Guest JMA Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 Urban Legends Reference Pages This is a really good site that exposes some well-known "facts" as nothing but urban legends. The categories are very extensive and I recommend everyone take a look at the page. Some common myths: The Coriolis effect causes toilets to flush clockwise in the northern hemisphere and counterclockwise in the southern. We only use ten percent of our brains. Hair and fingernails continue to grow after death. The Great Wall of China is the only man-made object visible from the moon. A Julius Caesar quote which warns people to beware leaders who "bang the drums of war." Albert Einstein embarasses an atheist professor. You must sign a petition to stop Jesus from being portrayed as a homosexual in an upcoming film.
