Positively Kanyon Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Sydney Morning Herald has an article up about the gold medal winning Egyptian who has been contracted by WWE about a possible career move, they also mentioned Kurt Angle. Any thoughts, could lightning strike twice?
GreatWhiteNope Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsPackageArticl...90§ion=news Karam Ibrahim took barely three minutes to crush his opponent in the final of the 96kg class, boosting his appeal to professional wrestling chiefs in the United States who have been wooing the extrovert Ibrahim to join their ranks. Eh, guess we'll find out soon enough.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Ooh, we could get Tiger Angle Singh.
Mole Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Even if this guy is an amazing wrestler, he'll get stuck with a shitty gimmick.
Highland Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Middle Eastern = Arab = Evil anti-American = Return of Sgt. Slaughter! What? You don't think that's what'll happen?
Epic Reine Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 I smell a WrestleMania main event.... {or a sitcom}..... with Angle vs. Egyptian Medalist guy. Much like Vince wanted to see Angle [gold medalist] pitted against NCAA champ Brock Lesnar. If they just let him be like an Egyptian [but not play off the Egyptian] gold medalist, like Kurt Angle, but who rubs it in our faces how he beat an American, it'd be great. Be even better if they got Rulon like their trying to do also, and have Rulon for this guy, and have it be a shoot wrestling match.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Yeah, the match was just replayed on NBC. They mentioned how this guy is going into professional wrestling like Kurt Angle of the 96 olympics. The guy seems to have a good attitude...and he obviously has the skills.
Vern Gagne Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 They just showed his match and aftewards he said he's going to the United States to attempt to wrestle professionally.
iliketurtles Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 This could be so awesome if done right. He's from Egypt? Oh shit.
