Ultimate Dawn of the Dead collection

So I get home Tuesday night from work and I can't wait to sit down and pop this in my player. So I start going through all of the features and stuff, and I put in the fourth disc(the one with all the documentaries) and I start watching the Monroeville Mall tour with Ken Foree. Little do I realize that what they are showing me is a tour of the Monroeville Mall with some DOTD cast members that I happened to be lucky enough to go on two years ago. If you look closely you can see me a few times(just look for a dude in a blue hooded swearshirt with a Montreal Expos hat on...if you really care) and plus it's cool if you wanna see what the mall looks like now, compared to when the movie was made. Now, I know this is probably not a big deal to most of you.....but just imagine if you somehow someway got on a special collectors edition DVD of YOUR favorite movie of all time. Pretty fucking sweet........if I say so myself. Now if I could just be a zombie in Land of the Dead........my life would be complete. :headbang:

Good for you.

Back in the day the professional Pittsburgh Indoor Lacrosse Team used to broadcast games on KBL (now Fox Sports) and I had front-row seats. I saw myself a bunch of times -- good stuff, especially when me and a few other fans started a "lard ass" chant to the Boston goalie and the audio picked it up...

I got to see some of the extras at Horrorfind and got to see the box set up close. I nearly dripped saliva onto the damn thing.

If I had the cash right now, I'd so have that thing in my room.

Yeah, the other day I sold my copy of Dawn of the Dead so I'd HAVE to buy the delux edition.

I was actually worried about that as well, but I was lucky enough to attend the Pittsburgh Comicon and got it signed by a bunch of people...ROMERO included WHOO HOOO!!!!! So now, I can keep that one and watch the Ultimate edition. So things worked out well for me on that one.

That is cool man, being in the movie and all......and hey I was in Beyond the Mat for about 3 seconds.......LOL. You can see me if you know what to look for.....and having the DVD helps so when you pause, it isn't blurry.

Anyways, I tried looking for this in Frys but they didn't have it and looked it up and said the closest place getting it was the bay area Frys, so I marched on home and ordered it off Amazon.com and should be getting it sometime around Monday or Tuesday......WHOO HOO........

Actually, I wasn't in the movie. I actually wasn't even born yet upon it's release. They actually filmed the mall tour that I went on a couple of years ago for the films 25th anniversary. It was truly one of the coolest things I have ever gotten the chance to do. You can get an idea and see me(WHOOO HOO!!!!) on the Ken Foree Monroeville Mall Tour.

I watched most of the mall tour, but forgot to look for you (skimmed it cause it was a little boring). But the zombie guy re-enacting his escalator ride was funny as hell.

What did that cost and how long was it?

It was $10(that went to charity) and it lasted about an hour and 20 minutes or so.

Damn, I would definatly take that if I was in the area. Is it daily or weekly or what?

I watched the movie reciently, so I'm a good few months away from checking one of the other versions.

I believe the mall tour was a one time only thing for the 25th Anniversary. From what I hear the mall doesn't really embrace the fact they were the mall in Dawn, so I'm sure such an event was just a special occasion.

Actually, they do the tour every year around the Pittsburgh Comicon(may usually) and last year may have been the last year considering the mall is going through renovations and may look NOTHING like the original mall. But on the plus side the monroeville airport still exists(which is the place where the helicopter zombie comes into place) and is exactly the same from what I hear(I should be making a little drive there to check it out). Also, Satanico is right, the mall really doesn't embrace the fact that they were the mall, so if you were ever thinking of going there to see anything other than the regular mall(like the boiler room which looks exact to what it did in the movie and the roof, which the mall wouldn't even allow the mall tour to go.........)it won't happen.....unless you sneak in and try.........

hehe........

But if anyone is interested in checking it out next year, I will definately post when they are doing the tours.......or you can just ask me if you remember.....because if they are doing it......I'd go again.

What's everyones opinion about the infamous alternate downer ending? The people that worked on the movie have never got their story straight on it's existance. One time Romero and Savini will say they filmed it and another time Romero and Savini will say they never filmed it.

I personally think it doesn't exists and that they never filmed it.
