RAW House Show 8/7 REPORT

Recommended Posts

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen

I went to the RAW House Show in Trenton NJ two days ago.

This is my story.

We got there at about 6:30, I resisted the temptation to spend 235 on a replica belt and instead just picked up the HHH shirt, because I could wear it under my shirt at work (which I couldn't do with Cena's shirt).

I got down to my seats which were ringside in Section 5, and got to see Eugene riding his bike back and forth behind the entranceway. I yelled and waved at him, and he waved back and the curtain was promptly shut. Also, seating behind was an extremely pretty girl my age (She looked about 16 so she was about a year younger than I am, because my birthday is coming up) with a Randy Orton shirt on. We talked for a bit before the event, and to my delight, I found she was a bona fide heel fan. She rooted for all the bad guys that night.

Arn Anderson and Dean Malenko took notes on all the matches by the way.

The first match was Val Venis vs. Rodney Mack (w/. Jazz) and it was solid, if unspectacular. Venis rules on Heat each and every week, and Mack was pretty solid too. It probobly would have come off as boring on TV but the crowd was REALLY into Val and we clapped along to get him out of those damn chokeholds Mack kept pulling on him. Val won with the money shot, and we were thrilled.

Coach came out next and told us the card for the rest of the evening, and introduced us to a wrestler making his debut SIMON D. He's working the BodyDonna's gimmick with touches of Kurt Angle thrown in (in the match, he had no idea the fans were booing and would repeatedly give thumbs up to the crowd and ask for our support). He lost a match to Stevie Richards, in which the highlight was Simon stopping the match to get a drink of water form his gym bag.

The third contest of the evening saw Victoria go over Molly with the help of the guy in drag. WMOTN easy. Victoria's ass was mesmerizing live though.

Fourth contest had a TON of heat, it was Rhyno/Tajiri vs. La Resistance. Resistance won on a fluke pin, but we were solidly behind the faces and the USA chants never stopped.

Fifth match was a practice for SS with Edge defending against Jericho and Batista. Edge got a big pop, Y2J got a bigger one, and Batista got a true mixed reaction as there were A LOT of cheers mixed in with boos. He stopped and told the girl behind me she was hot, so she kept bragging about that. Match was really good with a ton of near falls near the end. Scary moment at one point when it looked like Batista had badly injured his knee. It was either a fluke or some REALLY good selling because I was worried.

Intermission. I went to the concession stand and got into conversation with a pair of men in wheelchairs. We talked about how excited we were to see Ric Flair LIVE, he even had a Four Horsemen tatoo. If you're reading this, I hope you enjoyed the event as much as I did.

The next match was like a religous experience for me. Ric Flair went up against Eugene, and my brother and I never sat down. We WHOO'd for EVERYTHING, every chop, every strut, every WHOO, every over-sold backdrop, every Flair Flop. Ric Flair lost, but who gives a damn?

Kane and Lita had their spiel. She's turning heel. Kane got a massive pop, by the way.

Randy Orton and Benoit fought in the ME, and this match is going to be tremendous. Before he got in the ring Orton stopped and let the girl behind me hug him, which made her hyperventilate like a 12 year old at an N*Sync concert. No chinlock shit in this one, as Orton busted out a LOT of arm submissions, and Benoit was using his HCTP moveset (complete with that kick ass shoulder stretch his does in his Submission grapple). Orton tapped to the crossface at the end, and I'm definitly buying SummerSlam.

Seems like Orton is using STRATEGY. Work the arms so the crossface isn't as dangerous.

Sounds like a good show, and I'm still loving the crowd shitting all over Lita.

WMOTN? Does that mean Women's Match of the Night?

Ah, gotcha.

Well, the card sounds like fun. Glad you had a good time.

Pix of your gurl plz.

Batista is amazing live, believe it or not, those who haven't seen him at a House Show or something. Absolutely HUGE and he interacts with the crowd amazingly.

That Simon D guy didn't look like Nova, did he? It's just that the gimmick sounds vaguely similar to the one he was rumoured as getting.

He did, in fact I even commented to my brother that it could be Nova, but I wasn't sure because he had geri-curl hair.

He gave me a dirty look on his way down, because our group was rooting for him, and HE'S A HEEL DAMN IT!

I don't know what is about Val. Stuck behind the doomed porn gimmick, but goes out there, gives 110%, and makes the match worthwhile almost exciting even no matter who he is against. Him and Chuck had an enjoyable bout almost two weeks ago at my show.

Fourth contest had a TON of heat, it was Rhyno/Tajiri vs. La Resistance. Resistance won on a fluke pin, but we were solidly behind the faces and the USA chants never stopped.

I'm always a mark for All Americans Vs. The Foreign Fanatics matches. :headbang:

How did Edge get the win? The only things I vivly remember at my show was Jericho had Edge in the Walls then Batista came in to break it up, Batista somehow went flying over the top rope and Edge got the win.

Interesting, looks like HHH took turns with Flair on switching nights off apparantly. Flair was a no show at mine, yeah I'm jealous.

Kane and Lita had their spiel. She's turning heel. Kane got a massive pop, by the way.

I'm surprised Kane didn't have a match, at least squash Hurricane or somebody.

I'm glad to know you got your sneak preview. :D

I think the question in everybody's mind is:

Did you/Will you hook up with the girl??

The very least you could do is ask for her phone number.

Guys, your normal guy really don't look like shit next to Randy Orton in a Speedo. She wanted to go to Applebee's because I let her know that's where all the wrestlers hang out
