AmazingRen 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Credit pwinsider.com As I noted earlier tonight, former WWE star Spanky was scheduled to debut for TNA at the Impact! tapings in Orlando, Florida. Although he did not appear before the fans at the taping, he was backstage. TNA filmed vignettes to promote his debut with the company. Spanky will be working for the company when his ZERO-ONE schedule in Japan permits. There is talk floating around that Hector Garza may return once TNA knows for sure he is free of his AAA contractual obligations. TNA is also said to be looking at bringing in Super Crazy, the former ECW World Television champion. I've heard discussions about bringing in Extreme Tiger (Tijuana-based worker who's work has been praised and compared to Rey Mysterio when Rey was a rookie) as well but that is dependent on Tiger getting his INS paperwork taken care of so he can work in the United States. Since the AAA deal went kaput, TNA has been booking independent workers out of Mexico, which is why the original Psicosis and L.A. Park (original La Parka) are in now. Special thanks to Mark Pickering for his help with this story. Notes from Impact! taping: TNA has a merchandise stand outside the taping as you entered the soundstage, selling T-shirts and DVDs. Inside the soundstage, they only had a concession stand....Mike Tenay and Jeremy Borash signed autographs for the fans after the show.....They gave out a survey to fans as they entered the show, asking about their wrestling viewing patterns, if they knew of TNA beyond visiting Universal Studios, if they ordered the PPVs and other marketing research information. Interesting to note at the Impact! taping live was that the crowd seemed split down the middle cheering and booing Jeff Hardy. There was also a "We Want Matt" chant live, which I doubt will make the show when it airs tomorrow. Multichannel News covered TNA's decision to change their PPV format from weekly to monthly in today's edition.
Guest Donners Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Glad to hear they're planning a proper build to Spanky's debut, rather than just throwing him into a gauntlet match or some such.
Magus 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Good to see that they're getting more Latino workers to job to Jeff Jarrett on Impact. Can't wait for that. It was just a matter of time before the fans turned on Hardy. They could make him a heel, but taking him off TV would be smarter. If Hardy's just going to suck at wrestling, then make him and his weird band improve on TNA's shitty entrance themes. Maybe he'd actually be useful.

From the song I've heard of theirs they're beyond awful.

But at least its an inventive way to use Hardy without having him wrestle. Even if your in a band that really blows, how hard can it be to record a few 1-2 minute jams for some freakin' PRO WRESTLERS? Its not like he's gotta be John Lennon to do that kinda stuff.
