Guest MissMattitude Report post Posted September 25, 2004 I saw this film a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say that no film has ever touched me in the way that this film did. What does everyone else think?
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 It disturbed me. That says something. It says that the makers of this movie don't understand Columbine happened because the two kids were fucking psychopaths that wanted to create a catastrophe on a 9/11 scale, or that the best thing to do to stop assholes from picking on you is to fight back in a similar manner. But no. We have to have some after school special about how bullying leads to kids killing each other. Why couldn't it be about how the kids decided to fight back by systematically humiliating their abusers? Wait, that'd send the wrong message. We need to have the kids ready to go on a killing spree, and then pussy out on it because one of their friends says no. To me, that's saying that none of the school shooters ever wanted to kill people, which is 100% fucking wrong. Fuck this movie.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted September 25, 2004 Sounds like a really lame ABC Afterschool Movie. -=Mike
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 I thought this was a thread for the new film written by Shane Black or a DDP bio-pic that I missed. But it has nothing to do with either and it's just another movie about a bunch of high school losers who can't handle school. The movie was weak, it was nothing more than a "HEY! THIS IS WHY!" film. For those of us who were bullied in high school...how many kids did you kill? Hell man, I had GI JOE as a cartoon when I was a kid! Guys with machine guns solving their problems and even I didn't kill anyone. Bullying doesn't lead to kids killing in high school....NEW STAR WAR MOVIES lead to kids killing. Guys with machine guns solving their problems and even I didn't kill anyone. Exactly. I've been watching Aliens, Terminator 2, RoboCop, Toxic Avenger, and other incredibly violent feature films since I was a pup. Now? Aside from when I'm coming up with ideas for scenes in movies or video games, I'm not a violent person at all. I'm quite peaceful, actually. And all this came from listening to "evil" rock music and watching "evil" movies for nearly a decade and a half. Whatever. Bullying doesn't lead to kids killing in high school....NEW STAR WAR MOVIES lead to kids killing. I think it's more or less just kids owning up to the fact that their lives are meaningless, will be meaningless, and so forth. I hate to pull a Tyler Durden here, but everything said in Fight Club about Generation X'ers still rings true to the current crop of 13-20 year old's. No real futures, no GREAT war, no iconic sports hero, no great depression, nothing. Of course, maybe I'm only saying this because I watched Fight Club for the first time in forever the other day, but hey.

Or it could be because kids don't realize that tons of stuff, chicks and fame isn't necessary for a meaningful life. In fact, it's probably detrimental moreso than not.
