Guest Ray Report post Posted July 20, 2004 Hot damn, Edge vs Orton was great. One of the best WWE TV matches of 2004.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2004 Edge's storyline is that Evolution's been running wild, ruining Raw, and he's got to do anything he can to stop them. To that end, the cheating to get a victory is just his way of evening the odds; it makes perfect sense. However, he's still kind of boring on the promos, and people seem to like Orton a little better, so Edge is still getting booed as often as he gets cheered which leaves a major gap as far as him being THE top face on Raw. Also, does anyone have any idea what the main event could be next week. I mean, if they're leading off Raw with the Iron Man Match, how the hell will they follow that up? Guest 2pacallyps Report post Posted July 20, 2004 The Edge vs Orton main event was a very solid match and probably one of the top ten tv matches this year. Some of the problems with the match was that Orton didn't sell Edge's armwork even short term and the beginning was a little slow for my taste. I don't think Edge needed to work on the arm because after the comercial break in his come back it was about hitting big moves and transitioning with strikes not about picking the bodypart apart because he didn't have sustained control. The Orton rest hold segment didn't drag because he switched it up and even transition from one resthold to another with forearms to the chest. The holds were kept on for a short time and the strike exchange and double crossbodies were a nice way to heatup the crowd. The match was about 15 minutes and they cut ten minutes from the Vengence match which really helped. I'd rate it around **1/2-**3/4.

The announcement of which diva was eliminated... Either that or something dealing with the Edge situation.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted July 20, 2004 Whats the name of the diva wannabe with the loose curls/fro hybrid ? She's too cute to be whored around WWE management.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted July 20, 2004 Man, Raw was bad. Not the good bad either. Can someone actually re-watch the show (assuming someone has it on tape) and actually add up all the time spent on Diva stuff? I mean, damn, we even got replays of the girls whom were eliminated! Sheesh. I would like an actual count of minutes used during Raw to showcase the women. You know, as much as I hate watching all the Diva crap, if anyone other than the Playboy girl (Carmella?) wins, I'll be disappointed. I'm a big fan of "Big Dave" Batista & Randy Orton. There were on again last night. Outside of that, however, the show was abyssmal. The Tajiri/Grenier match was, basically, over after the botched cartwheel BS. That's when I stopped watching the match anyway. Tyson Tomko? Oh my goodness. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for close to a month, but he's not getting any better. I don't even know what the finish to the match was supposed to be! Was Tomko just late? Why was Stacy there? Uhg! At least Rosey "upgraded" but what does it matter now? The main event was decent. More watchable than the rest of the show even. Chris Jericho couldn't even make the diva BS watchable., let alone entertaining. I'm looking forward to the Ironman match next week because I still actually like Triple H & think that he's a good worker. That's more than I can say for people like Tyson Tomko, Sylvan Grenier, etc. Yet, week after week they keep getting time.
Guest Black Lightning Report post Posted July 21, 2004 Well, I just did a tally. Including promos, hype, previews, recaps and the Highlight Reel segment, the grand total was 16:20. I was just amazed at the fact that the Highlight Reel/Office thing was only 11:22, since it felt like at least double that. And, yes, I was VERY bored.
