Guest Agent of Oblivion

How many takes did they need on THAT scene?

Something I think about when watching movies sometimes...

A lot of fantastic scenes just have to have everything just right, and probably take a LOT of tries to get things to click.

The scene that inspired this is the "Biggus Dickus" scene in Life of Brian when all of the centurions are snickering..even in the final product, Palin's turned away from the camera quite a bit, and visibly ready to crack. I can't imagine how many times they lost it before getting it right.

Several episodes of Seinfeld have scenes that were clearly done many times. Usually you'll see Jerry or Elaine trying their hardest not to crack a smile or laugh and usually failing to do the former.

One scene in particular was The Pen, where Jerry and Elaine went to Florida to visit his parents. Elaine took a lot of painkillers and was making all these goofy faces and yelling "Stella!" from A Streetcar Named Desire. Liz Sheridan (Jerry's mom) quite clearly laughs through a great deal of the scene, even though everyone was supposed to be keeping a pretty straight face.

Yea- I've noticed Jerry cracking up a lot on Seinfeld- that's what happens when you've seen every episode million times.

On NewsRadio it always seemed like Dave was about to lose it as well
