Guest *KNK* Report post Posted July 4, 2005 I'm a little disapointed that you just went and followed the reality and kept Undertaker winning the title @ 13. It was a chance to change it up, so for you haven't changed ALOT just bits and pieces. You took what happened @ WM13 with Bret and Austin and slapped it onto a IYH. Whereas you could have dramatically altered the story there. To me it seems you're still flirting along the lines of reality a little too closely and not getitng really "out there". good work though
hitman2003 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2005 I know that we haven't changed a lot of things. I'm pretty much only changing things that I didn't like and doing the pay-per-views the way that I would've like to have seen. I decided to have the Bret-Austin match at IYH because I was trying to make them seem more important. As we get closer to the "Attitude Era" things will change a lot more. Guest Sturm316 Report post Posted July 5, 2005 I have to hand it to you guys, you're done a tremendous job so far. So muchso, that you've inspired me to do my own fantasy booking from 1986-1992. It's not as easy as it may appear, especially during some of those timeframes where the roster was limited on main event/mid-card talent (ie Survivor Series 1988, post-Wrestlemania 8). I've also gained a better appreciation for what was actually booked during those year. For instance, following Dynamite Kid's back injury, it was more appropriate for the Bulldogs to be booked in six-man tag matches. I also feel Andre could have been MUCH better used as sort of an outside the ring enforcer for Ted DiBiase during 1988/1989 instead of pushed as a single. Virgil still could have been the bodyguard, but Andre could have added some extra muscle and be used sparingly as a tag team wrestler. Anyway, I'll post my own fantasy booking for those years within the next few days. But you guys are doing a great job, kudos!
hitman2003 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2005 In Your House: Revenge of the ‘Taker Rochester, New York April 20, 1997 - Free-For-All match: Rocky Maivia pinned Leif Cassidy (6:11) after a crossbody block from the top rope. ** - The Road Warriors defeated WWF tag team Champions (8:48) when Animal pinned Owen to win the titles. * ¾ (This is a rematch from the February In Your House PPV. In that match, the Road Warriors were surprise mystery opponents challenging for the WWF tag team titles. That match ended in a disqualification victory for the Warriors. They earned the #1 contender shot by beating The Headbangers, The Godwinns & The New Blackjacks in a 4-way elimination match on Raw is War 2 weeks before this PPV.) - WWF Intercontinental Champion Goldust pinned Marc Mero (7:39) after a bulldog from the top rope. ** ¾ -Bret Hart pinned Psycho Sid (13:28) with a rollup from behind while Sid was distracted by Brian Pillman, Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith. ** ½ After the match, while The Hart Foundation was celebrating in the ring, Steve Austin came through the crowd and attacked them. He delivered stunners to Owen & Smith. However, the Hitman was able to escape before one could be delivered to him. (At WrestleMania XIII, the Hitman defeated Shawn Michaels. However, after the match Bret continued to assault the Heartbreak Kid until he injured his leg. The next night on Raw is War, Bret came out and began ripping on the American wrestling fans and Shawn Michaels. Psycho Sid took exception to this since HBK is a good friend of his. Sid came out to the ring and chased the Hitman away. The next week on Raw, Bret formed the Hart Foundation, along with Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith. That same evening they attacked Sid. It was announced the following weekend that Bret & Sid would square off here.) - The Nation of Domination defeated Ahmed Johnson (15:29) in a “Gauntlet” match. ** In this match, Ahmed pinned Crush. He then went on to pin Savio Vega. But, in the end, Ron Simmons was able to get the victory over Johnson. If Ahmed had been successful in this match, The Nation of Domination would have been disbanded. (The night after WrestleMania, Ahmed got a disqualification victory over Crush when The Nation of Domination attacked him. The following week, Ahmed challenged the entire Nation to a gauntlet match.) - WWF Champion The Undertaker pinned Big Van Vader (18:31) after a “Tombstone” piledriver in a “No-DQ” match. **** (This is a rematch from WrestleMania XIII. At that event, Undertaker won the WWF Champion from the then undefeated Vader. After the rematch was announced, Vader took it upon himself to try to weaken Taker before the match. Two weeks before this match, Vader attacked Undertaker on Raw is War and powerbombed him through a table at ringside.) - After the main event aired, WWF President Gorilla Monsoon was interviewed in the back. He stated that at the next In Your House PPV, The Undertaker would be defending the WWF Championship against Stone Cold Steve Austin.
ryankeast 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2005 Again another good PPV. Shame no Stone Cold on the show :-( as he has got some momentum going. Any plans to book Raw's in the near future????
