According to what he said on Cold Pizza this morning, Hopkins made a promise to a dying relative(?) that he won't fight past the age of 40. With the remaining time he has left, the two opponents he's requested are Trinidad and Jones. The dying relative was his mom. Hopkins probably will only fight one or two more times.
snuffbox Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 The Trinidad rematch will almost certainly only happen if Tito can defeat Mayorga in a couple weeks... Jones is higher on Hopkin's list than Antonio Tarver because Roy was the last guy to beat him, more than a decade ago... I would guess that the possibilities would be, in order: Roy, Tito, Tarver, Mayorga, winner of Mosely-Wise2(this winner would also be a very likely opponent for DeLaHoya).
