help identify movie for my column

Recommended Posts

The scene this guy is describing sounds some what familiar to me, but nothing is clicking.

"Since you seem to be able to help everyone find out lost movies from

their past, here's one of which I only have the vaguest recollection.

There is some war or battle going on in the movie at different times,

perhaps some bombardment at night on a fort or something. But the most

evocative image is of an old guy who looks like a hobo that can run as

fast as a bullet. There are scenes in the film where he is outrunning

a cannon ball next to the ocean. I also get the feeling the movie may

take place in another time or some alternate reality like Star Wars

does but that could be wrong."

Sounds like The Adventures of Baron Munchausen to me.

Agreed.

Eric Idle as "Berthold" to be exact.

The only bomb under the belt of Terry Gilliam, though not his fault.

That's one of my favorite movies. I love Terry Gilliam. Time Bandits is still cooler, though.

Time Bandits better though? Hard to say there AoO, it's been a long time since I last saw that one. Time to head to Deep Discount to see if there's a steal on it.
