therealworldschampion Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I want a Yankees-Dodgers World Series, with Jeff Weaver winning Game 7 at Yankee Stadium . You would probably see Anglesault kill himself on national television if that happened. Actually my prediction is Cardinals-Angels.
Guest Smues Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I want: Atlanta vs Minnisota, rematch 91 I expect: St. Louis vs New York (or LA vs New York just to make sure I have no interest in the series)
Guest Staravenger Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 If the World Series consisted of the combinations of Angels/Dodgers, Angels/Braves, Twins/Dodgers, or Twins/Braves I would have no interest. Go Yankees/Red Sox/Astros/Cardinals!
bob_barron Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Why no interest in Twins v. Braves? That'd be a great story. One team left for dead three years ago making it to the World Series on a limited payroll. Another team expected to end its dynasty remarkably piles up another 95 win season after watching almost all their stars go away somehow makes it back. It's a rematch of what many people consider to be the best World Series ever. If that doesn't hold your interest then you shouldn't watch baseball.
bob_barron Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I don't see the Dodgers beating the Cardinals. Twins v. Yankees will be interesting. The Yankees pitching is not at all what it once was and having to face Santana twice in a 5 game series is going to be a bitch. But then again the Yankees always seem to get it together in October- should be interesting. Red Sox v. Angels is going to be tons of fun. Atlanta v. Houston is going to be an interesting tense filled series. Damn you and your fake stomach virus.
therealworldschampion Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Twins-Braves would be interesting, except the fact that Fox would despise it because one's a small market(Minnesota) and the other is notorious for not selling out playoff games(Atlanta).
bob_barron Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I think if they made it back to the WS then the fans would go. But yea- FOX would put a bullet in its head.
Guest Staravenger Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I've never had any interest in Minnesota when they were bad or good, and Atlanta...eh. If this was 7 years ago, I'd care about them.
King Kamala Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 If I can I'd like to have a moment of silence for the death of several baseball careers Edgar Martinez 1987-2004 Todd Zeile 1989-2004 Youppi 1969-2004
bob_barron Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I don't care for the Twins much either but come on- that's an awesome story and it would be an awesome series. You can't not love that. Yankees v. Cardinals is such a boring predictable series. Yankees v. Braves would be shat on by everyone but it would be a cool 'one last time' kind of thing. Red Sox v. Braves would also be fun. Anyone v. Braves- awesome series.
Guest Wart Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Anybody know when the times for the playoff games will be announced?
Guest Smues Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I know that every series but Atlanta houstin starts tuesday. I haven't seen times yet though.
Guest Staravenger Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I heard the game times are 1, 4, and 8 but don't know what game is when.
King Kamala Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Here are King Kamala Classics's Playoff Picks (Don't hold me liable, if they suck I predicted the Expos would be .500 this year and thought the D-Backs would finish 2nd in the NL West) ALDS: Yankees over Twins in 4 Red Sox over Angels in 5 NLDS: Braves over Astros in 5 Cardinals over Dodgers in 4 ALCS Yankees over Red Sox in 7 NLCS Cardinals over Braves in 6 World Series Cardinals over Yankees in 5
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Al, hurry up and open tha OAO Divisional Series Thread.
Guest Staravenger Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Wait, since the Twins and Angels both lost today, who has home field advantage?
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Angels host the Sox, Twins visit NY.

Guest Anglesault Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Angels host the Sox, Twins visit NY. Vlad and Santana better not fuck this up.
iliketurtles Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 ALCS won't seem the same without Yanks vs. Sox. Obviously I want to see the Sox win it all, by going Angels-Yankees-Cardinals (or Braves). I'm still not over from having the possibility of a Red Sox/Cubs World Series that was five outs away last year.
iliketurtles Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 And if the Sox do end up blowing it, again, I want to see Yanks vs. Astros. That has potential to be crazy with Pettite and Roger.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 ALCS won't seem the same without Yanks vs. Sox. . Now, come on, we could get a rematch of that thrilling 2002 ALCS. I can't remember a single thing that happened in that series.
sfaJack Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 And if the Sox do end up blowing it, again, I want to see Yanks vs. Astros. That has potential to be crazy with Pettite and Roger. Kinda loses its luster a bit, since Pettitte has been done for the year for a while now. I honestly have no fucking clue who is going to emerge to win the World Series this year. Save the St. Louis/LA series (because I just don't see the Dodgers beating the Cards), I really don't see a clear favorite in any series. I'm pulling for a Cards/Twins Series though. And I'm damn sure hoping it isn't a Boston/NY ALCS again, simply because I don't think I could stomach how much Fox would overhype it.

I lose intrest halfway through the season. What happened to him?

I certainly hope if it does come down to that, they keep Roger the hell out of Monument Park. He'd make it so...dirty.

I can't remember a single thing that happened in that series. I don't even remember anything about the post season other than Giants vs. Angels in the World Series and the Angels won. And the Angels upset the Yankees. That's it. What a crappy way to end the 2002 season. And what's up with the Marlins and Cubs? What the fuck happened to them this year?
sfaJack Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Really? Damn. That must of been the part of the summer where I didn't pay attention to baseball. I lose intrest halfway through the season. What happened to him? Blew out his left elbow, had surgery, and is supposed to start throwing again in December.

He's been on DL 90% of the season and for at least the last two months.

You know that elbow the Yankees were worried about (making them evil, ungrateful, unloyal disingenuous bastards?) Where Pettite was offended that the Yanks would even ask? Yep.
