I really enjoyed the show. I still like Sabu, even if he is old. I found his match to be quite enjoyable, and I enjoy almost any Raven angle.

The cage was simply awesome. If they can get a prime time slot and put shit like that on the ratings will be higher than RVD on April 20th.

I can't believe that nobody went nuts in this thread. This was THE WORST TNA I have ever seen. Nothing in my opinion made it over **1/2 stars and the show just fell totally flat IMO. I have a hard time believing that ANYONE actually liked this show as it was probably the most boring....clusterfuck of a TNA show ever.

My cable service stopped offering the Pay per view, so I don't get to watch it right away anymore. Looks like I'll skip the effort of finding this one now. I thought Impact was at it's weakest last Friday too. Not a good trend.

I dunno, I thought the first hour was pretty brutal. But the second hour was pretty good all around with Sabu-Abyss being ok with Raven's run-in, the tag match w/ Lynn and Co. was alright for sure, the Hardy/Brown/Jarrett angle kind of was "eh" with the typical Jarrett guitar shot, but still a worthy angle - TNA doesnt do enough angles that are memorable and this was an exception.

 

I have to totally take task on calling this a bad show in relation to the main event though. They went 15 minutes and with that (somewhat) limited time, they really delivered strong and turned it into a TNA MOTY candidate for sure. 9 out of 10 times those two teams have solid matches with each other and in this case, they really went balls out on that one to have a really awesome match. I'd have no problem giving it ****, more if they would have just had 5-10 more minutes.

 

Next week sounds interesting with Ultimate X 4 and I'm intriuged in Hardy v. Brown for some odd reason too.

Okay, I still have to watch the Sabu/Abyss match, but aside from that I got most of it taken care of. Pretty average show overall. Top match was the cage, which i gave *** first viewing, i don't htink that will change, but ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN... uh.. .TNA. Yea. Aside from that, pretty underwhelming show.

Honestly, though, there has barely ever been an angle that's been built and executed well on TNA. I remember when the Gathering turned on Raven. I was watching the match, thinking "what the hell?" They try, but they can't truly execute angles well, that's one of their biggest faults. It's partly the writers, partly the wrestlers, and partly the commentary. No single group or person is to blame.

 

As for the fact that the ME only got 15 minutes, that's my other huge problem with TNA. The reason they haven't had many 4*+ matches has a lot to do with the fact that they try to cram a ton of matches onto a card with a ME that is written as a blowoff, or a huge match. Their ME usually gets about 15-25 minutes, and that's not always a good idea. I would prefer them to give them 45 mins, and have a standby match in case it doesn't go the length, just like old school NWA.

Not necessarily, but yes. I'm always impressed by the Naturals. More so than AMW.

 

The point was more of a general ME comment, not necessarily about last night.

I have to totally take task on calling this a bad show in relation to the main event though. They went 15 minutes and with that (somewhat) limited time, they really delivered strong and turned it into a TNA MOTY candidate for sure. 9 out of 10 times those two teams have solid matches with each other and in this case, they really went balls out on that one to have a really awesome match. I'd have no problem giving it ****, more if they would have just had 5-10 more minutes.

****? ****? Jed, are you kidding me here? I WOULD not or COULD not give that match **** if my life depended on it. It was a slow moving, slow building tag match in a six sided cage!!!!! These guys didn't even have be believing that they were bleeding when Tenay first called it. I was like, "They are bleeding! WTF? They haven't done anything to bleed." I really was looking forward to seeing this match and I don't think it would fair to compare it to the AMW/XXX cage match as this one wasn't even half as good as that one. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who thinks many people even overrate the original cage match. I do like the Naturals and AMW is simply "nothing special", but this performance was a poor one on the part of both teams. I found myself thinking after Stevens did the moonsault(or was it Douglas?) off the cage and really noticing how much everyone was bleeding......I kind of felt bad that they were doing highspots and bleeding everywhere...........and the match was still bad.

 

p.s. - Jed, soon as you get that bad boy updated......I'm all for a trade!!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!!!

DK, since we usually have opposing veiwpoints on some of TNA's major thing, what would you say to doing an AIM thing like Laz and I did before he quit? I think that would work..

Ok.......so I just watched it again this afternoon and my **** was a little high (my excuse was that I was rather drunk), but I still think *** 1/4 is a fair assessment IMO. The first 5 minutes were REALLY slow and the crowd was dead - maybe because of the on and off (more off, admittngly) stuff they did this week. However, at some point the match really picked up and delivered to me. Very well done nearfalls too. But to each their own!

 

I'll let ya know when I get it updated......did get some more new ROH in lately though, just as an FYI if you're interested.

Your drunkeness is all good. I would put the match at **1/2 simply because I expected a LOT more out of all four of these guys and I don't mean spots either. The interference was pointless. The match was WAY too over booked.

i'm looking at the ringside photos here... and maybe its this picture i'm looking at, but did Raven look kinda fat? you can't totally see b/c of the shirt, but he almost looks like he did in his 2nd ECW run. let me know if i'm wrong

 

love the Sandman shirt, though. ALWAYS count on Raven to represent.
