EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 WWE RAW Rating And other news from RAW.... RAW did a 3.8 rating this week, up from a 3.6 last week. Management viewed the show as the first real heavy push towards Summerslam and came away extremely happy with how it came off. Everyone is happy right now with how talent is stepping up. Credit: PWTorch.com News Notes: Goldberg, Brock, RAW See some very interesting footage from backstage at RAW.... - Goldberg has posted pictures of him, Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, and Bob Sapp on the set of Adam Sandler's new movie, The Longest Yard. Goldberg and Sapp play football playing inmates in the movie while Austin and Nash play prison guards. Check out the pictures here http://www.billgoldberg.com/new/news_indexpc.htm. - The St. Cloud Times today has an article about Brock Lesnar's first practice with the Vikings and how he struggled. Check it out here http://miva.sctimes.com/miva/cgi-bin/miva?...40803034802+6+7. - WWE.com appears to be trying something new. They have posted four videos of exclusive content from RAW last night. One video is a post-show interview with Evolution about their win, another shows William Regal getting stitches following his brawl with Triple H, another is an interview with Diva hopeful Camille after she was eliminated, and the final is an interview with Rhyno and Tajiri. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2004 You tricky bastard, sneaking in mentions of Brock Lesnar in the WWE folder. He plays football now, and he belongs in the sports folder, god damn it! Anyway, I'm not surprised the Raw rating was up a little bit. The HHH/Regal storyline and the Edge/Jericho storyline were both really interesting, and the main event was solid. I can't help but think that they might be getting into 4.0 territory if they cut back the Diva Search to one segment a night, and just put in a little bit of effort to making the Kane/Lita thing make sense. I mean really, if Lita felt bad that she almost ruined her relationship with Matt by sleeping with Kane, would she just offer to marry him for no reason if Matt loses? At least give a stipulation where Lita and Matt would get some benefit, like if Matt wins, then Kane leaves the WWE forever.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2004 I wish people would realize that ratings have more to do with previous programs rather than the week's show itself.

iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2004 I wish people would realize that ratings have more to do with previous programs rather than the week's show itself. That's true to an extent, and I'm sure the people who stuck around for the Ironman were happy to see Eugene come out, and a lot of them tuned in this week to see what would happen. However, when they build matches throughout the show, it also keep people tuned in. People who tuned in for the opening segment to see what Raw would be like stayed tuned to see the Regal/HHH match. Then, since they managed to build the main event with a hot Highlight Reel segment between Edge and Jericho before the HHH/Regal match started, it kept people tuned to see the main event as well. Now the Diva Search and the Lita/Matt storyline are both insanely idiotic enough that many people would just say "God, this is stupid, why am I watching this," and just turn the show off. While good quality segments will tend to show up more the following week, building matches throughout the show is proven to increase ratings.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2004 Considering that the show is starting to follow a certain pattern I can predict when the crap comes on and not worry about missing anything good. Just watch the begining 30 minutes and the final 30 minutes! Then switch to one of the networks to watch the real reality tv shows like that Vegas one on Fox or Football on ABC. The begining is either a good match or Regal confronting HHH. The main event is either Benoit and friends vs Evolution. That is all that I need to know.
