Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 yayyyyy. Bryd has been a hot hitter (as far as pitchers go) lately.
Slayer Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 And pardon my ignorance, but what's the #21 shoulder patch for the Braves?
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Raffy grounds out to end the inning sadly. The Braves just don't want to lose this game. They know this is it pretty much and they just keep coming back. My beef with Minute Maid is that seriously- every game should be 32-21. It looks so easy to get a double down the lines and to hit a HR.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 The 21 was Furcal's blood alcohol level when he got pulled over with that DUI the other week. Actually I can't rmemeber what it is and now I feel stupid.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Ahh fuck it I bought the audio pass. Probably won't use it past this series, but oh well. At least I can get the Atlanta announcers feed.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Makes sense- I didn't even know. Okay- JD Drew and Chipper's channelling of Gary Sheffield's postseason performances of the past two years have got to stop. The Braves could be doing so much better if those guys weren't automatic outs. Good to see someone finally solve Beltran
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 JD Drew surprises me, but I expected this from Chipper. His wrist is hurt and when his wrist is hurt he can't hit shit.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Bagwell hits like a bloop pitch and it somehow results in Thomas making a leaping catch. This park is insane.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Chipper's starting to make contact. They flew his dad in so hopefully this can get nipped in the bud. I think with Chipper it's just one of those things where once he gets a bloop or one little hit it'll give him his confidence back. Paul Byrd's expressions are awesome
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 My favorite memory of the insaneness of that ballpark was in the 2002 season Furcal hits one to I think leftfield somewhere that just barly is aboe the yellow line and is a homerun. An inning or so later someone for Houstin hits it like 10 feet higher, but a few feet to the right of where Furcal's was, and it was right where the line jumps way up so it was a double. Fun times. FEAR THE YELLOW LINE! Edit: (666 post mode on) GO YANKEES YEAH WOOO GO LAKERS GO TOM BRADY AND YOUR SOUL THAT YOU SOLD TO SATAN RAAAAAAAAA (/666 post mode)
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 I hate this park. Damn you Jeff Kent. Braves need to go and get one right back. Luckily they got Estrada and Jones- two guys who have played well so far
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 God damnit! He was so close to getting out of this inning and now it's 4-2. This place is loud and I don't like it.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 And now that I bought the audio pass I can hear that crowd:( bah
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Did I heard correctly that they ahve to wait because towels are dropped onto the field? What the hell?
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Two-out walks will kill you. They don't win this one and I can't see them winning the series. Of course, moving on will be for nothing if Drew and Chipper don't break out of their slumps.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 What the hell Oswalt is throwing in the bullpen?
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Damn if Oswalt comes in and we somehow win Houstin is going to be in trouble. Of course that's a big if.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Yea I wasn't paying attention and when he walked Berkman I knew that wasn't good. They got 4 more innings to try and get something- the time is now for Drew and Jones to step up
Brett Favre Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 What the hell Oswalt is throwing in the bullpen? A baseball.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 If we make the WS, I don't want to play in this building. Bernie would kill himself on that stupid hill.
Brett Favre Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 If we make the WS, I don't want to play in this building. Bernie would kill himself on that stupid hill. But we'd have like 8 home runs each game played there.
Brett Favre Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Backe reminds me of "Jackie, please take me Backe."
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 9 outs left for Atlanta with a 2 run defecit, not good.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 If I wasn't on the verge of falling asleep I'd be cursing up a storm right now. HOW DO YOU NOT SWING AT THAT? They got the top of the order coming up in the 8th-9th. It's time for the big guys to step up and truly set an example for the rest of the team.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Dynamite. Bob, your team looks pathetic right now. I love ignorant Braves fans ragged on the Cubs for choking, but here the team is a week later doing it on a much grander scale.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 I think the Braves knew I'd be half into this game and knew it'd be pointless to try. Don't count them out based on pathetic inning. This team has been resilient all year. That's the only reason I'm not giving up.
