bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Stros in 4 (ATL are a bucnh of chockers and have JOHN FREAKIN THOMPSON as their 2nd starter. Ha) THE ASTROS HAVE NEVER WON A PLAYOFF SERIES. So seriously- shut up. Oh and John Thompson has gone 7-1 and is on the hot streak of a lifetime. So don't count him out Yah, cuz this team is EXACTLY like there previous teams so there is NO WAY they will win. What are you, a frickin moron? Plus, Wins are very decieving. Rocket and Oswalt >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wright and Thompson. Atlanta's best picther is hurt also, btw. But the Braves are a different team as well- only player has been there all 13 years. JD Drew, Marcus Giles, Adam LaRoche, Eli Marrero, Charles Thomas, Johnny Estrada, John Tompson, Russ Ortiz, Paul Byrd, Jaret Wright, Antonio Alfonseca, Chris Retisma, etc. are all relatively new to the team. Atlanta's best pitcher is Jaret Wright. He tweaked his ankle...but his fine. Ditto Chipper Jones- he's fine. He has some pain but for the most part he is fine. You're right- wins are decieving. Roy Oswalt may have won 20 games but his stats aren't totally impressive. Thompson's most recent starts: 7 innings 1 run 7 innings 1 run 6 innings 3 runs 6 innings 2 runs 6 innings 2 runs, 1 earned 7 innings 0 runs 7 innings 1 run 7 innings 1 run 3 innings 1 run Impressive no? The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 And he's dealing with back spasms that forced them to push back his playoff start, so I'm not sure I'd consider him to be at 100%.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I'm not concerned. Mike 'Champion of the Denver Public School District' Hampton goes in Game 2- he's 11-1 down the stretch. The Braves are encouraged with Thomson- they just don't want to risk it. He's doing a warmup session today that should answer a lot of questions
Cartman 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2004 BoSox in 3 Someone is over confident considering the Sox record vs. Anahiem is 5-4...and to show I actually researched this time... June 1st-June 2nd: L 7-6 L 10-7 July 15th-July 18th: L 8-1 W 4-2 L 8-3 W 6-2 August 31st-September 2nd: W 10-7 W 12-7 W 4-3 The series the Sox swept was during their hot period of like 18 wins in 20 games (or whatever it was). One thing is for sure: These two teams score a shit load of runs against each other.
