Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 I never saw Lou wrestle, but I've heard so much, he must have been good. It's always a pity when any of these legends die, although I will admit Gorilla Monsoon dying upset me more than this for obvious reasons. Our local wrestling newspaper columnist (Mike Mooneyham, Charleston Post and Courier) has been running a tribute to Wahoo McDaniel the last two weeks. Anyways, I'm optimistic about tonight, even with the Jazz/Hardcore title business. I have no idea why they're doing that, but I know it'll be short. As stated before, the whole Big Show absence really hits me as a handicap for the show and the nWo as a whole. I mean, imagine Hogan not appearing on Nitro the night after he joined the nWo the first time. Hardly as earthshaking an event in the case of Big Show, but you get the idea. I say Flair will declare the nWo barred from the building, or, as 1wrestling suggested, a pre-taped segment. RVD/Booker and Jeff/Eddy show promise in my mind though, so I look forward to another entertaining Raw. I look forward to it now more than I have in a while, and think they have yet to put out a bad show since the split. Just so long as Trips doesn't show up again to trivialize the idea of a split, I'm cool.
Guest The Voices In Your Head Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Hogan vs. Regal? That's an ODD choice. I'll tune in just to see how the match turns out. I never thought I'd see those two in a match with each other.
Guest Caliban Report post Posted April 29, 2002 It looks to be an interesting night, for sure. Hopefully Booker T and RVD can put on a good match.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Hogan versus Regal might blow because the crowd tends to be apathetic towards Regal matches. Hogan's matches are only entertaining if the crowd is hot. I don't know if they are going to pop for Hogan for much longer, since they rushed his entire turn/title run. Actually he didn't even chase the title, he just woke up one day and he had it. I haven't seen the new Stasiak yet, and I'm wondering what kind of match him and Lesnar will have. Right about now, I'm wishing they would give Lesnar Goldberg's music just to be assholes. D'Lo Brown was completely misused against Guerrero on Heat last night. They hyped the fuck out of the match, and he only got in two moves (one was a spinning, sit-out Rock Bottom kind of move) in his dramatic return. They could have at least given him a squash match before letting him get sqaushed against Eddie Guerrero. Unless they are trying to put Eddie over as an unstoppable IC champ, they fucked up D'Lo's return just like they fucked up Mr. Perfect's return. Big Show not being on RAW is going to look very stupid if they can't find a brilliant way to write around it. It was clever to make Austin mistrust Flair even more, but to have the Big Show be absent after his heel turn is a bone head move. what new move will Regal reveal tonight? Abdomial Stretch into pin Camel Clutch into pin Heart Punch Airplane Spin Powerbomb That's pretty damn funny!
Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Goodear's reactions... cause you really don't care. Tonight on Raw, according to WWF.com: - WWF Undisputed World Champion Hulk Hogan vs. William Regal. Yuck. Hogan's at his best when he has to rally from convincing offence. Regal does his best work when he is able to tie his opponent up for extended periods of time. Neither guy does anything else well on a daily basis. Look for lots of European uppercuts and southpaw lefts. Can Hogan withstand the power of the punch? Goodear says yes. - Intercontinental Champion Eddie Guerrero vs. Jeff Hardy. Should be an entertaining 4-8 minutes of Eddy reigning in Jeff's wacky aerial tactics and having a nice match in the process. Froggy splash should seal the deal, unless they go for dueling screwjobs with Eddy and RVD. - European Champion Spike Dudley vs. Goldust. This will suck. Spike can't bump like a madman unless there is some suitable offense for him to bump from... Goldust doesn't have that kind of offense. - Hardcore Champion Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Jazz. Woman + Bubba + Hardcore Match = Table Time... how many title switches happen before then is beyond my ability to calculate. - Rob Van Dam vs. Booker T. Yeah Doggie! The two guys I miss the most since I don't have cable. Should be rocking good time for about 7 minutes. I would put RVD over, but I'm not the WWF so congratulations Booker! - Brock Lesnar vs. Shawn Stasiak Shawn's dead ... its just a matter of how fast he dies. I say two minutes tops. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Hogan vs Regal? This will be worse than Hogan/HHH and could be worse than Hogan vs Taker.(which by the way, on observer live they said is the planned match for now unlike the 4-way with HHH and Jericho which would have at least made the match passable) Eddy and Jeff Hardy COULD BE GOOD. Just because they are smark darlings doesnt' mean they won't blow spots and blow chunks during their match. Booker and RVD should rock, but I can't help but think this shouldn't be done right now because these 2 could have a program in the near future sometime after KOTR. Perhaps over the IC belt. Maybe throw Eddy in the mix and you have awesome 3-way pairings for a belt that needs star power.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Raw's on the air. That's horrible no announcement about Lou Thesz.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Stasiak/Lesnar gets two minutes? You're out of your mind! Planet Stasiak runs right into the spinning-neckbreaker-thingy for the 1-2-3. I'll give it 15 seconds tops. Lesnar's gotta nosell a few punches before he kills him.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 29, 2002 what is that green stuff that Jeff Hardy has all over his arm and shirt? Maybe he should just stick to spitting water like the big boys.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Regal vs. Hulk Hogan. ??? What's the point of that match? How does beating Shawn Stasiak mean you are suddenly worthy of getting a title shot?
Guest Vyce Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Has Hardy's hair begun to melt? What's that green shit all over his chest?
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted April 29, 2002 It looks like Jeff vomited all over himself.
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 It's getting harder and harder for me to like Jeff Hardy when he continues to make himself look uglier and uglier. His ring attire used to be cool, and his "street clothes" awful. Now both are awful.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted April 29, 2002 I'm craziak for Planet Stasiak! Besides me, who here is praying for a Lesnar run-in during the Hogan match?
Guest Risk Report post Posted April 29, 2002 They do own Greenberg's theme. Didn't like Berg but I did like his theme.

Just because, I always marked out for his entrance.... Why did fag go for a swanton while guerrero was walking? its not a move to be used on someone standing jeff hardy looks like a starbucks down the street from a suburan high school's clientel blew up with green hair dye
Guest Risk Report post Posted April 29, 2002 I hate cheating in matches. It's TOO overdone.
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Good opener, but am I the only one that noticed how horribly blown up Jeff was around the five minute mark?
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Spiffy match from what I saw. Eddy's missed whatever-he-was-doing turning into him tumbling across the ring was pretty neat.
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 "Is that no good, sorry, lying sonofabitch here yet?" "No, Mr. Austin, Mr. McMahon isn't here tonight." Ooh, good one. Did we really need the video recap after they already told us what happened beforehand? They usually say something like "HERE is what happened!" and then show it, but this time it was like a video essay, with a thesis stated by JR and evidence from the video guys. Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 29, 2002 bad ref bump, Charles Robinson pulled Eddie down before Jeff hit them. The belt shot for the win was not necessary, it did nothing for Jericho and shall do nothing for Guerrero. If Jeff bladed would he spew green fluids?
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Not a bad opening match. Even though, I was distracted by what appeared to be a really screwed dye job on Jeff's part. And woohoo! 20 minutes pointless interview time!
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 can someone give me the link or url to the smarks chat room?
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted April 29, 2002 BORING. Please, get Austin wrestling instead of on the mic.
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 I thought it was Jericho vs. Hogan tonight... Interesting
Guest Report post Posted April 29, 2002 Austin just needs to get hammered and start singing Buffett songs again. Wait! A story! THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES JOKE RETURNS!!! I'd still rather hear him sing. Ever wonder how much a lack of "what"s would shorten his interview segments?
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted April 29, 2002 I dig Big Show/Austin tonight for some reason. Don't ask me why...
