Guest Shoes Head Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I think WWE helped Cold as well. I'm definitely a new fan because of the PPV's they've themed.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Oh you mean the last three Survivor Series songs haven't fit the event like a glove? Let's see, -A song about an S&M relationship set to the backdrop of WWE vs Alliance. -A song about attempted spousal murder to the first Elimination Chamber -And the typical 'whatever Fred Durst is whining about this week' set to The Jerichoholics (ruined by Orton) vs Austin's last defense? I'm afraid for SSeries 04 The theme songs are nothing more than a marketing tool to promote new albums, nothing more. It appears the only criteria WWE uses when picking the songs is that they 1) come from new albums by big-name established artists or 2) are new bands' first singles that will be pushed heavily by labels/radio. In that sense, it's not really a conscious search for a 'great' song that 'fits' the show; it's a way to get extra $ for shilling for popular rock bands. BTW, Saliva now is tied with Drowning Pool for performing the most PPV theme songs with 4. (No Mercy 01, WMX8, SS02, and UF04.)
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Hey, say what you want, but the WWE production crew does do a kick ass job of making whatever the PPV theme song is fit well with the main event's video package.

That's true, the video's look amazing, but it's the match preview things that get me usually (if the music is involved and it isn't very good)
Guest Big Daddy V1 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 I would have picked Linkin Park's "Breaking the Habit." ::Shudders:: I think I'd take an ice pick and pick at my brain if I hear that song ever MORE often. Didn't WWE sorta help Evanescence a bit? Evenessense just picked up heat after WWE made them a theme, they took off with one song and it led to their downfall... Save Me from the nothing I've become... Foreshadowing at its best
Hoff 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 The best theme that WWE has used was Drowning Pool's "Bodies" for Summer Slam 2001. This is a true statement.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 It was good, but ruined by "Yeah, more like Let The BOOBIES Hit The Floor!!!", in my opinion.
