

iggymcfly Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I actually like De Niro, but when you get right down to it; he's just a poor man's Al Pacino. He doesn't have the range or the depth, and ends up just using characteristics that Pacino does. Brando has been overrated for many a year, and just because he died doesn't mean he suddenly became the greatest of all time. I'm not saying that either one's not good; just that they still don't measure up to Hanks. As for Hanks, I went back and saw what happened. He got put against the eventual winner of the tournament (Pacino) in the sweet 16. That should have been the finals matchup, but it looks ilke the seeding went awry, and softball Kevin Spacey got to advance.
spiny norman Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 De Niro is so much better than Pacino it's not funny. Pacino needs a tight director to play his roles correctly. De Niro's run from the 70s through to the early 90s was amazing. I can't stand much of Pacino's 80s work onwards (though he was awesome in Angels In America). I like Pacino, but he is incredibly overrated and nowhere near as good as De Niro, who I think will win this.