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2005 I thought your Wrestlemania 13 was the best show so far. A 4 1/2 star Owen-Bulldog match to open...Austin-Pillman one on one (Im surprised this didnt break ***)...another classic with Bret-HBK, and the street fight (the second best match at the real Mania) made for a really stellar undercard. Vader vs Taker was the main event that shouldve been booked at the time, the top rope chokeslam would have been pretty hot, and *** stars is no stretch for those two at the time. You turned a terrible show with one classic and one good street fight into a legit classic. Two ****+ matches and three more around *** with a far better main event. Kudos. Overall, you have created a much more compelling uppercard than what we had for real at this time.

However, one week before In Your House WWF President Gorilla Monsoon announced that the winner of this match would receive a WWF title shot at the King of the Ring.) - Brian Pillman pinned 2 Cold Scorpio (9:37) after a DDT from the middle rope. *** - WWF Champion The Undertaker pinned Steve Austin (17:18) after The Hart Foundation became involved in the match. *** After the match ended, The Undertaker & Steve Austin both fought off member of the Hart Foundation. After taking care of the Foundation, they did a stare down in the middle of the ring. Then, out of nowhere, Austin delivered a “Stone Cold Stunner.” (Leading up to this match, both men had their battles with members of The Hart Foundation. hitman2003 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2005 I was wanting everyones thoughts on the whole ECW stuff from 1997. Should we doing an "ECW invasion" of the WWF or not? Your thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2005 If youre going to keep the ECW angle...you need to make it work alot better. Incorporate the wrestlers into tv and ppv. Make the 'invasion' actually matter. This is also probably a good time to start posting Raw results as you are right into the the Monday Night War era now. The night after the King of the Ring PPV, they challenged The Road Warriors for the tag team championship. In the match, Mankind was pinned. After the match, Vader attacked Mankind for losing the match. The next week on Raw is War, Mankind came out and attacked Vader during a match against Goldust. Later that same evening, Goldust & Sid were announced as the final 2 participants.)
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 No Mankind/HHH feud? Boo. I suggest you at least give them the cage match at Summerslam. Shawn Michaels has been jobbed out on PPV since dropping the title, the poor bugger. He needs a big win soon. Good stuff still. I love this thread.
hitman2003 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Actually, Michaels has had several PPV victories since dropping the title. And we will be having the Mankind-HHH feud.
ryankeast 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Glad Vader got a victory. A HHH and Mankind feud does indeed need to be done - will be a great upper mid feud. Owen Pinning Steve will hopefully lead to their feud. The tag division sure sucked back then - glad your just keeping it on Road Warriors and not hot shotting it around to Godwins and Headbangers - Bring on the Outlaws!!!! :-) Do you still have plans for Rocky to join the Nation?? I would also love for Raw results to be posted. Keep up the stella work.
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Michaels had a number one contender's victory back in November, and a pretty big return victory over Owen and Bulldog, but that's about it. He dropped the WWE title to a guy he was never able to beat, he couldn't beat Steve Austin in their rematch, lost the rematch to Vader, couldn't win a four way dance, tapped out to Bret Hart and had his leg broken. It's not like he's doing that bad, it's just that had he actually been booked in this manner in 1996-1997, he would have had a massive temper tantrum and possibly have quit or murdered Vince McMahon. BTW, I'm willing to assist with or even write the Raw results, if you guys don't have enough time.
