Slayer Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 KSU must still be pissed about losing to KU last week And I second Miami... it seems like in the whole USC/OU media frenzy, they've been greatly overlooked EDIT: While typing this up, OU takes back the lead 24-21
Damaramu Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Man this is a good game. But OU is playing sloppy. If USC plays good then OU should lose some first place votes rightfully. I mean jesus! You have 90% of the sports nation saying you should be #1 and how do you answer it!? This is why being a fan pisses me off sometimes.
therealworldschampion Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Oh, and don't sleep on Miami as far as the Orange Bowl goes. Miami still has to go to Virginia and NC State. They'll lose on of those. I might be violently ill if Brock Berlin is anywhere near the Orange Bowl.

OMGMYTEAMSNOTWINNING73-7OUISTEHSUXORS!!!!!!!!~ Nevermind he's been DECRYING most media (and some OU people) for the same deal.
Slayer Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 So close... File this year under "rebuilding" I'm not worried though, KSU went .500 in '01 and came back to win 11 the next year, so we do rebound well at least
therealworldschampion Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Auburn is already up 10-0 on Arkansas.
Damaramu Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 That game was too close for my tastes! Whew! Oh well at least we pulled the victory out and got a good midseason test which we DIDN'T get last year. We needed it bad.
Bored Posted October 16, 2004 Author Report Posted October 16, 2004 USC opens up a 21-0 lead on Arizona State in the 2nd quarter.
Art Sandusky Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 So yeah, Georgia's going to need to bring a lunch when they play Auburn.
Damaramu Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 So OU was better than USC last week and everyone wanted them to be #1. USC is better than OU this week and will stay #1. And Auburn may be better than both of them. IT'S OFFICIAL! 3-WAY RACE FOR THE ORANGE BOWL! God I love this shit.
Bored Posted October 16, 2004 Author Report Posted October 16, 2004 Reggie Bush's first half: Rushing: 3 att, 13 yards Receiving: 3 catches, 52 yards, TD Passing: 1/1, 52 yards, TD Punt Returns: 2 returns, 50 yards They really need to give him the ball more. Duane Jarrett, now the new #1 receiver for USC with Steve Smith out, has 4 catches for 121 yards and three touchdowns. USC up 42-7.
snuffbox Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Finally, about time for Wisconsin-Purdue...
Damaramu Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 USC sure as hell answered there critics this week. Man this race for the Orange Bowl just gets better everyday!
Bored Posted October 16, 2004 Author Report Posted October 16, 2004 Ohio State is getting slaughtered 33-0 by Iowa. Toledo vs. Ohio State in the Motor City Bowl should be fun.
Damaramu Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Damn you Ohio state! I counted on you! Now you're dealing me my 4th straight loss!
snuffbox Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Touchdown Badgers...7-0, about 2minutes left in the first half...
teke184 Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 The Lobos of New Mexico win, which means I just pimp-slapped Kotz for his 5th loss.
Slayer Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Possibly premature judgement, but... Will Jim Tressel be one of those coaches who was able to win a championship with his previous coaches players, only to not do so well when his own recruiting classes start coming in (there should be a name for this)?

Will Jim Tressel be one of those coaches who was able to win a championship with his previous coaches players, only to not do so well when his own recruiting classes start coming in (there should be a name for this)? I think that Terry Bowden is the best comparison... Terry Bowden went 11-0 and 10-1 with Pat Dye's players (he was also under probation due to recruiting violations under Dye), then went back to the middle of the SEC after that.
Slayer Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 The main comparison I thought of was (I know this is basketball but bear with me) Tubby Smith, who won the Final Four in his first year with Pitino's players (and has pretty much ridden that ever since, I should note) but has fallen into the "good but not quite good enough" category
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Ohio State is getting slaughtered 33-0 by Iowa. Toledo vs. Ohio State in the Motor City Bowl should be fun. Ohio State's going to have to really try if they expect to get to a Bowl game this year. They've got at least 2 more losses with Michigan and Purdue and Michigan State always comes to play. So OSU could be looking at a 5-6 season if they don't get it together.
Damaramu Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Oh man...A&M is beating up on OSU in Stillwater 20-0. Ouch! Poor OSU. Whoever wins I don't care! They're both Top 25 and we have to go to both of there homefields!
Slayer Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 A&M is a friggin spoiler school... not good enough to be at the top, but good enough to put a hurt on the top teams season's
snuffbox Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Wisconsin is now doing its best Trent Reznor impression...
Damaramu Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Yeah I'm really worried about going into Stillwater and College Station.
snuffbox Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Wisconsin is now doing its best Trent Reznor impression... Nevermind...Badgers trying for an upward spiral now.
snuffbox Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Ben Jones never misses from that distance...until just now.
Damaramu Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 God damn. Has the Top 10 ever just lost like this before? Teams move up and then go back down all the time now! Or is it just that the overall Top 25 is better?
Slayer Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I was so into the baseball game that I forgot about college football on other stations... Let the "Virginia = overrated" talk begin
