strummer Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 And, from the Department of "Eh?", Enrique Wilson, upset over his lack of everyday play, is storming out in a huff, claiming that he's leaving the Yankees at the end of the year and going where someone needs him That'll work. Everyone's looking for a middle infielder to hit .216. Unfortunately, the Mets have "Super Joe" McEwing, so that option is gone. And I can't imagine anyone else being that stupid. Is Enrique friends with John Franco or Al Leiter? If he is, there is a spot for him on the Mets. Franco and Leiter keep getting McEwing contract extensions. I bet they wish their buddy Todd "Mr. 2000" Zeile could stick around and replace that punk kid David Wright at 3rd next year.
Brett Favre Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Yeah, that David Wright seems "too cocky".
mike546 Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 He has SOME talent. 12 Hrs, 35 RBIs, 298 BA in 235 ABs. 523 slugging with an eh .333 OBP.
Brett Favre Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 I was being sarcastic. Wright's going to be a star.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 Wait...Enrique Wilson is still under contract to the Yankees? Could've fooled me considering Miguel Cairo has played every game for the last two months it seems. Cairo is no all-star, but I'd rather keep him around than Wilson. At least he can get hits off every pitcher. Wilson seems to suck until Pedro Martinez pitches to him. Miguel Cairo is a free agent after this season, as is Enrique Wilson. Win Shares sees Cairo as the seventh best 2Bman in the A.L. His stats this season are well above his career totals, so I'd be wary about keeping him long term. The Yankees do have Andy Phillips in AAA. .388 OBP and .569 Slugging in Columbus this season. He's old for a prospect (27), but 26 home runs while playing second definately deserves a look.

They also have Cano.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 Cano's got good prospects. He's just 22, and I think he could use a full season at AAA to get a better idea of his abilities.

I'd give him a shot to win the job in the spring and keep someone like Cairo around in case it starts to fall apart.
mike546 Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 They called Cano up didn't they? If they have the division clinched by the last series of the season, I'd give him a couple starts.
Guest Staravenger Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Brown starts Sunday I no longer predict victory sunday. Brown, if lucky, will pitch 5 innings tops, unless the Sox beat the jock off him before he gets that far.

Brown, if lucky, will pitch 5 innings tops, unless the Sox beat the jock off him before he gets that far. And yet, you did when LOAIZA was pitching? Brown was and is our best shot to win that game (a game we don't have to win anyway.)
Guest Staravenger Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 At least Loaiza is coming off a good outing against Toronto. Brown is coming off breaking his hand and hasn't pitched for about a month.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 At least Loaiza is coming off a good outing against Toronto. Brown is coming off breaking his hand and hasn't pitched for about a month. Loaiza had a passable game against TO. Doesn't change that he's an awful pitcher.
Guest Staravenger Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 They aired SOME of Pedros comments from last night on NESN, but didn't put the comment where he dropped the F-Bomb.
mike546 Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Oh well, atleast Javy looks ok so far. AHAHAHA!!! Millah~!
Guest Anglesault Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 What does Javier Vazquez bring to this team? Anything? AT ALL? I never want to see him in a Yankee uniform again.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 26, 2004 Author Report Posted September 26, 2004 He's not Tanyon Sturtze.
Guest Staravenger Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 This series is boring...(turns on White Sox/Royals on WGN) Go Konerko! daddy needs a home run!
mike546 Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 See, if Vazquez doesn't fucking give up a HR to DOUG MILLABERI, we might still be winning.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 He's not Tanyon Sturtze. I'd rather Sturtze out there. Sturtze has shown he has balls.
mike546 Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 See? Sturtze can actually get people out.
Guest Staravenger Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 He's not Tanyon Sturtze. I'd rather Sturtze out there. Sturtze has shown he has balls. Well, I heard he use to be a police officer, so no lack of balls in his jock strap. And I have more faith in Sturtze than Vazquez anyway.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 The Knuckler is an evil, evil pitch.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 I have a lot of respect for that umpire. He gave Tito Francona his say, and he didn't start screaming and yelling back at him. That's what umpires should do.
mike546 Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Good call also. Huge hit for Posadaizzle.

I noticed Tim McClellan is the second base umpire, and he is HIGHLY respected as an umpire.
