Guest CurryMan Report post Posted August 10, 2004 Made some changes for the team, Nemath and Henry made room for Reyes and Beattie upfront.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2004 More changes for me. Out go Stefanovic and Mellberg...in come Cooper and Josemi
Guest frowned Report post Posted August 11, 2004 made a few changes here too: Ashley Cole on for Sol (wanted a fully fit squad) Gareth Southgate for N'Gotty (fancied a boro player in there and thought that the Bolton defence wasn't looking amazing Jensen for Izzett Bentley for Huckerby (reading some friendly reports it seems that he's going to be the one to watch in our squad this season) Kanu for Keane (injury thing again) Beattie for Bent. I'm also considering swapping either Murphy or Holland, I don't like having a position occupied by two people from the same team - it doesn't leave much room for variety. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2004 Bah, with Van N injured and Owen possibly off to Real, I've had to reshuffle twice now. Ended up with: G Taylor D Mellberg D Upson D Riggott D Josemi M McFadden M Clark M Wright-Phillips M Holland F Henry F Forssell G Kiely D Lundevkam M Stone F Bentley I've kinda gone for everything with the strikers, but hopefully the defence will be solid enough and McFadden will get more games for Everton. Guest Montana Report post Posted August 11, 2004 Just signed my team up (this is the second "private league" my team is in). Here is my squad: GK: Shay Given DF: Gary Neville DF: Matthew Upson DF: Lauren DF: Wayne Bridge MF: Jay Jay Okocha MF: Gaizka Mendieta MF: Jermaine Jenas MF: Steven Gerrard FW: James Beattie FW: Alan Shearer © Can't go wrong with that first team, but all my subs are from teams that have just been promoted (Murphy & Sakiri from WBA, and Powell & Freedman from Palace) so if I get an injury halfway through the season then that very well may ruin my chances of winning. Guest ally mccoist Report post Posted August 11, 2004 Right, im signing up for this now. I gotta warn you, I did one of these for The Sun newspaper here in the UK and I finished 20th out of like 5000 or so. Didn't win a fucking penny though. I'll post my team soon, will probably take hours to do. EDIT: Heres my team: Name: Alpha Males GK: Dean Kiely DF: John Terry (captain) DF: Dominic Matteo DF: Kenny Cunningham DF: Gareth Southgate MF: Sylvain Legwinski MF: Edu MF: Philip Mulryne MF: Jermaine Jenas FW: Mateja Kezman FW: Alan Smith Subs: Jaaskelainen (GK), Henchoz (DF), Fletcher (MF), Boa Morte (FW) Cunningham, Boa Morte and Fletcher aren't availible for like the first week or so, but thats all good. Tis a gamble, but if it comes off, you'll be a hero to us all. Well maybe not to us all, but definately yourself.

caboose 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 With Woodgate off to Real Madrid (DAMMIT!), I've had to bring in Spur's Naybet as his replacement in my defence.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Made two transfers: Mellberg in for Woodgate, simply because Delaney is my highest scoring defender so far, so another Villa player can't hurt. Also swapped David Thompson (injured and a touch pricy) for James McFadden
caboose 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 I had 56 points last week, and scored 30 points this week. But a whole slew of transfers has cost me 28 points!
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 Ouch. I was doing Ok until Boro/Arsenal, and now I'm back down to 52nd. Thank god for Captain Stevie Gerrard though...20 points. Now if only Chelsea would actually start with Kezman instead of the incredible waste of money Drogba. I really don't want to transfer Kezman out because when he starts he should score stacks of points, but...for now, he's not. And I know that as soon as I transfer him, he'll start scoring. Anorak 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2004 I've got Kezman as well and was thinking the exact same thing.

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2005 So, season's over. How did everyone do? Somehow, I managed 19th. I have no idea how, except that I had Lampard from day one. But yay me.
Anorak 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2005 82nd out of 86! Anybody do worse than me? I think that's the first time i've had a look since the start of september or something so that's my excuse. I had Kezman and Cisse up front as well. Got my team name about right though.
caboose 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2005 58th out of 86th. Smith and Reyes up front were bad choices after they stopped scoring 6 weeks into the season.
