The "I was forced to kill a newbie" thread

Has this happened to you? Even the most patient of experienced players eventually runs across a newbie who is so stupid or so clueless, you have no choice but to kill them in the mission, before they get you killed.

Myself and two of my friends ran across one the other day. First off, the kid was 7 years old. I was the host, so I asked him if his parents knew he was playing the game. He said yes. I was a little concerned, but, I decided to just let him play, and see how he was. He was a total idiot. He didn't even know the most basic functions of the game, and he was always doing something stupid, which threatened himself, and the rest of us.

After nearly getting myself and the other two players killed multiple times, we finally had no choice. We were on the Island Estate on Elite, and has friendly fire on. We got to the last room, which is the open air courtyard. Without smoke grenades, it's damn near impossible to get all the guys without taking a few hits. At the beginning of the round, I had given authorization to PK him if he did anything stupid, or got anyone else killed.

Well, when it was time to throw the smoke grenades out, he just stood in front of the doorway, in the standing position, and wouldn't move. We tried multiple times to tell him to move so we could deploy the smoke grenades. He just continued to stand there. So, finally, one of the other players in the server wth me pulled out his Desert Eagle, turned to the side, and shot him the side of the head. We then completed the mission.

After having to PK him three more times, I finally kicked him. Some people can learn. Other people can only get in the way and be a pain in the ass.

When he wasn't responding, he probably had a chore to do or a phone call to take. You never know why people get called away from their game. I play SOCOM II a lot, and this seems to happen mid-round.

Anyway, how is RS3?

That's hillarious. I'd rather just have fun with newbies. Maybe you could've had the kid just run out in the open as a distraction while the rest of you did the job. Oh well, can't blame you for TKing there...most people would've been a lot less patient.

I haven't played Rainbow 6 really, or Socom, but have been playing Day of Defeat a lot. Man, that game is addictive. Think I'm gonna go play it now.

Overall, I'd say Rainbow Six 3 is superior to SoCom II in almost every way. If memory serves, RS3 is the current highest selling X-Box game of all time. There's also at least 100,000 people or more playing it on X-Box Live every day. The highest I ever saw was 160,000 or so.

Hey, they gotta learn some way or another. If it takes killing them off to stop them being an idiot, then thats what it takes, they must learn.

I can feel with ya. I was playing Rainbow Six 3, and we had some fourteen year old who tried to act tough. He'd trie to shoot at us and say "just checking my gun out." he instead of throwing smoke gernades at the other people, he kept on shooting. When I told that he was doing it wrong: the freaking bastard shot me. When I came back, I killed him. He would keep on coming back, and would make fun of me. I shoot him again and again with a regular gun. Until he died, and turned it off.