ryankeast 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 That would be great CM Funk I think with the RAW results you would get a much better understanding of the feuds and storylines you are currently writing. Also you can get a sense of wrestlers getting pushes and and rising to PPV's and also a feeling of who else was about around this time but who didn't quite make the grade to PPV's. Bring on RAW results. Then this will be the best thread ever.
hitman2003 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 SummerSlam ‘97 East Rutherford, New Jersey August 3, 1997 - Taka Michinoku pinned The Great Sasuke (11:45) after a “Michinoku driver.” *** (This is a rematch from Raw is War. In that match, the Great Sasuke got the victory.) - WWF Television Champion Davey Boy Smith pinned Goldust (7:33) after a running powerslam. ** ½ - Mankind battled Hunter Hearst Helmsley (9:31) to a double disqualification. *** ¼ (The night after the previous In Your House, Mankind battled HHH on Raw is War. Helmsley was able to get the victory with a little assistance from Chyna. The following week Mankind, dressed as a TV camera man, attacked Hunter to set up the rematch here.) - Rob Van Dam defeated Tommy Dreamer (12:10) in a "Flag Match" after interference from Bill Alfonso, Sabu, and Jerry Lawler. *** (Many weeks ago, Jerry Lawler began making negative comments about the Philadelphia based independent promotion "Extreme Championship Wrestling" (ECW). Shortly after, ECW wrestlers began "invading" WWF events--attacking wrestlers, referees, and even announcers. Unfortunately for ECW, Jerry Lawler had recruited his own soldier from ECW, a man he dubbed "Mr. Monday Night"--Rob Van Dam. After seeing Van Dam become a "WWF Sympathizer," ECW's most vocal supporter, Tommy Dreamer, challenged him to a "Flag Match." The flags themselves show the WWF and ECW logos, respectively.) - WWF tag team Champions The Road Warriors defeated The New Blackjacks (8:42) when Animal pinned Bradshaw in a No-DQ match. * ¼ (In the 4-way elimination match at In Your House, the Blackjacks were disqualified for using a steel chair against the Road Warriors. The Warriors wanted a chance at revenge and granted a tag team title match against the Blackjacks under No-DQ rules.) - Ken Shamrock defeated Big Van Vader (10:43) by making Vader tap out to an ankle lock. *** (Ever since entering the WWF earlier in the year, the WWF had been promoting Shamrock as the Worlds Most Dangerous Man. Vader eventually took exception to this. He claimed that he was the most dangerous man in the WWF. A match was later announced between the two men.) - Steve Austin pinned WWF Intercontinental Champion Owen Hart (18:55) after surviving 3 piledrivers and nailing the “Stone Cold Stunner.” ****¼ Late in the match, Brian Pillman came to ringside and distracted Stone Cold long enough for Owen to attacked him from behind and then deliver a piledriver. (This match was set up after Owen pinned Austin in the main event at the last In Your House. Since that time, Austin has attacked Owen at every opportunity. Prior to this match, Austin had stated that if he didn’t win the WWF Intercontinental championship from Owen he would kiss his ass.) - Bret Hart pinned WWF Champion The Undertaker (26:29) when special referee Shawn Michaels “accidentally” hit Undertaker with a chair. **** (The Hitman was named the #1 contender the night after Canadian Stampede. That night he stated that if he didn’t win the WWF title he would never again wrestle in the United States. Two weeks after being named the #1 contender, Bret was informed that there would be a special referee for his match against the Undertaker…Shawn Michaels. The Hitman went nuts, and even assaulted Vince McMahon over this. One week before SummerSlam, the Heartbreak Kid distracted Hart in a match against Psycho Sid and caused he to get pinned.) Guest jm29195 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 Tell me, are Furnas and La Fonn going to be kept around for longer than late 97, I feel they had a ton more to offer than they were allowed to give and it was only because of unfortunate timing, and a car crash that they never achieved more than they did, I remember there was a rumour going around that they were going to be repackaged under Jim Cornette and brought back in ealy 98 to win the Battle Royal at WM 14 and feud with LOD, but this was nixed and that horrible NWA angle took place instead- is anytnig different going to take place here, I'm a big mark for the new (old) can-am connection.....
