Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2004 Damn me for not sending all the promos I had in. Any how, this was meant to happen before the Landon/Johnny deal. ------------------------------------------ Somewhere within the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, Alex Zenon has found himself a room that was easily transformed into a makeshift office. He sits comfortably in his chair, for now at least, going over some quick details. As Commissioner he’s learned to take whatever chance he has to take care of the ever growing stack of paperwork, even if there is a show in progress. Usually, he’s disturbed by a knock at the door or someone barging in. KNOCK KNOCK!! Of course, tonight is no different. Alex looks up from his work and sighs as the door swings open and in steps the Barracuda, Johnny Dangerous… for the second time this evening. “Commissioner,” greets Johnny, with a nod. He strolls in and stops directly in front of Zenon’s desk. Alex stares at Johnny wearily, not sure what he’s here for. “Not another request,” he mutters. “Don’t worry, I’m not here to plead for a title shot so you can leave your guard down,” says Johnny, taking a seat in one of the plush chairs in front of Zenon’s desk. “However, I am here to try and figure out what exactly is going on in this federation. More or less, this is a polite investigation into recent happenings.” “A polite investigation?” ask Alex. He raises his brow in half amusement. He’s had many people come through his door requesting title shots, contenderships, and blood. But an investigation, now this is something new. Alex leans forward over his desk with one elbow resting on the corner. “Why are you on an investigation to begin with?” “Because it’s my duty to this company and its fans,” Johnny responds. “I’m a secret agent, Commissioner, and though I now work for the SWF, it is a part of me that will always be there.” “Why don’t you just get to the point already? Be a little more precise, Johnny, you can see I’m a busy man with a busy schedule to keep on top of. I am well aware of your history prior to working for the SWF, so stick with what I don’t know.” “Well, I’d like to know exactly what you are doing… to be more precise,” says Johnny. “This place, this federation, has become a lonesome place for people like me who fight for the good of the fans and this company. Those that come here to serve their own selfish destiny while destroying everything in the process have grown by leaps and bounds. It’s a dark place, Mr. Zenon, and something has to be done.” “You think it’s my fault that people act the way they do?” “No… but the growth of such factions as Revolution Zero, and particularly Toxxic, has been met with surprising approval from your department. They’ve become a threat in a short manner of time, and if you ignore it much longer it’s going to be totally out of control! It happened once already with Janus, and you couldn’t put a stop to it. Instead you threw Tom Flesher and Toxxic at him, and while yes, it worked, Janus has left the SWF, you still empowered others in the process.” “So you’re saying you want some kind of shot against Toxxic,” Alex interjects. “I should have guessed!” “Well you guess wrong, Commissioner,” replies Johnny. “You’re not listening to me, and If you’ll allow me to continue there are others as well.” “Look, I know all too well about Revolution Zero! I know all there is to know about Toxxic. Same deal as Tom Flesher, as I’m sure it would have been only a manner of time before you decided to tell me all about him… as if I didn’t know.” “Good, then we are on the same page here.” “Not exactly, I still don’t know what your purpose with them is.” “My purpose is not only with them, but with every man who stands against what’s right; Landon Maddix, Austin Sly, Max King…you.” “Me? What reasoning is there for me to be under your little investigation?” Alex asks, punctuating every syllable of investigation. The amusement was waning thin, as irritation started creeping in. “Well, Mr. Zenon, you did bring in the root of all evil to this federation--The Suicide King.” Shocking silence sets in. Alex stares coldly at the Barracuda as if he stepped over the line, which he surprisingly did. “Not only did you bring King back into the Federation,” continues Johnny, “but you used him to secure your own job, and put Mark Stevens at risk in the process.” “Alright,” growls Zenon, his nostrils flaring. “I’ve heard about all I need to hear. You can go on all day spouting what you will about Flesher, Maddix, and whoever else, but I’ll be damned if you stick your nose in my business! What goes on between Mark Stevens, King, and me, is of no concern to you!” “Maybe so, but it all ties together,” replies Johnny, remaining perfectly cool, “and the fans certainly care. If they care then so do I. This whole situation isn’t going to make you many friends.” “I’m not here to make friends!” snaps Zenon, angrily pounding his fist into the desk. “But you’ve made plenty of enemies,” replies Johnny coolly. “I’m offering you the chance to try and set some right to this place by granting authorization to my mission.” “Authorization!? Mission!? What the hell!? I’ll have no part of this charade, because in case you haven’t noticed I don’t take sides! I don’t interfere with the people you mentioned, so don’t expect me to back your purpose!” “Then I’ll do it without your approval!” snaps Johnny. He finally stands from his seat knowing good and well that he has worn out his welcome… that is if he was even welcome to begin with. “You can sit here all day and wash your hands clean of everything that goes on here, but unlike you I have to take action. I can’t watch idly as these people run around injuring people and destroying everything in their wake. I can fight, so I will, and that’s exactly what I plan on doing! In case you haven’t figured it out by now, Mr. Zenon, the Secret Agent is back!” “You don’t know how deep of a mess you’re getting yourself into, Dangerous!” Zenon shouts at the parting Barracuda. “Don’t come crawling back to me when they injure you for life!” “…And don’t run when I call on you,” says Johnny, speaking over his shoulder before heading out of the Commissioners office. “A threat? Don’t think I can’t fire your ass, or that I won’t!” However, the Commissioner’s words fall on deaf ears, as the Barracuda is long gone. He plops back down into his seat, angrily staring out the open door. “Stupid son of a bitch,” he mutters, “he’s going to get himself killed.” He takes a stack of papers and shuffles them… As we: FADE OUT.
