Zorin Industries 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2004 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicest...ire/3659120.stm We'll see how this turns out, but the U.K. is quite a pro-censorship country, so it could turn out quite bad for the gaming community
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2004 Oh, for fuck's sake, these wankers need to get the fuck over it and stop blaming a frigging video game. This is one incident. One. Last I checked, the game isn't making millions go out and kill, kill, KILL! Obviously this guy is mentally-fucking-unstable. Hooray for scapegoating!
Zorin Industries 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2004 Unfortunatly, thats the U.K. for you. You can go back and look at the video nasties scare of the early 80's when a shedload of horror movies were banned, for prior instances of this type of thing. People always go for the easy answers, plus the tabloids jump all over stories like this since its an easy sale

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2004 Wow. Claw hammer. Like people haven't been killing each other with those since, oh, THEY WERE INVENTED. People die all the time in the Middle East. They don't have many video games over there, if any.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Leicester East MP Keith Vaz asked Tony Blair to investigate links between Manhunt-type games and violence. Mr Blair said, on Wednesday, the game was "wholly unsuitable for children". WELL DONE TONY!! THAT'S why the game has an 18 certificate!! Got to love the way they condemn video games for creating a violent nation, then all week we've seen photos/newspaper stories/TV footage of the police waging a violent bloody war against a group of insane middle-class huntsmen, culminating in bloodshed on the streets of London. Then again, they probably all play violent games, eh Tony? Twat.

DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Panic on the streets of London This is the story with the best image of the rioting outside parliament. It was incredible to watch on TV, the police just repeatedly hammering away with their batons.
