Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Wrestling is homoerotic at its core, and anyone who says different is kidding themselves. You just pointed out the obvious in the worst possible way, tnamark. Congratulations.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Would any physical male sport be considered homoerotic then?

Guest Loss Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Wrestling is homoerotic at its core, and anyone who says different is kidding themselves. You just pointed out the obvious in the worst possible way, tnamark. Congratulations. I'd actually wrestling is more macho than just about any sport. There are some outlandish characters here and there, but I don't see much homoeroticism. It's not like they're fighting over balls. And they have yet to do a "two wrestlers in love" storyline without pussying out of it. Feminine and homoerotic are too different things. Wrestling is feminine at times, but I wouldn't ever really call it gay.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 27, 2004 It's two oily men bouncing around and rolling on the canvas, climbing on top of one another, grabbing each other's crotches, and pretending to fight. There's backrakes, eyerakes, mood swings, cheating, mount positions, crotch chops, blatantly gay gimmicks, a tag team of guys dressed like dicks, flamboyant outfits, Goldust...c'mon now, Loss, do you really need more examples? Actual contact sports can be homoerotic too, what with the ass-slapping, shower humor, male bonding, and all that. Thing is, wrestling has that too, and the obvious peripheral quirks I mentioned. Liberace was at wrestlemania.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Eh, OK. Just so it's noted that any activity is probably seen as erotic to someone.

Whoa, if that's what homosexuality is, I guess I'm not gay. I have never: *pretended to fight *backraked *eyeraked *cheated sexually I have never nor have I ever seen a gay man do a crotch chop. Mood swings have nothing to do with sexual orientation. Flamboyant outfits ... that shows femininity, not homoeroticism. It was revealed that Goldust wasn't gay in the storylines. And I've never seen a gay guy who covers himself in gold and paints his face. And the only person I've ever seen dressed like a dick outside of wrestling is Jerry Seinfeld, a heterosexual. If wrestling was homoerotic, we would have 100% tag teams and Michael Cole wouldn't wonder what the relationship was between two heels because we'd already know. Liberace was at Wrestlemania. Mike Piazza is a baseball player. That's like saying music is homoerotic because of Freddie Mercury.

Guest Loss Report post Posted September 27, 2004 When I think of gay sex, I see pro wrestling. Ah, a world where a heel turn could occur because I'm tired of being on bottom. That rocks!
TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I can't say I think of gay sex that often. I'm pretty sure you watch it enough, though. *Thinks that WMD wants an Abyss gay porn tape now* -Side note- Loss is gay? That explains the old Madonna Avatar. Wow. (Not that that's bad Loss, I'm just surprised.)
TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2004 To get back to more of the wrestling talk, I actually think that starting with a southern style would have helped TNA. Not saying that they should stick with it, but considering where they started, and where they stayed for two years it might have worked for them. I know a lot of guys who like southern style (having lived in Tennessee for four years) and they would like it much more than what TNA has put out. They should've used the Southern style booking with the innovative product. Of course, anything beats a midget beating off in a trash can.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Really, Agent? Because when I think of gay sex, I think of one man fucking another one up the ass. If you find homoeroticism in wrestling, outside of the flamboyant gimmicks like Billy & Chuck, Rico, the Rainbow Express, etc., then maybe you have some sexuality issues of your own to think about. Guest Staravenger Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Nothing excites me more than watching two sweaty, greased up muscle heads with shrunken genitalia groping each other for 3 hours. I hope everyone understands I'm kidding.
