What's the deal with these constant departures? It seems like every few weeks WWE is firing somebody. I don't think there has been one single month this year without somebody quitting or being fired. Not only that, they rarely hire any new talent. You would think that they would be hiring people left and right because they need new talent to prepare for the future. Instead, they never hire anybody and they just go around releasing people every week. People always talk about how bad the writers are. I think the talent relations department are just as bad, if not worse.

Why would WWE bother hiring a bunch of wrestlers when they don't even use most of the roster that they already have?

I think because of either of the following...

1. They hadn't developed like they were expected. (See Vince's love for Ultimo and sudden dislike after 1 MATCH!)

2. Have nothing to do because of an over-sized roster. (Velocity regularly has some good matches, and the WORLD CHAMP was on it recently)

3. Got on the bad side of someone

For Sakoda, I'd say it was a mix of both 1 & 2. He was nowhere near as talented as Akio, and their only purpose was being Tajiri's back-up. I'm surprised Akio is still employed.

PWTorch.com is reporting that Ryan Sakoda's recent WWE firing was due to officials souring on his ring-work to the point where they gave up on him. He had been in OVW training, but WWE just decided to part ways with the wrestler. There was also internal feeling that Sakoda would never properly recover from his back injury.

Many wrestlers were upset with this move and came to the released wrestler's defense, since Sakoda had noticeably put a lot of effort into working through his injury.

so here you go, if substance wrestling was a valid reason in the WWE there would be alot of open spots in the WWE for others to slip in.

I find it ironic that Yang and Ultimo Dragon were both not-pushed for the same reason...and both happen to be Japanese, while slugs like Heidenreich who couldn't drag a decent match out of their asses "have fire" and get pushed.

I believe Jimmy Yang is actually Korean.

Yang is American, of Korean descent.

Sakoda's a Asian-American as well. Yang/Akio you can often hear calling his spots in a southern accent.

WWE just loves to hire random Asian wrestlers.

"Come on ref!"...I really hope Akio gets to stay around a bit.

Best Sakoda moment? The Heat before No Way Out, had a cute finish. Otherwise ....meh.

Not to sound racist or anything but that's gotta be the most fucked up thing.  Seeing and hearing an asian guy talking in a southern drawl.

I used to know this Cantonese dude from Ireland. It was surreal..

PS: Does anyone know if this story is even true? I mean, normally, WWE announces on their site when they've let someone go, and then they remove the person from the roster page. It happened with Sable. Immediately. But there's no mention of Sakoda being fired on the site, and he's still on the Smackdown roster page.
