Magus 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 the card looks stacked, but watch TNA fuck it up. just watch...
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Not worth $10. The only think that really interests me is AMW/xXx and MAYBE Raven/Sabu. I really don't like Petey Williams, Monte Brown sucks, and BG James/Konnan representing 3LK is 100% suck. Also Jeff/Jeff feud is pathetic for the World Title. Maybe if La Parka shows up I'll be interested
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 I predict Kash/Styles and AMW/XXX being the only good matches...again.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Sabin and Petey work well together, so that should be good. Not Five star good, but still better than anything we'd get with Shane or Kazarian in the match.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted August 17, 2004 I predict Truth and Monty will be highly entertaining. I think Truth has the athleticism it takes to make Monty look good. I'm sure Monty will go over, which I don't think is good right now. By the way, the pic they have for Monty there is great. The only throw away matches on the card are Hangman's horror, and the tag-title match. I think I'll get this.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Sabin and Petey work well together, so that should be good. Not Five star good, but still better than anything we'd get with Shane or Kazarian in the match. Michael Shane >>> Petey Williams. Shane actually grew into an acceptable worker once he was taken out of the X-Division. Williams is still bland, and has the most over-exposing finish I've ever seen. Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 17, 2004 I don't agree. About the Shane thing. WIlliams finish is uber exposing. But I still think he's better than shane.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 At least Shane doesn't botch half of what he tries. You have to give him that.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 17, 2004 That's because it's nearly impossible to botch a chin lock.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Chinlocks, armbars, punches, and bodyslams done well are better than hurricanrana's, flying headscissors', tornado DDT's, and tilt-a-whirl Russian Legsweeps done poorly.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 17, 2004 True, too bad they drag the opponent down more than those poorly executed moves, becasue with those you can just move on, with a chinlock, you sit there.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted August 18, 2004 True, too bad they drag the opponent down more than those poorly executed moves, becasue with those you can just move on, with a chinlock, you sit there. The problem is --- you start throwing out those moves early on (a problem a lot of X Division guys have), you have a hard time keeping the crowd in it. You start off throwing out cool spots and it ends up not being memorable. One thing Corny said is true: A well-sold punch is far more effective to get the fans involved than the prettiest moonsault. -=Mike
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 18, 2004 I get what you're saying, and I agree. I think my original point was that I just dont' like Shane in the X Division... I think... I'll go back and look wehn I'm totally awake.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted August 18, 2004 LFV should be in the olympics. Backstroke. And, I like Shane. I've said it before, but I just don't see what is horrid about him.

Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted August 18, 2004 Shane is uber boring, and rarely puts on anything above ***. Boring is subjective I suppose, but *** is darn good for modern North American wrestling.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted August 18, 2004 By the way, what do you guys think of Shane's performance in the first 2 UltimateX matches. (Edited versions, I know the technical difficulties killed them live) Personally I thought he made the first one, and he hung in there quite well with some of the best in the world in the second. He didn't do bad.....he didn't do good. Shane was just there for the others, and I personally thought the first one was terrible.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 18, 2004 The backstroke joke went right over my head. Shane was okay in the first, and just there in the second, like DK said.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted August 18, 2004 OK, Shane will never get over with you guys then. Just Curious.

Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted August 18, 2004 Nah, your minds are closed to him. It's OK though. I'l never see anyhting good in Jeff Hardy. We all have someone like that.

Trust me WMD, my mind is NEVER closed as far as guys go....you might miss out on good talent that way. He can improve.....especially because he is young. Guest Dids Report post Posted August 18, 2004 Can I just say that the critique of Williams's finished as "over exposing" is silly. Say that it's "unrealistic", but who gives a shit about what's exposed in 2004? I think it's cool as hell.

Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 18, 2004 I find it funny we were agruing over MICHAEL SHANE of all people. And yes, Destroyer= cool.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted August 18, 2004 I find it funny we were agruing over MICHAEL SHANE of all people. Why is that?
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 18, 2004 Because Shane isn't a Major player in TNA, and usually the discussion centeres around the big guys. So to speak. I just found it funny that we were having a debate over Shane (who I thought was disliked by just about everyone, guess I was wrong) for a change.
