Guest Quik Report post Posted August 29, 2004 Yeah, so my roomate had the ECW Hardcore history (I think) DVD, and he said RVD/Lynn was on it. I'd always heard good things about it, so I really wanted to check it out. I have to say, for everyone who bitched about RVD being sloppy in WWE, his WWE work pales in comparison to just how fucking green, sloppy, and unnatural he looked in the ring in this match. The reversal sequence in the beginning? Looked so choppy and contrived it looked like they were practicing the fucking move peice by peice. The wonderous spot, stall, brawl, spot, stall, brawl style got boring real fast. At least Lynn looked like he knew what he was doing in the match. He seemed allright. Not great, but pretty good. When they blew a spot, it looked shitty. The spot that stands out in my mind was the powerbomb, reversal sequence. Looked like they forgot what they were doing halfway through. I will give them credit, though. When they took a bump during a spot, they took it like fucking MEN. Oh, and Bill Alphonso is the greatest manager of all time (excluding Heenan). What does everyone else think of this match?
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted August 29, 2004 If you mean the Hardcore Heaven match, it's horribly overrated. Sloppy as hell and WAY too much stalling from Van Dam. The Living Dangerously match is much better.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 Yeah, Living Dangerously is basicaly the same match, just done better.
Guest ally mccoist Report post Posted August 29, 2004 Yup, to repeat what everyone else said, the LD one was much better. And yeah I think Bill Alfonso is a much underated manager. Maybe not on a level with Heenan and Heyman, but I think he gets forgotten because his work was only in ECW.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Hardcore Heaven is the one that went a half hour, right? Yeah, Living Dangerously is better (though still not a GREAT match) and the one they had on PPV the next year was better too, IIRC. Actually Hardcore Heaven 99 was the first ECW show I had ever seen, and that match was way better than anything else on the show...which tells you how good a show it was. Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Well some of the shittyness can be contributed to Lynn cracking his head on the floor about half way through. But the rest is just good ol pure ECW RVD style matches. ECW: Providing overrated garbage for a decade.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2004 I have it on my extreme evolution vhs and yea it also dissapoints me. But then again RVD is always overated. That was a really sick bump lynn took, no wonder he was hurt. and RVD had no idea how to stall for time (despite that being his specialty during most of his matches) the last 10 mins were pretty good though, the sunset flip powerbomb thru the table looked pretty brutal, and RVD used to get some real height on his frog splashes back in the day
